1 Richmond Police Department Volume 14, Issue 17 April 27, 2018 RPD Members Honored by United States Attorney s Office The U.S. Attorney s Office Eastern District of Virginia - held their 2018 Public Service Awards on Thursday. They recognized three members of the Department for investigative work instrumental in successful operations in the past year. Detective Robert Sprinkle: Recognized for this efforts in Operation Lunch Specialwhere four suspects were arrested in July 2017 on drug trafficking charges. He also assisted in arresting individuals who were distributing heroin and cocaine in the Hopewell-Petersburg-Colonial Heights areas. Detective Henry Johnson was recognized for his efforts in the arrest of Daymont Underwood. Last April, Underwood was convicted by a federal jury of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and several other charges. He was sentenced to 360 months in prison. Detective Sandy Ledbetter-Clarkson was recognized for her efforts in the arrest of Antoine D. Laws. Laws was identified by law enforcement as being a member of the Rollin 20s organization. Laws was sentenced to 115 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm.

Officer Holmes was patient and checked the surrounding areas and eventually found the car on Floyd Avenue, - which had been a fair distance from the location of where the owner had been. 5 A Successful series of Town Halls Chief Durham hosted his final town hall for First Precinct on Tuesday evening at the Peter Paul Development Center. Many residents turned out for the meeting, and there were lots of opportunities to connect with the community. Until next year! Creating REAL Life Partnerships For the past several months, members of the REAL Life Program have been joining Lt. James Killingsworth and members of RPD on the monthly community walks. Chief Durham joined the group last week to see the impact these walks have had on bridging the gap with the police and our community. Be sure to look out for the story on CBS 6 on May 1 at 11 p.m.!
