THESE SAFETY RULES ARE OBLIGATION FOR ALL FIREARMS MADE BY CASALTA. SOME OF THE OPERATIONS MENTIONED BELOW ARE NOT FOR ALL PRODUCTS. FOR INSTANCE CHECKING THE RECEIVER FOR SHELL IS NOT CONTROL FOR OVER&UNDER SHOTGUNS. IT IS FOR SEMI AUTOMATIC SHOTGUNS. 1. RULE: ALWAYS KEEP THE MUZZLE POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION. NEVER POINT A FIREARM AT SOMETHING THAT IS NOT SAFE TO SHOOT! This is the most important gun safety rule. A safe direction is one in which an accidental discharge will not cause injury to yourself or others. Never allow your gun to point at anything you don't intend to shoot. Never let the muzzle of a rearm point at any part of your body or at another person. Never look into the muzzle or change tubes on a loaded gun, even with safety engaged. During the choke operation either open the action or lift the barrel out of the receiver. Be especially careful when you're loading or unloading. Before choke operation, either open the action or lift the barrel out of the receiver. Treat ever)' gun as if it were loaded. To be sure that the gun is empty, open the chamber and check. And make it a habit to know where your muzzle is pointed at all times, even when your rearm is unloaded. No one will be injured by an accidental discharge if you keep your rearm pointed in a safe direction. It's as simple as that. 2. RULE: FIREARMS SHOULD BE UNLOADED WHEN NOT ACTUALLY IN USE. Load your rearm only when you're in the eld or on the target range and ready to re. Never let a loaded gun out of your sight or out of your hands. Unload it as soon as you're nished shooting - before you bring it into your car, camp or home. Remember, unloading your rearm means unloading it completely, so there is no ammunition in the chamber or in the magazine. Before handling a rearm or passing it to someone else, visually check the chamber, receiver and magazine to be certain they do not contain ammunition. Always keep the gun's action open when not in use. Never assume a gun is unloaded even if you were the last person to use it. Always check for yourself. Let common sense rule when you carry a loaded gun. If you're in any situation that could risk accidental discharge - such as crossing a fence, wading through a stream, or climbing a tree -always unload your gun. Never pull or push a loaded rearm toward yourself or another person. And never carry a loaded gun in a scabbard, detached holster or gun case. Safe storage of rearms is just as critical as safe handling. Never store guns loaded and be sure to keep your rearms in a secure place where no one can get their hands on them without your knowledge. Take special care if there are children around. It is your responsibility to insure that children under the age of 18 or other unauthorized persons do not gain access to your rearm. To reduce the risk of accidents involving children, unload your rearm, lock it

and store the ammunition in a separate locked location. Please note that devices intended to prevent accidents - for example, cable locks, chamber plugs, etc., - may not prevent use or misuse of your rearm by a determined person. Steel gun safes may be more appropriate to reduce the likelihood of intentional misuse of a rearm by an unauthorized child or person. Kids are fascinated by guns. It s a natural curiosity that can have tragic consequences when not properly supervised. Store your rearms in a locked gun safe or some other location that physically bars a child from gaining access. Ammunition should be stored and locked in a location separate from your rearms. Never leave an unsecured rearm or ammunition in a closet, dresser drawer or under the bed. Remember, it is your responsibility to make sure that children and others unfamiliar with rearms cannot get access to your rearms and ammunition. 3. RULE: DON T RELY ON YOUR GUN'S SAFETY. SAFETY DEVICES ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SAFE HANDLING PROCEDURES. Treat every gun as if it can re at any time, whether or not there's pressure on the trigger. Your rearm has been carefully designed to maximize performance and safety. However, a gun's safety is a mechanical device and, like any mechanical device, it could fail. Human error is a more likely reason for a gun safety to fail. By mistake, you may think the safety is on when it really isn't. Or the safety may have been disengaged without your knowledge. Or you could think your gun is unloaded when there's actually a cartridge or shell in it. A safety is not a substitute for common sense. It's merely a supplement to your proper handling of a rearm. Don't touch the trigger on a rearm until you are ready to shoot. Keep your ngers away from the trigger when you're loading or unloading. And don't pull the trigger when the safety is engaged or positioned anywhere between safe and re. Read your instruction manual to understand the exact location and operation of your rearm's safety. Even when the safety is on, maintain control of your loaded rearm and control the direction of the muzzle. In other words, don't rely on your safety to justify careless handling. If your rearm's internal mechanisms are broken or have been altered, your rearm may re even when the safety is on. Remember, you and your safe gun handling practices are your gun's best safety. Never rely solely on a safety device to prevent an accident. It is imperative that you know and use the safety features of the particular rearm you are handling, but accidents can best be prevented by following the safe handling procedures described in these safety rules and elsewhere in the product manual. To further familiarize with the proper use of this or other rearms, take a Firearms Safety Course taught by a rearms use and safety produces. 4. RULE: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND IT. NEVER SHOOT AT WATER OR AT A HARD SURFACE.

