SEASON NOTES LIVE NEW ARENA CONSTRUCTION WEB CAM mms://athwms.auburn.edu/arenacam NEW AUBURN ARENA OPENS NEXT SEASON The official groundbreaking of the new $9.5 million Auburn basketball arena and practice facilit was on Aug. 9,, and the arena is ahead of schedule and is on track to be fi nished this Jul prior to the start of the - season.

4 Auburn-Miles College Game Notes -- page The Auburn Arena, with an approximate capacit of 9,, will include over 9, square feet of student-athlete space, a two-court practice facilit, coaches offices, the Auburn Universit Athletic Ticket Office, an AU Team Store, the relocated Lovelace Museum, two food courts along with man other amenities. Architecture of Kansas Cit, Mo., has been working with Davis Architects of Birmingham on the design of the arena. The fi rm of Robins & Morton of Birmingham will serve as construction manager. The,9 square foot facilit will be built on campus north and west of the existing Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum on Roosevelt Drive, across the street from the Student Activities Center parking lot. The new arena will feature chair back seats along with bleacher seating for students. The building also will provide improved facilities for the student-athletes, including men's and women's locker room suites with sports medicine facilities, lounges and team meeting rooms. Along with a strength and conditioning center, a two-court practice facilit will enable the men's and women's teams to practice simultaneousl and while the arena is in use for other purposes. The arena will have luxur suites on the arena level that will not onl open inside the facilit, but will also open on the outside of the arena for multiple entertaining opportunities throughout the ear.
