1 EQUIPMENT Mandatory protection for all competitions: 1. Fencing mask 1600 N., level 2 (FIE), with back of the head protection. 2. Groin protector for men and chest protector for women. 3. Throat protector: must cover throat and must not hang loose. 4. Fencing jacket, with a protection of at least 350 N. 5. Gloves. 6. Fencing breeches or padded breeches. Specifications for Longsword, Sword&Buckler and Sidesword: 1. Light leather plastron or heavy plastron (to wear above the jacket) or padded fencing jacket. 2. PVC chest guard (to wear under the jacket); 3. Underarm protector 800 N. for sports fencing (recommended). 4. The gloves must have rigid or semi-rigid and padded protection, they must cover the fingers, the hand, the wrist and the initial part of the forearm. Lacrosse/hockey gloves are acceptable, preferably reinforced. 5. Padded breeches, with rigid or semi-rigid protection. 6. Rigid knee and elbow protection, covering the joints. Specifications for Rapier, Rapier&Dagger: 1. Throat protector: must cover throat and must not hang loose. Can be

Torso protection: a) padded jacket with protection of at least 350 N.; b) sports fencing jacket 800 N. and light leather plastron (to wear above the jacket) or PVC chest guard (to wear under the jacket); c) plastron or padded fencing jacket; d) underarm protector 800 N. for sports fencing (recommended). 2. Glove for the hand holding the rapier: as described by the FIE normative plus additional protection for the wrist and forearm, or medium/high protection glove for historical fencing; for the unarmed hand, or the one holding the dagger, high protection glove for historical fencing. 3. Padded breeches, with rigid or semi-rigid protection. 4. Rigid knee and elbow protection, covering the joints. WEAPONS: Rapier The weight of the Rapier must be between 800 and 1200 grams. The maximum total length is 125 cm. The maximum length of the blade, from the exit point of the guard to the tip, is 105 cm.