Shooting at the surface of water or at a rock or other hard surface increases the chance of ricochets or fragmentation of the bullet or shot, which can result in the projectile striking an unintended or peripheral target. You can't stop a shot in mid-air, so do not re unless you know exactly where your shot is going and what it will strike. Never re at a sound, a movement or a patch of color. A hunter in camou age can easily be mistaken for a target by an impulsive shooter. Before you pull the trigger, be absolutely sure of your target and what's behind it. Make sure your shot has a backstop such as a hillside or dense material like sand. Remember, bullets can travel great distances with tremendous velocity. Know how far your shot will go if you miss your target or the bullet ricochets. If you miss your target or if the bullet penetrates the target, it is your responsibility to ensure that the shot does not cause unintended injury or damage. 5. RULE: USE PROPER AMMUNITION. ONLY USE FACTORY-LOADED, NEW AMMUNITION MANUFACTURED TO INDUSTRY SPECIFICATIONS: CIP (EUROPE AND ELSEWHERE), SAAMI (USA). BE CERTAIN THAT EACH ROUND YOU USE IS IN THE PROPER CALIBER OR GAUGE AND TYPE FOR THE PARTICULAR FIREARM. Ever rearm is designed to use a certain caliber or gauge of ammunition. Using the wrong ammunition, mixing ammunition or using improperly reloaded ammunition can cause serious personal injury or death. And it only takes one cartridge or shot shell of the incorrect caliber or gauge, or which has been improperly reloaded to destroy your rearm. As a gun owner it's your responsibility to make sure the ammunition you use exactly matches the caliber or gauge of your gun. Refer to the instruction manual to nd out the speci c requirements of your rearm. Always read and heed the instructions on ammunition boxes. Confusing shells or cartridges can cause serious personal injury or death and destroy your rearm. Examine your shells and cartridges closely and use only the precise caliber or gauge for your speci c rearm. For example, suppose you accidentally loaded a 20ga. shell into a 12ga. shotgun. Because the 20ga. shell is too small for the chamber, the 20ga. shell could travel down the barrel and get lodged in the bore.if you then loaded a standard 12ga. shell behind it and re, the 12ga. shot will slam into the lodged 20ga. shell and may cause the barrel to explode right in your hands. This is commonly called a 12/20 burst, and it can kill you. Check all ammunition before you load it to make sure it matches your gun's requirements. Every cartridge and shell is head-stamped with its caliber or gauge for easy identi cation.

