Madrid, Spain THE TOURNAMENT FIELD Auburn will face a challenging tournament field at the Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course for the NCAA Central Regional Championship as nine of the 24 teams are ranked in the top 25 of either the GolfWeek Ratings, the GolfWorld/NGCA Coaches Poll or the GolfStat Rankings. Teams ranked in the top 25 are No. 3/4/3 Southern California, No. 5/5/4 Auburn, No. 10/10/9 Georgia, No. 12/9/10 Vanderbilt, No. 15/12/14 Tennessee, No. 19/20/16 Ohio State, No. 22/21/21 Oregon, No. 24/22/22 North Carolina State and No. 25/24 Florida State. Other teams in the field are Virginia, Purdue, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas State, South Florida, Notre Dame, Texas-San Antonio, East Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina-Wilmington, Harvard, Butler, Siena. AN SEC AFFAIR Eleven of the 12 SEC teams advanced to the NCAA Regional Championships with the Central Region getting the most at seven. Three teams (Alabama, Florida and South Carolina) are in the East while one (LSU) is in the West. The East Regional is being played at the Penn State Golf Club - Blue Course in State College, Pa., while the West Regional is a Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo. CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS The NCAA Central Regional features six conference champions, including Auburn. Others are South Florida (Big East), Texas-San Antonio (Southland), North Carolina-Wilmington (Colonial), Harvard (Ivy), Butler (Horizon) and Siena (MAAC). AUBURN PICKS UP SEC HONORS The Auburn women s golf team was well-represented in the SEC post-season awards. Head Coach Kim Evans was named Co-SEC Coach of the Year, marking the fifth time she has earned the league s top coaching honor. Senior Patricia Sanz was named to the All-SEC First Team while her sister, Marta Sanz, was named to the All-SEC Second Team. Freshman Victoria Trapani also picked up a pair of awards, earning All-SEC Second Team and SEC All-Freshman Team honors.

The Tigers own.500 or better records against 17 teams and is undefeated against 13 of them. Auburn s record against Central Regional teams this season: Arkansas (4-0-1), East Carolina (1-0), Florida State (4-1), Georgia (4-2), Kentucky (5-0), Ole Miss (5-0), North Carolina State (2-0), North Carolina-Wilmington (1-0), Notre Dame (3-0), Ohio State (1-0), Oregon (1-0-1), Purdue (0-2), South Florida (1-0-1), Southern California (1-1), Tennessee (3-0), Texas-San Antonio (2-0), Vanderbilt (2-0) and Virginia (2-1). THE INDIVIDUALS Six individuals were chosen for the NCAA Central Regional, they are: Madeleine Shiels, Nebraska; Alex Buelow, Stetson; Rika Park, Miami (Fla.); Brittany Henderson, Costal Carolina; Leticia Ras-Anderica, Miami (Fla.); and Gabriella Wahl, East Tennessee State. THE WEATHER Weather is expected to be good through most of the 54-hole tournament. Thursday is predicted for a high of 65, low of 42 and no chance of rain. Friday should have a high of 71, low of 48 with no chance of rain. Saturday s final round is expected to see a high of 75, low of 56 with a 10% chance of showers. AUBURN AT THE NCAA CENTRAL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Auburn is playing in the NCAA Regional Championship for the 19th time in the team s history and the 17th time in a row. The Tigers last missed Regionals in Auburn s best finish ever at NCAA Regionals was a first-place finish in 2005, following runner-up finishes in 2001 and The top individual finish at Regionals for a Tiger also came in 2005 when Diana Ramage won the title at the Texas Tech Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas. This marks Auburn s fifth appearance in the Central Regional after playing in the East Regional 13 times. In the GolfWeek ratings, Victoria Trapani is ranked as the No. 31 women s collegiate player in the nation. Behind Trapani, Auburn has two other golfers in the GolfWeek top-50 ratings: Marta Sanz (37) and Carlie Yadloczky (50). KIM EVANS AT THE NCAA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Auburn head coach Kim Evans has taken the Tigers to the NCAA Regional Championship in 16 of her previous 17 years on the Plains, with 1995 being the only exception. Of those 16 Regional appearances, Auburn has advanced to the NCAA

