We came out third quarter and executed but I think we have got do a lot better job of stopping the run on defense and we have got to finish drives and not turn the ball over on offense. On improving the run defense All you can do is go practice and that is what we got to do, we got to go out to practice and get better at it. We got to get our eyes right, lot of motions and stuff to take our eyes. We just got to go back to fundamentals and do the little things right, making form tackles, wrapping up and stopping the run. On creating opportunities to get turnovers The biggest thing is you go to get in third and long, long yardage situations, I think if we do that, I think we got guys that can rush the passer. We got to get ahead of the chains; we cannot give them five or six yards on first down. We got to win first down and get them in long yardage situation. On Shea breaking the passing record He keeps getting better, but I think we can improve even more. There are a lot of points left on the field, a lot of yards left. I want to make sure we continue to get better game-togame. I m not sure the first half we did that today. On the run game I am going to have to go back and look at it and see. When we turn the ball over we give up points, so we just need to make sure we do the little things right. Ole Miss Student-Athletes #5, Damarcus Lodge, WR On the passing game We just come out every day and work. Those guys in the locker room push me. It s so competitive in there. We go out and have friendly competition. We have great guys in that locker room and they help me come out and be my best everyday. On his teammates inspiring him Yeah man, when he s (A.J. Brown) making plays I feel like I m making them too. I live through him. We fuel each other. Seeing him ball out makes me want to ball out. On Shea Patterson breaking the passing record I m so happy for him. He worked hard all summer and I knew he could do it, so it wasn t a surprise for me, but I m happy for him. On how he creates time for Shea Patterson That s when it gets fun. It just turns to backyard football, and then you just search for grass. He s so good at making room to throw the ball, so it just gets fun after that. On how to continue this momentum throughout the season We can t get complacent, we have to come out and work even harder than we did the past couple of weeks. We have great opponents coming up and like I said we just have to keep working, can t get complacent. #20, Shea Patterson, QB On Setting the record for most passing yards in a game

20 It s crazy. I didn t even notice. You re kind of just out there playing, and then at the end of the game they said hey you ve got the record, and I was like what are you taking about?. To be even mentioned in the same breath as Eli and Archie is an honor. We just had fun tonight, and it takes more than one person to break so I just want to thank my teammates. On what Brown and Lodge s performance has meant to him They have been huge. They have made so many great catches, balls that easily could have been batted down. They just went all out and made plays for the team, and it s intriguing because any one of those guys can have a game like that. That s what makes us so dangerous; we have so many weapons. On what changed from the first half to the third quarter Obviously these wins are awesome and we are going to enjoy them. I think that is the one thing we have to work on is stepping on the gas early and getting the tempo going early. Part of that is on me. That s one thing we are going to work on this week, getting better. Tomorrow is a workday; we have to go to work for Cal tomorrow. I think is we play at our level from the get-go I don t think anyone can beat us. On whether or not the team needs to get faster We always want to get a little bit faster, there is always room for improvement. If we went 75 mph this week we d want to go 85 next week, 95 the next week and eventually get to , JAVIEN HAMILTON, DB On what it felt like to get an interception It felt great, it always feels good to help your teammates out. We ve just got to keep playing and hopefully there will be many more to come. On where he thinks the defense is right now I think we are pretty good but we ve still got a little way to go. We just have to come to practice this week ready to ride. Obviously we didn t do a good job of tackling in the first half, but we just have to clean that up and we should be good. On the upcoming week at Cal and beginning SEC play We are just going to take it one game at a time. Going to Cal we are going to do what we have to do. We are going to have to come back tomorrow and get in the film room to scout them out. We will have to go out there and play to the best of our ability.

21 UT Martin Head Coach Jason Simpson Opening Statement... First of all, I am proud of our players. I thought we played hard. On why we lose, penalties and turnover and to give them credit. They have an outstanding quarterback. Here s the thing, you blitz them, with big wideouts on the outside we couldn t match up in zero coverage. When they play zone, of course they can run around and make a couple plays and stuff. You have to pick your poison and decide what they are going to do. I am sure people were yelling at us to blitz them, but then they had a couple fade balls that they got us on. It just didn t match up. I was proud of our kids. (Ladarius) Galloway had 24 carries with 188 yards, we knew coming into this game we had to slow it down, had to huddle, get on each center and eat the clock up. We had to get some deceptive run plays. That s not our total offense, but I felt that was what we had to do to give our guys a chance to compete and we did that. Got it to half at and then they obviously came back out and went to empty and realized that s how they wanted to attack us. I take my hat off, I think a lot of Coach (Matt) Luke, I have known him for a long-time as he is a Mississippi guy. You see the Ole Miss pride through and through with him and I talked to him before and after the game and I think this University would be proud to have him continue to lead this program. I think he is an outstanding individual and I wish him the best of luck throughout the rest of the year. I am proud of my guys and we will load up and get Chattanooga next week on the road, which is a top-10 FCS program, which may have some playoff indication for us down the road. We will go back to work this week. On his team This is a better team than we brought in here in This is also a team that if it comes together and continues to be coachable, and continue to work on body language and attitude, they can be as good as they want to be. When we got down a little bit I saw cracks, but I like the vibe in the locker room. I don t see any guys just proud to hang close. I see a group of guys knowing that if they had played a little better could have got it to a one score game in the fourth quarter and try to make something happen. I think the jury is still out on us, but are we talented? Yeah, but we have to continue to get better. On Ladarius Galloway I am proud of him. We could see in the spring he had talent. He has good vision and he schemes. He is kind of short so he gets behind these big linemen and comes out of them. I am proud of him. This is his home state so to be able to come out here in front of his family and friends is something him and I talked about when I recruited him. I said, hey game two you get to go to Ole Miss and we both have something in common. We are both from Mississippi and get to play against them. That s probably why he ended up coming to play for us. He is probably pretty proud and I am sure he wishes we could have

22 had a chance to get the win. On the depth of the league It is good news and bad news. It is great news for the league. You saw that last week with Tennessee State getting a win over Georgia State. I am very proud of the league for that. Now, the bad news for the Skyhawks is we continue to go throughout the year with those quality teams week after week. You get four days of practice, you load up and you execute and somebody s going to win and somebody s going to lose. We have to make sure that we don t think that just because we held this game close that Chattanooga cares next week. All games start zero to zero and you get six points for a touchdown so we need to make sure we get back to work tomorrow.