Many shooters hand load as a hobby or to save money on commercial, factor)made ammunition. However, it requires a thorough knowledge of reloading procedures and a deep respect for the explosive potential of gunpowder. Firearms are designed, manufactured and proof-tested to standards based on factory loaded ammunition. Hand loaded or reloaded ammunition that deviates, either intentionally or inadequately, from load or component recommendations can be very dangerous. Reloaders must observe all possible safety precautions and practices related to the proper handling of explosives. Whether you're a seasoned reloader or just starting out, you should study the subject, watch reloading demonstrations and talk to experienced reloaders. The rst rule of reloading is to always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the components you're using. They'll tell you to follow certain guidelines. Namely: 1. Don't mix or substitute powders or primers. 2. Don't use unknown or substandard components. 3. Use only suitable components that have been factory tested by reputable ammunition, powder and bullet manufacturers. 4. Always be sure to use the manufacturer's recommended recipe when reloading. Not following these guidelines could result in severe damage to your rearm or yourself. Dangerously high pressure and explosions can result from an overcharge of powder, use of the wrong powder, incorrect shot selection or other deviations from established reloading guidelines. Be very careful. Primers and powders are also highly toxic and ammable. So after reloading, be sure to clean up all materials from your work area. Don't leave primer or powder spills anywhere on the oor or bench top. Dispose of all waste materials in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Finally, when reloading or hand loading concentrate on what you're doing at all times. Do not be distracted by talking to others, listening to the radio or watching TV while reloading. Never reload after or while consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs of any kind. You are working with extremely hazardous materials and you can't risk even a few seconds of distraction. Remember, if you reload, you are the ammunition manufacturer and you are responsible for the performance and safety of your reloaded ammunition. Primers and powders are also highly toxic and ammable. So after reloading, be sure to clean up all materials from your work area. Don't leave primer or powder spills anywhere on the oor or bench top. Dispose of all waste materials in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.times.

6. RULE: LEAD WARNING The process of reloading exposes you to environmentally hazardous materials. Lead is the most common substance in bullets and shot. It is important to handle lead bullets and shot with extreme care. Work only in a well-ventilated area and always wash your hands after exposure and before eating. Discharging rearms in poorly ventilated areas, cleaning rearms or handling ammunition may result in exposure to lead and other substances known to cause birth defects, reproductive harm, and other serious physical injury. Have adequate ventilation at all times. Wash hands thoroughly after exposure (i.e. MAINTENANCE). 7. RULE: IF YOUR GUN FAILS TO FIRE WHEN THE TRIGGER IS PULLED, HANDLE WITH CARE! If for some reason the ammunition doesn't re when you pull the trigger, stop and remember the rst Rule - always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Keep your face away from the breech, then put the safety on, carefully open the action, unload the rearm and dispose of the cartridge safely. Remember anytime there's a shell in the chamber, your gun is loaded and ready to use. Even if you tried to shoot and your gun didn't re, treat your rearm as if it could still discharge. 8. RULE: ALWAYS WEAR EYE AND EAR PROTECTION WHEN SHOOTING. Your sight and hearing risk injury from shooting and should be protected at all times. Wear protective shooting glasses to guard against falling shot, clay target chips, powder residue, ruptured cartridge cases and even twigs and branches in the eld. Also be sure to wear eye protection when you're disassembling or cleaning a gun so that tensioned parts (like springs) and cleaning solvents don't come in contact with your eyes. Continued exposure to shooting noise can permanently damage your hearing. On the range, where shooting volume is the loudest, be sure to use the maximum protection of a headset. And learn to use earplugs in the eld, especially in con ned locations like duck blinds.

9. RULE: BE SURE THE BARRELS CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTIONS BEFORE SHOOTING. Before loading your gun, open the action and make sure there's no ammunition in the chamber or magazine. Check the barrel for any obstructions or debris. Even a small amount of snow, mud, excess lubricant or grease in the bore can dangerously increase pressure and cause the barrel to bulge or burst when ring. Use a cleaning rod and patch to wipe away anti-rust compounds or any other residues or obstructions in the barrel. Never try to shoot out an obstruction by loading another shell and ring! When ring, rely on your instincts. If the noise or recoil of your rearm seems off or weak, stop everything, unload your rearm and be sure nothing is lodged in the barrel. Remember the 12/20 burst? That's what can happen when the barrel is obstructed. So always be sure you're using the correct ammunition in your rearm and that it's free of obstructions. 10. RULE: DON T ALTER OR MODIFY YOUR GUN AND HAVE IT SERVICED REGULARLY Your rearm has been designed to operate according to certain factor)' speci cations. You ll jeopardize your safety and that of others around you by attempting to alter its trigger, safety or other mechanisms. So never alter or modify your rearm in any way. Like any mechanical device, a rearm is subject to wear. It must be maintained and periodically serviced to assure optimum safety and performance. Don't allow anyone to service, repair or modify your CASALTA rearm unless they are a quali ed CASALTA service facility. Consult your instruction manual for instructions on how to send your rearm to the factor)' or for the location of the nearest CASALTA repair station. Store and carry your rearm so that dirt or lint does not accumulate in the working parts. Clean and oil your rearm, following the instructions provided in this manual, after each use to prevent corrosion, damage to the barrel or accumulation of impurities which can prevent use of the gun in an emergency. Always check the barrel prior to loading to ensure that it is clean and free from obstructions. Firing against an obstruction can rupture the barrel and injure yourself or others nearby. In case you hear an unusual noise when shooting, stop ring immediately, engage the manual safety and unload the rearm. Make sure the chamber is free from any obstruction or possible bullet blocked inside the barrel due to defective or improper ammunition. Proper cleaning and lubrication are also important to rearm maintenance and are necessary to assure accuracy, safety and reliability. Before cleaning, always make sure that your gun is completely unloaded. And always clean the barrel from the chamber end to the muzzle when possible.

