SAFETY The ownership of this marker places upon you the total responsibility of its safe and lawful use. You must observe the safety of not only yourself but also everyone around you. Read the entire manual before you prepare your Matrix paintball marker for firing. Safety and safe marker handling are the most important aspects of the sporting activity of paintball. Do not load or fire this marker until you are completely familiar with its mechanical operation and handling characteristics. Handle this marker or any other marker as it were loaded at all times. Never point this marker at anything or anyone you do not intend to mark. Always keep the barrel pointed down or in a safe direction, even if you stumble or fall. Always use an approved barrel plug or barrel cover. Do not field strip or otherwise disassemble this marker when it is pressurized with gas. Pressurize and load the marker only when the marker will be immediately used. Unload and remove the gas cylinder immediately after use for safe storage. All pressurized air systems can be extremely dangerous if misused or improperly handled. Use only D.O.T. certified tanks. Do not look directly into the barrel. Accidental discharge may cause permanent injury or death. Keep exposed skin away from escaping CO2 gas when installing or removing the cylinder. CO2 gas is very cold and can cause frostbite under certain conditions. If you purchased any form of gas adapter with this marker, be sure to read and follow the instructions that came with that adapter.

Before pressurizing your Matrix paintball marker, check in order to make sure that you have a barrel plug in place and there are no paintballs in the marker. Dress appropriately when playing the game of paintball. Avoid exposing skin when playing the game of paintball. Even a light layer will absorb some of the impact and protect your from the paintballs. Make sure that you and everyone else within a range of 300 yards is wearing ASTM approved paintball eye and ear protection in the form of goggles and full-face mask. Never shoot at a person who is not similarly protected. Avoid shooting an opponent at a distance less than 6 feet Custom Tequila Matrix

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Note: ASTM approved Safety Goggles must be worn at all times when handling this marker. BATTERY & INSTALLATION The marker comes equipped with a 9-volt alkaline battery. To install the battery, unscrew the back plate, gently pull battery harness from lower chamber and connect battery. Gently slide in the battery, re-attach the back plate with the threaded knob. TANK INSTALLATION Prior to tank installation, first make sure that the marker is on the off position. Carefully follow instructions provided by the tank manufacturer. LOADER INSTALLATION Make sure that the neck and loader are clean in order to keep the paintballs from breaking and in order to feed the marker smoothly Put the paintballs into the loader, do not overfeed loader. Place the neck of the loader into the top of the breech of the Matrix marker. Do not force the unit. Turn the loader slowly to make it fit deeper into the neck of the breech. TURNING ON THE MATRIX Keep your finger out and away from the trigger. Point the muzzle of your marker in a safe direction at all times. Be sure your Paintball goggles are securely in place. On the Standard or Select version- Press and hold the button on the back of the grip frame until the indicator light turns on. This signifies that the marker is in the firing mode. Press and hold the same button until the light goes off in order to deactivate the marker from the firing mode. On the LCD version- Press and hold the top button on the grip frame until the LCD screen turns on. The marker will always default to the safe mode. Press and hold the middle button on the grip frame to place the marker into firing mode. To return to safe mode, press and hold the middle button again until the LCD display reads safe. To turn the marker off, press and hold the top button on the back of the grip frame until the LCD screen turns off.

IN-LINE REGULATOR Your factory-installed regulator has an optimal working pressure as shown below for each model. Never over-pressurize the marker for it may damage the solenoid. Replacement of the factory-installed regulator will immediately render your warranty null and void. Some regulators have a port for a pressure gauge. Do not confuse the input port for your macroline with the gauge port or you will damage your internals. Recommended supply tank pressure: For optimal performance, Generation E recommends that your supply tank output pressure is between 450 and 500 psi. Recommended In-Line Regulator pressure: Matrix Standard Version psi. Matrix Select or LCD Version psi. VELOCITY ADJUSTMENT Because the firing velocity of your marker is dependent upon on uncontrollable variables such as temperature, weather and altitude, you must test the velocity before each use, using a chronograph. The velocity must not exceed 300 feet per second. The velocity of the Matrix is controlled by varying the pressure going into the marker. By increasing or decreasing this pressure, it will increase or decrease the velocity. To increase velocity To increase the velocity, raise the pressure in the in-line regulator by screwing the adjustment knob on the bottom further into the body of the regulator. The maximum pressure for a Standard Matrix is 170 PSI. The maximum pressure for a Matrix equipped with an LPR is 210 PSI. To decrease velocity To decrease the velocity, lower the pressure in the in-line regulator by screwing the adjustment knob on the bottom away from the body of the regulator.

RATE OF FIRE The Matrix is equipped with four (4) dip-switches located in the grip that will vary the forward and backward action of the bolt, which in turn determine the rate of fire (ROF). LCD rate of fire is adjustable through LCD frame option. Note: If you set the rate of fire in excess of what the loader can feed, you will experience ball chopping. Therefore it is advisable to ensure that you adjust the dip-switches accordingly Gun 12 (Standard Chip) Gun 20 (Enhanced Chip) Decreasing the forward pulse will offer better efficiency and rate of fire. Increasing the forward pulse will offer more velocity. Increasing the back pulse will allow balls to feed better. Decreasing the back pulse will allow a faster rate of fire. The goal is to use a setting that works best for you and the paint you shoot.

