7 MT7 DUELL-WINNER MAGURA versus SRAM The four-piston brake from south-west Germany digs in as hard as an anchor. The following models were tested in the 1/15 SRAM GUIDE RSC versus MAGURA MT7 The MT7 scored top values on the test bench. The brakes even beat the massive power of gravity stoppers like Avid Code or Shimano Saint. The MT7 also came out shining in the practical test. It is powerful, has great modulation and has no weaknesses at all, even with heavier riders. Test editor Laurin Lehner concludes: 9,5/10 With enormous bite and outstanding stability the MAGURA MT7 is the winner. With this much braking power the Stopper is sure to have plenty of new fans. 8 2015/04 MT5 impressed the WOMB testers from the word go On the trail:... the MT5 grips relentlessly. Even while they were still setting up, the aluminium brake lever on the MT5 could be adjusted to fit smaller hands and the test riders praised the excellent ergonomics. And out riding, the more affordable of these sister models was rated as one of the most powerful brakes, which could be used with no problems in both enduro and gravity disciplines. 9 2015/08 MAGURA gave an impressive demonstration of where the current benchmark is set. One ultimate winner: the MAGURA MT7, because across all of the test criteria it displayed no weak points, and it took the test win by a significant margin. MT7 has new lever ergonomics, with lever reach now adjustable even shorter, impressed the testers, as did the completely tool-free adjustment system. Extra praise for the new easy to change brake pads and the low maintenance system using mineral oil as the braking fluid. It is smooth bite point, fine modulation, maximum braking power. 10 2015/08 MT5: TEST WINNER IN THE GRAVITY SPECIAL EDITION MAGURA MT5 was crowned best-value disk brake The MT5 confirmed its high performance with impressive results: This brake had the shortest stopping distance. Furthermore ( ) this brake applies way too much power to the disks It s the equal of its big sister, the MT7 and the lever ergonomics are good.