Make it a practice to clean your bore every time you're going to shoot. Be sure to clean your entire gun before and after long-term storage, and no less than once a year. It's also important to clean your gun whenever it's been exposed to adverse conditions such as rain, dirt, mud, snow, and sleet or saltwater. For safe and dependable operation of your rearm, all parts of your gun must be properly cleaned and lubricated. Periodically inspect the internal workings of your rearm to be sure they're clean and free of rust, unwanted dirt and debris. Use recommended lubricants on your gun and do not over-lubricate. Excessive use of a non-recommended lubricant could adversely affect the function and safe operation of your rearm. Remember, you are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of your rearm. Failure to properly maintain your rearm can not only damage or ruin your rearm, it can expose you and others to unnecessary risks of personal injury or death. There are a wide range of rearm care products and resources on the market to help you get the best results cleaning your gun. Everything from solvents and lubricants to rods and patches. They're all available from your dealer. OPERATING SYSTEM Tine CASALTA shotgun is a gas operated, auto loading shotgun. It is capable of shooting up to ve shots (with the magazine plug removed using 1 3/4" loads) in rapid succession with each pull of the trigger. Upon ring, high pressure gas from behind the shot charge passes through two ports in the barrel, through the gas bracket and into the gas cylinder. High pressure gases force the gas piston rearward, applying pressure to the piston rod. As the piston rod moves rearward, it pushes the bolt assembly rearward, operating the action. As the bolt assembly moves rearward, it recocks the hammer and ejects the red shell. After full rearward travel, the bolt assembly returns forward, picking up a new shell from the magazine and chambering it automatically. After the last shell has been red, the bolt assembly locks to the rear, instead of returning forward. This facilitates speedy reloading. NOMENCLATURE

WARNING: Do not attempt to make repairs to any rearm without proper knowledge or training. Do not alter parts or use substitute parts not made by CASALTA. Any alterations or adjustments that may be necessary to the operating mechanism should be performed by the Manufacturer or by its Distributor. SAFETY The safety is on. The gun cannot re. The CASALTA Over & Under is shipped partially disassembled (barrel/fore-end and stock/action body). To assemble the shotgun, proceed as follows: Remove the fore-end from the barrels by pulling the fore-end catch lever down. Do not attempt to assemble barrels to receiver with the fore-end attached (Photo5) Wipe excess rust preventative oil from the Monobloc and from the inside surfaces of the receiver. The hinge pin area is a very important mating surface. The receiver fore-end iron subject to very high loads. PROPER OILING: Areas to lubricate are indicated by the red arrows on the photo. Improper lubrication of these components can cause seizing of parts or malfunctioning of the shotgun. Before using this shotgun, make sure that lubricant is present as instructed. (Photo 6)