MAINTENANCE Prior to attempting to perform any maintenance operations or any marker disassembly, make sure that all paintballs and sources of propellants have been removed from the marker. Insert the barrel plug, and switch the marker into the off mode. To clean your Paintball marker, use a damp cloth with water to wipe off paintball residue, oil and debris. Do not use any cleaning solvents or petroleum based lubricants. Re-oil with a few drops of Paintball gun oil on the front bolt o-ring located in the top chamber. To clean barrel, unscrew barrel from fore breech and clean with a dry cloth or squeegee. Avoid paper products; they can scratch the inside of your barrel!! To clean the bolt and fore breech, unscrew threaded knob located at the back of the marker. Then remove the threaded knob and slide fore breech off main body. Clean with a clean cloth, avoid paper products that may scratch inside body. After cleaning, re-install the fore breech securely, then reinsert the slide bar in its location and tighten the knob. The electronics are only moisture/dampness resistant. Thus, never submerge or immerse your marker in water, because damage will result. Keep the bolt assembly well lubricated, and keep an eye on your o-rings for damage. DO NOT pull the bolt out by the stem in the back, take off the front o-ring & push it from the front. Keeping you marker properly lubricated will enhance its performance.

LCD OPERATION To turn on the power- press and hold the top button. You are now on the main display page. It shows Rate of Fire, Temperature, Battery Power, the Matrix Logo, Safe or Live mode, the Timer, and the Forward and Back Pulse. To enter the graphic menu, from Safe mode, hold the bottom button for two seconds or until the graphic menu appears. The Timer icon will be highlighted. Scrolling through the different features can be done by pressing either of the two bottom buttons. After an icon is highlighted, you may select it by pressing the top on/off/select button. This will bring you into the edit mode of the icon which was selected. Once selected, each feature can be edited. Exiting Edit mode is as simple as pressing the top button again. Once in edit mode of the following, they can be changed by: TIMER: Holding down the bottom button will deecrease time. Holding down the middle button will increase time. All time is adjustable in seconds and will stop once the button is no longer depressed. RATE OF FIRE: Holding down with the middle or bottom button will clear your user rate of fire to zero. This is the USER rate of fire only. The actual rate of fire settings are adjustable through the forward and back pulse. TRIP COUNT: Holding down either the middle or bottom button will clear your trip count. TOTAL SHOTS: This feature is non ajustable. It records the total number of shots fired while in the live mode throughout the entire of your marker. VIBRATE: This feature can be turned on or off by toggling the middle or bottom buttons. When this feature is turned on, the grip will vibrate for 10 seconds when there is a minute left on the timer and again when the timer hits zero. BUZZER: This feature can be turned on or off by togling the middle or bottom buttons. When this feature is turned on, the grip will buss for 10 seconds when there is a minute left on the timer and again when the timer hits zero.

TEMPERATURE: Temperature can be displayed in degrees F or degrees C by toggling the middle or bottom buttons. CONTRAST: This feature is locked from the outside, but can be unlocked by pressing the white reset button on the board. It can then be changed for certain light conditions. Once exiting the EDIT menu, the feature will be automatically locked. SERIAL NUMBER: Your board s serial number is for identification purposes only and cannot be tampered with. Once in the edit, the version of the board will also be displayed. Note: the board serial number will not match the serial number stamped into the body of your marker. FORWARD PULSE: This feature controls the amount of time the bolt takes to reach the forward position. Once it reaches the forward position, the marker will fire. Generally, the best operating range for forward pulse is 12 to 16 (represented in milliseconds). Generally, the lower the forward pulse, the better air efficiency achieved. However, a marker that is not optimal, i.e. not lubricated well, may need a higher forward pulse to perform at the same level. Since this feature can affect velocity, it is locked and can only be adjusted by unlocking it with the white reset button located on the board. BACK PULSE: This feature controls the amount of time the bolt stays back to allow a paintall to drop into the breech. The optimal setting is between 35 and 45 milliseconds. A longer back time can be effective if a marker is having feeding problems. EXIT: Selecting this feature allos you to get out of the graphic menu. The battery indicator is linear which means it shows the actual battery power left. To avoid damage, keep your LCD board away from direct contact with water or extreme heat.

Troubleshooting Bolt is leaking out of the bolt tip: This is due to the top hat o-ring. Replace the smaller o-ring on the top hat (a #13 with the Standard bolt and #12 with the upgraded bolt kit). Air is leaking out of the front but not from the bolt tip: This is most likely due to the front wall o-ring. Change this o-ring. The bolt is sticking foward: Bolt stick can be caused by too much pressure into the solenoid. To correct, lower the pressure going into the marker or adjust your low pressure regulator if you are using one. Another cause of bolt stick is tightening the rear cap too much. The rear cap should be turned in all of the way and then back out approximately 1/2 turn. Bolt stick can also be caused by a swollen o-ring on the bolt. Make sure o-rings are well lubricated and in good condition. The Matrix will not fire: Make sure that you have power from the battery by checking the LED indicator or LCD display. When your battery gets very low, you may experience erradic problems. If you determine that you have a functioning battery, check your air source and make sure that it is turned on. Confirm that all the bolt parts are put into the marker in the correct order and position. Check the location of the trigger set screws and confirm that they are not keeping the trigger from activating the micro-switch on the board.

The velocity is inconsistent: First, check the quality of the paint. Inconsistent paint will give inconsistent velocity. Make sure your regulator o-rings are clean and well maintained since any flucuations in your regulator pressure will also effect your velocity. Check the bolt nose and make sure that all other o-rings are properly lubricated. Changing the bolt stem o-rings can also help improve consistency. The paintballs balls are not feeding properly:_ Check that your detents are not worn or damaged. Make sure that you are not outshooting your hopper. Set your forward and back pulse rates to maximize the paintballs and your play style. For example, if your back pulse is set at 35 milliseconds and the paint you are using is not feeding well, increase the back pulse to 45 or 55 in order to allow more time for the balls to drop.