4 Championships 13 times with the 2004, 2009 and 2011 seasons being the only time they have failed to advance. Evans has led her team to a Regional Championship in 2005, two runner-up finishes and nine top-five finishes. THE COURSE The Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course is a par-72, 18-hole course located in Columbus, Ohio. Alister MacKenzie and Perry Maxwell designed the Scarlet Course, which opened in In 2005 and 2006, the course underwent a restoration project that was overseen by golf legend Jack Nicklaus. The course plays at 7,455 from the back tees and will play at 6,264 yards for the tournament. AUBURN AT THE SCARLET COURSE Auburn is making its third postseason appearance at the Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course. The Tigers played the course at the NCAA Championship in 1997 and 2006, and played a Regional at the course in Auburn finished 13th at NCAAs in 1997 and 12th in In the team s lone Regional appearance on the course, the Tigers advanced to NCAAs after finishing in a tie for seventh. Former Tiger Celeste Troche led the way with a third-place finish that year. AUBURN SCARLET COURSE RECORDS Auburn s best team 18-hole score at the Scarlet Course is a 296 from the third round of the 1997 NCAA Championship. The best 54-hole team score is a 904 after three rounds at the 2006 NCAA Championship. The top individual single-round score is a 69, carded by Marci Clemons (1997, 3rd round) and Celeste Troche (2000, 2nd round). The best individual 54-hole score is a 217 by Troche in AROUND THE SEC Freshman Victoria Trapani enters the NCAA Central Regional Championship as the No. 15-ranked golfer in the SEC, by stroke average, with her Trapani is one of three Auburn golfers ranked in the top 20, followed by Marta Sanz (74.04) at 16th and Carlie Yadloczky (74.48) at 20th. Also ranked are Haley Wilson (75.58) at 31st and Patricia Sanz (75.88) at 36th. Arkansas Emily Tubert leads the conference with a As a team, Auburn ranks fourth in the SEC with a stroke average. Alabama leads the conference with a average. LEADERSHIP ACROSS THE BOARD All five players in Auburn s lineup own scoring averages in the 70s and have demonstrated the ability to shoot low and lead the team in tournaments. Throughout the season all five players have carded top-20 finishes, with four players taking top-5 finishes. Marta Sanz is second on the team with a stroke average, but leads with four top-10 finishes, one individual tournament win and eight sub-par rounds. FOUR INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT WINS Carding four individual wins in the regular season, this marks the first time in Auburn women s golf history that each individual win came from a different player. The four victories also tie for the most ever by Auburn in a single season. The Tigers season opened with their first individual win by Carlie Yadloczky at The Mo morial with a 3-under 213. Marta Sanz took home the second individual win in the second tournament of the season at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational with a 9-under 207. In the spring season opener, freshman Victoria Trapani carded a 3-under 213 to take the third individual win. VICTORIA TRAPANI IS THE FIFTH FRESHMEN IN AUBURN HISTORY TO WIN AN INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT TITLE With her first individual win of her collegiate career, freshman Victoria Trapani is one of only four freshmen to ever card an individual win in their freshmen season. Trapani earned three top-five finishes for the season, with the second lowest stroke average for the season. The last Tiger to win an individual title as a freshman was Cydney Clanton in 2007 at the Mercedes- Benz Championship. SISTER ACT The NCAA Central Regional Championship will feature some sisterly competition with an Auburn flair. Two sisters, Marta and Patricia Sanz, will make up part of Auburn s lineup. Patricia is a senior and making her fourth appearance at an NCAA Regional while Marta, a sophomore, is making her second. AUBURN WINS 9TH SEC CHAMPIONSHIP Auburn carded a three-round score of 916 to edge out host Arkansas by a stroke and win the 2012 SEC Championship. The title was the ninth all-time for Auburn and eighth for head coach Kim Evans. It was also the second in a row and third in the last four years for Auburn. Senior Patricia Sanz led the way by winning the individual title with a 3-over 219. She became just the sixth Auburn player all-time to win the tournament. Freshman Victoria Trapani also finished in the top 10, finishing in a tie for eighth with a 229. Carding a 3-under 213, Yadloczky recorded her first individual win. Freshmen Victoria Trapani and Nicole Quinn tied for sixth with a 5-over 221 in their first tournaments of their collegiate careers. Also taking a top-20 finish, Marta Sanz carded a 11-over 227 to tie for 13th. TIGERS TAKE THIRD AT THE LADY TAR HEEL INVITA- TIONAL In their second tournament of the season, the Tigers clinched their second top-3 finish, carding a 3-under 861. Marta Sanz took home her