Open the top lever to the right. When barrels are not assembled to the receiver, the top lever remains locked in the open position (right). (Photo 7) CAUTION: The top lever must be in the open position before the barrel is assembled. Failure to do so will cause damage to the gun. Insert the Monobloc inside the action so that the hinge pins of the receiver t into the corresponding slots in the Monobloc. Because the parts are standard you can insert easily. (Photo 8) NOTE: To make the insert easy during the assembly the barrel-receiver keep pushing the top lever completely to right. After insert release the top lever. Swing the barrels upward smoothly and evenly. When the barrels are locked into the action, the top lever snaps to its centered position (Photo 9) Fit the fore-end to the barrels by placing the fore-end iron (the curved steel component at the rear of the fore-end) over the end of the receiver so that the fore-end itself slips into position under the barrels. (Photo 10) Swing the fore-end upward and press forcefully to allow the fore-end catch lever to catch the barrel hook. The operation is done correctly when the fore-end catch lever ts ush with its seat (Photo 11) AMMUNITION WARNING: CASALTA assumes no responsibility for physical injury or property damage resulting from the use of defective, improper, hand-loaded, reloaded or remanufactured ammunition. Serious damage and injury, and even death, could result from the use of incorrect ammunition, from ring against bore obstructions and from propellant overloads. CASALTA Over & Under Shotguns feature 3" (76 mm) chambers. You will nd the markings for the gauge and chamber length for your shotgun on the side of the barrel. Every gun has been tested with special proof test ammunition. WARNING: Never use cartridges that do not correspond to the markings on the side of the barrel. WARNING: Use only cartridges with a length equal (76 mm -3") to or less (70 mm2 %") than the chamber length indicated on the side of the barrel. WARNING: To avoid use of improper ammunition, check markings on the cartridge itself to ensure that the correct gauge and length of shell is used for your rearm. WARNING: CASALTA does not recommend any of our shotguns for use with reloads, steel shot or otherwise.

LOADING AND FIRING WARNING: Read and familiarize yourself with the loading and unloading procedure for this shotgun by reading this manual prior to using the shotgun. Do not use a loaded rearm until you can perform these procedures correctly. Before loading the gun, make sure that the safety is on. A safety is fully engaged only when it can move no further into the safe position. In that position the marking "S" is fully visible (Photo 1 and 3). A safety which is not fully engaged will not prevent weapon discharge. Always point the rearm in a safe direction! WARNING: The shooter and bystanders must always wear eye and hearing protection. Particles of shot, lead, powder, lubricant, etc. may cause injury to persons. Hearing protection reduces the risk of hearing damage caused by exposure to shooting noise. 1. With the gun assembled (see "ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS"), rotate the top lever to the right and open the chamber by rotating the barrels downwards. 2. Hold the barrels up to the light and look down the barrels to make sure that they are free of any obstructions. 3. Insert a cartridge of the proper gauge into the chamber of the barrel you want to use, or into both chambers for two shots. 4. Close the gun. Be sure that the top lever has moved fully to its center position. Engage the safety if it is not already engaged. NOTICE: Some models feature an auto-safety device that automatically engages the safety every time the barrel is completely opened. NOTICE: The gun features a SINGLE SELECTIVE TRIGGER, the pull on the trigger allows the gun to re rst the barrel you have selected with the barrel selector: Pushing the safety/selector to the left res rst the upper barrel (Photo 2). "O" (Over) should be visible. Pushing the safety/selector to the right res rst the bottom barrel (Photo 4). "U" (Under) should be visible. WARNING: Always keep your ngers away from the trigger and keep it free from any form of contact whenever you do not intend to re. 5. When you are ready to re, disengage the safety (push the safety) and pull the trigger. This will re the barrel you have selected to re rst. WARNING: If the gun does not re on a live cartridge when the trigger is pulled, activate the safety, wait one minute, then open the chamber and manually extract the un red cartridge. 6. Completely release the trigger after the rst shot to reset the gun for the next shot. There is no need to operate the barrel selector (safety button) since the gun is automatically ready to re the second cartridge. 7. To re a second shot from the second barrel, pull the trigger again or pull the second trigger.

