Parkway comes into the game after dropping a decision to Haughton. The Bucs unloaded early and often on the Panthers taking a 35-7 lead into the locker room at the half. Haughton quarterback James Almond threw four first half touchdown passes. Parkway starting quarterback Kolby Copeland missed the first quarter of the game due to missing practice on Monday because of an out-of-town baseball showcase tournament he participated in. Copeland finished the night hitting on 11of-19 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Thomas Moore was on the receiving end of both touchdown passes. Moore had three catches for 33 yards and touchdown catches of 10 and 23 yards. Backup quarterback Brandon Harris was just 7-of -18 passing for a paltry 72 yards and an interception. Malcolm Rogers was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 75 yards and Cole Crook took in six passes for 68 yards. SERIES Shreve leads series 24-8 Last year: Parkway 31, Captain Shreve 14 Last Shreve win: 2006, Captain Shreve 22, Parkway 14 Streaks Shreve: won 11 in a row from Parkway: 2 in a row, ; THE OPPONENT: Parkway Panthers continue success Parkway is concluding its seventh consecutive winning season and with a win will have 8 wins or better for the fourth time in the last five years. The Panthers finished 10-2 last season and were 8-3 in both 2009 and They were 7-4 in 2008 and has posted a record since 2005 including this season. This season will also be their seventh straight playoff appearance. THE COACHES Richard Lary (13-17) is in his third season at the helm for Captain Shreve. Coach Lary compiled a 9-12 record in his previous two season and took the Gators to the playoffs his first season. He came to Captain Shreve after stints at Byrd, Huntington and Woodlawn. David Feaster (0-0) is in his first season as the head coach at Parkway. Feaster has been a head coach the past 13 seasons at three different schools. His overall record including this season is

2 Page 2 Game 10, Captain Shreve (4-5, 1-3) vs. Parkway (7-2, 2-2) Last week Byrd s defense was too hard for the Shreve offense to crack through on a wet, cool dreary night at Lee Hedges Stadium. The Yellow Jackets held Chris Hunter (13 carries, 31 yards) below 100 yards for the first time since the second game of the season against Ouachita (15-21). The Jackets were able to keep the Gators from crossing the goal line despite having five turnovers; 4 fumbles and an interception by Marvin Davis, his fourth of the season. The Gators had the ball three times inside the Byrd 30 in the first half and only had 3 points to show for it. The other two chances ended in an incomplete pass and a blocked field goal. Byrd on the other hand turned both of it s fumble recoveries into points. The Yellow Jackets only had to travel 53 yards in four plays for their first points of the night. Richard Carthon ran the final 27 of those yards. Thirteen seconds later Treyvon Sims picked up a Gator fumble at the 10 and ran it in for a 14-0 Byrd lead. Shreve cut it to 14-3 on a 39- yard field goal by Brandon Duncan, 1:29 before halftime. Byrd took the second half kickoff and marched 66 yards in five plays, capped off with a 36-yard run by Carthon. A three and out by Shreve gave the ball right back to Byrd and it marched just 45 yards in four plays for the score and a 28-3 advantage. The Jackets final tally on the night came after the Shreve punter shanked a kick out of bounds for just seven yards to give Byrd the ball at the Shreve 25. The school record for a season is 23 in 1973, 74 and 83. Hunter surpasses 1,000 Chris Hunter s 126 yards against Haughton pushed him past 1,000 for the season with 1,037. He is the first back since Sean Washington in 1988 to pass that mark. Haughton plays keep away The Bucs took a 19-6 lead into the second half last week and preserved that margin by keeping the ball from the Gators allowing Shreve only three possessions. Safety Scored When Anthony Richard tackled the Southwood punter for a Saftety it was the first safety scored by Shreve since 2007 against Southwood and Shreve had two in that game. One point wins The one point win was the first since a win over Fair Park in Fourth quarter Field Goals The last time Shreve kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter to win a game was in 1984 against Fair Park. Jimmy Martin booted a 23 yarder for the 9-6 win. Three throw for touchdowns Captain Shreve has had three players throw TD passes this season, the first time since 2007 when Marc Kimball, Travis Anderson and James Scroggins did it. School record punt return Anthony Broadway set a school record by returning a punt 86 yards for a touchdown against Natchitoches. School record tied for punts in a game Andrew Doughty tied a school record with 9 punts vs. Ouachita. He averaged 43.9 yards per punt and averaged 55.4 on his last five kicks.