first individual win at 9-under 207, carding all sub-par rounds. Haley Wilson recorded her best finish of the season at 14th with a even-par 216. The Tigers carded five sub-par rounds throughout the tournament. AUBURN TAKES THIRD IN THE PAC-10/SEC CHAL- LENGE Carding a 15-over 879 in the PAC-10/SEC Challenge, the Tigers finished third. Marta Sanz tied for third with a 2-under 214 for the tournament. Carlie Yadloczky finished in a tie for seventh, at 1-over 217. Carding the lowest round for the tournament was Patricia Sanz with a 68 in the second round of tournament play. AU CLOSES OUT FALL WITH A SECOND PLACE FINISH IN THE LANDFALL TRADITION Auburn wrapped up the fall season at The Landfall Tradition recording their fourth top-5 finsih for the fall season. Freshman Victoria Trapani carded her first top-5, tying for second at 5-over 221. Patricia Sanz carded her best finish of the season at 14-over 230 to tie for 16th. TIGERS WIN THEIR FIRST TOURNAMENT OF THE SPRING SEASON AT CENTRAL FLORIDA CHALLENGE The Tigers opened the spring season with a win at the Central Florida Challenge carding a 1-under 863 and an individual win from Victoria Trapani. Trapani carded her lowest score of of the season at 3-under 213, recording her lowest round of a 68. Diana Fernandez took her first top-5 finish, carding the low second round of 67 and tying for fourth at 1-under 215. AUBURN TIES FOR EIGHTH AT ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL INTERCOLLEGIATE Auburn continued the spring season at the AllState Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, finishing tied for eighth with a 33-over 897. Marta Sanz took another top-10 finish at eighth carding a 2-iver 218, while Carlie Yadloczky tied for 21st as an individual with 7-over 223. Coming off of her first individual win Victoria Trapani tied for 25th at a 8-over 224. TIGERS TIE FOR SIXTH IN SUNTRUST WOMEN S GA- TOR INVITATIONAL Auburn took another top-10 finish at the SunTrust Women s Gator Inviational, tying for sixth with 45-over 885. Marta Sanz carded her fourth top-10 finish for the season at 7-over 217 to tie for ninth place. Haley Wilson also carded her third top-20 finish, tying for 20th with 10-over 220. AU CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON AT LIZ MURPHEY Auburn finished their regular season in seventh-place for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classis, carding a 15-over 879. Marta Sanz and Carlie Yadloczky tied for 18th at 2-over 218. QUOTING AUBURN HEAD COACH KIM EVANS On preparing for Regionals... Finally, the team gets to relax. We ve been going light with finals going on. A lot of them still have some moving to do, some things to shore up, but we are ready to get some work in and get ready for Regionals. We also have graduation, so there s a lot going on. They are ready, and we just have to put together a good equation and get them there and play a great golf course. On Haley Wilson and Patricia Sanz graduating... They are both getting their degrees, and what s exciting is that they get to walk the line and their families are going to be here. Patti is from Madrid, and Haley is from Phenix City area, but it s important to them and the team, and that s what they came to school for was for their degree. Between the two of them, they walk out with three SEC Championships, and we re not done yet. On the Scarlet Course... It is a true championship course. I think we ve played two NCAA Championships on it and a regional. It has hosted so many great championships, so we re looking forward to getting there and seeing what it brings. The roughs are up, greens are fast, so we re excited. On the Regional field... It is a great field. I think seven SEC teams are there. It s going to be action-packed there. A lot of people are better at the end, and a lot of teams are better at the end. A lot of teams will play better to that style of course, so we ll see some teams that maybe we hadn t seen play as well play really good, so we have to be ready. QUOTING SENIOR PATRICIA SANZ On preparing for Regionals... We know it s going to be a really hard golf course like the one we played for SECs. We know there are going to be a lot of bunkers. So we ve been working on the bunkers, on our physical strength like we did last time, and then also psychologically to be stronger and practice as hard as we can. We are done with finals now, so we don t have anything else to do except golfing. On the pressure of Regionals... You cannot focus on it being a regional. We just need to try to win like we always do because if you only try to barely make the eighth spot, you can miss it. So if you just play to win, you might finish second.