UNLOADING a. After ring or to otherwise unload the gun, engage the safety. (A) b. Move the top lever to the right. (B) c. Open the chamber by holding the receiver in place and by rotating the barrels downwards (C) d. To unload the gun, manually remove the cartridge/s. (D) e. Check to ensure that both chambers are unloaded. WARNING: Always unload your rearm before placing it in a vertical position such as against a wall, fence, tree, etc. The gun may fall from a standing position with suf cient force to be discharged. DECOCKING THE HAMMERS Decock the hammers using the procedure described below when the gun is unloaded to allow the springs to remain in an uncompressed state. If you will not re, never cock the gun. It is important not to decock the hammers on an unloaded gun without the use of snap caps or empty shells to avoid damage to the ring pins. 1. Open the gun. Unload the gun. (See "Unloading the shotgun"). 2. Insert snap caps or empty shells into the chambers. 3. Pull the trigger to decock the rst hammer. 4. Move the selector to the second position. 5. Pull the trigger to decock the second hammer. 6. Take off the fore-end before you open the gun. (Photo 5) 7. Take out the snap caps or empty shells, close the gun and replace the foreend. DISASSEMBLY OPERATIONS (END USER ONLY) 1. Check to ensure the chamber is empty. 2. Remove the fore-end from the barrels by pulling the foreend catch lever down. (Photo 5) 3. Move the top lever to the right. (Photo 7) 4. Fully open the chamber by pivoting the muzzle end of the barrels downward. Lift the barrels out of the receiver. (Photo 8) The top lever remains open. 5. Replace the fore-end onto the barrels and press it to catch the barrel hook. 6 NOTICE: It is advisable to place the top lever in its centered position when the shotgun is being stored or transported in a gun case. (Photo 13) a. Move the top lever completely to the right (A), b. Depress the locking bolt catch and then release the top lever. Top lever is in its centered position. (B)

CAUTION: No further disassembly of component parts is recommended unless done by a competent gunsmith. USAGE OF CHOKE TUBES Choke screw-in choke tubes are made of high-grade steel for corrosion resistance and durability with special heat treatment. CASALTA Over & UNDER Shotgun is supplied together with 5 choke tubes. These chokes have notch to 5 notches in their top rim for different purposes. All choke tubes are designed for use with factor cartridges loaded to standard speci cations. CASALTA tubes are also inscribed on the side with the patterns F, IM, M, IC, CL they produce with lead shot. CASALTA tubes are fully interchangeable. You can use them with other CASALTA products. CASALTA-CHOKE COOES (OEFINITION) To identify CASALTA tubes, use the identi cation mark(s) located on the top rim of each tube. These notches are a code to allow you to determine the choke designation while the tube is installed. CHOKE TUBE SELECTION To help you choose the correct choke tube for each hunting situation, all choke tubes are inscribed on the side with the patterns they produce with lead shot. The notches on the rim and pattern designation on the side are only for lead shot. For steel shot you will need to use the cart below to cross-reference from lead to steel and determine appropriate tubes for your ammunition and hunting/shooting situation. Since steel shot generally patterns tighter than conventional lead shot loads, it would be wise to avoid the use of steel shot altogether in conventionally choked "FULL CHOKE" barrels. "MODIFIED CHOKE" barrels generally deliver "FULL CHOKE" patterns when used with steel shot.

WARNING: Whenever handling any shotgun for the purpose of removing or installing a choking device, make absolutely certain the gun is fully unloaded, and the action is open. Never attempt to remove or install a shotgun choking device on a loaded rearm. REMOVAL OF CHOKE TUBES WARNING: Check the rearm is unloaded. If not, unload the rearm by operating as described in the chapter "Unloading the shotgun". WARNING: Never look into the muzzle or change tubes on a loaded gun, even with safety engaged. Either open the action or lift the barrel out of the receiver. Unscrew (counterclockwise) the choke tubes with the choke tube wrench supplied (Photo 14). Remove the choke tubes from the muzzle. CLEANING OF CHOKE TUBES WARNING: Check the rearm is unloaded. If not, unload the rearm by operating as described in the chapter "Unloading the shotgun". WARNING: Never look into the muzzle or change tubes on a loaded gun, even with safety engaged. 1. Either open the action or lift the barrel out of the receiver. 2. Carefully clean the choke housing. If necessary, use a cotton patch coated with gun oil. 3. Check the choke to make sure it is perfectly clean inside and outside. 4. Apply a thin coat of gun oil to the threads of the barrels and of the choke tubes. INSTALLATION OF CHOKE TUBES WARNING: Check the rearm is unloaded. If not, unload the rearm by operating as described in the chapter "Unloading the shotgun". WARNING: Never look into the muzzle or change tubes on a loaded gun, even with safety engaged. 1. Either open the action or lift the barrel out of the receiver. 2. Apply a thin coat of gun oil to the threads of the barrels and of the choke tubes. 3. Insert the desired chokes into the choke housings. 4. Carefully hand screws the chokes into the barrels clockwise. Using the choke tube wrench tighten the chokes until they are fully bottomed into their recesses in the barrels. 5. Remove the choke tube wrench after tightening. WARNINGS 1. Never shoot choke barrels without using choke tubes. Shooting without choke tubes is very dangerous as debris could be trapped by the threads and create barrel obstructions. This situation is very dangerous when ring and may cause damage to the shotgun and serious injury to the shooter and bystanders. It may also cause erratic shot pattern and can damage the barrel's internal screw' thread irreparably.

2. Choke tubes must be kept correctly tightened in the barrels at all times, even during storage and cleaning. Cleaning barrels with no choke tubes in place can push dirt into the barrel threads, causing improper choke installation, rusting, or barrel obstruction. 3. Periodically check, with the unloaded and opened chambers, w'hethcr the chokes are fully and tightly set into the barrel. If necessary, rmly tighten the chokes, using the choke tube wrrench until they can be tighten no more. This tightening is needed to avoid damage to the barrels and to avoid propelling the chokes out of the muzzle when the gun is red, which may cause damage to the gun or injury to persons. MAINTENANCE (CLEANING AND OILING) On CASALTA shotguns, maintenance has been reduced to a minimum, but that minimum must be performed to ensure safe and reliable functioning and a longer service life for the shotgun. WARNING: At the end of a day of shooting, clean and lubricate your shotgun. At the end of the hunting season, or annually, have your gun completely cleaned, including internal mechanisms, by a competent gunsmith. Proper periodic maintenance is important for the reliable functioning of any rearm. WARNING: Before cleaning, make sure the gun is unloaded. Keep the chamber open. WARNING: To minimize the possibility of damage to the screw-in choke inserts and the barrel threads, it is recommended that a set of choke inserts be kept correctly tightened into the barrel at all times, including storage and cleaning. Cleaning the barrels without the choke inserts in place can push dirt and other fouling into the barrel threads, which will interfere with proper installation of the choke inserts. 1. Disassemble the rearm. 2. Clean the bore with care by passing a cleaning rod with a cotton patch coated with gun oil to remove combustion residues. If necessary, use a bronze brush. Also include the chambers in your cleaning operation. 3. Run a clean dry patch through the bore to remove oil residues. 4. Lightly oil the inside of the barrels with a clean cotton patch coated in gun oil. 5. With similar procedure, clean the internal face of the action body (especially around the ring pin holes) and lubricate lightly. WARNING: Do not pour lubricant into the ring pin holes. 6. Clean and lubricate lightly the mechanism of the fore-end iron and relative hook of the barrels.

WARNING: The hinge pin area is a very important mating surface. The receiver and foreend iron are subject to very high loads. Improper lubrication of these components can cause seizing of parts or malfunctioning of the shotgun. (The areas to lubricate are indicated by the arrows on Photo 6). Before using this shotgun, make sure that lubricant is present as instructed. 7. Clean with care the external surfaces of the gun to remove any trace of dirt, sweat and ngerprints. Apply a thin lm of gun oil with a cotton patch. WARNING: Use lubricants properly: you are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of your rearm. Do not apply excess oil. Accumulation of oil attracts dirt, which can interfere with the functioning and reliability of the gun. WARNING: Excess oil and grease obstructing the bore - even partially - is very' dangerous when ring and may cause damage to the shotgun and serious injury to the shooter and bystanders. WARNING: Never spray or apply oil to the shot shells. If the shot shell charge is affected by the lubricant, it may not be ignited, but the primer ring may push shot into the bore where they may be lodged. Firing a subsequent shot into the obstructed bore may damage the gun and cause serious injury or death to the shooter and those nearby. WARNING: Once disassembled, the rearm (barrel/fore-end and receiver/stock) should be stored in the supplied case or box. Before storage, always check the conditions of the gun and its case or box. Make sure that they are perfectly dry. Moisture and water could cause damage to the shotgun. WARNING: Do not store a shotgun in a leather scabbard. Leather attracts moisture even though it may appear to be perfectly dry. Moisture results in rust.
