1 Welcome to the 2018 Spring/Summer season for the MWA Elite Basketball Club. Below you will find information on how the club structure works the 2018 AAU Season. Information will include cost structure, uniforms, practices, events, registration, etc. Paperwork Needed for Season Registration: 1. Copy or # of your child s AAU Membership 2. Copy of your child s Birth Certificate 3. Uniform order, complete with sizes and number choices 4. Season Payment- (Cash, Credit Card or Check payable to Midwest Athletics) 5. Complete Player Registration form on the last page 6. Download the Midwest Athletics App-Search Midwest Athletics in the App store for the free download 7. Download the GroupMe App: Search GroupMe, this is the main source of team communication AAU Membership: Each player will need an AAU membership card. The membership is good from September 1, 2017 to August 31, Go to and click on Join AAU. You will need to provide a club code when registering: MWA Elite Club Code: WYWCTF Uniforms & Spirit Gear: Order uniforms at Team Structures: The MWA Elite Basketball Club has three levels of teams within the club structure. By having different level teams within the same club, it offers the opportunity to move team levels, within the same club. National-(Graduation Year): The National teams will have the opportunity to play in local Midwest Athletics sponsored events, out of town events (Lansing, Grand Rapids, etc.) and out of state events (IN, IL, OH, as well as Eastern or Southern States). This is the highest team level of the club. State: State teams will play in local Midwest events and local tournaments as well as out of town tournaments (Lansing, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, etc.). Local-(Local) Teams will play locally and have shorter seasons. Local teams will have 3-6 mini-seasons that coincide with the AAU Detroit Leagues, hosted by Midwest Athletics.

2 Practice: Practice times and locations are available next to the team rosters. It is expected that each team will practice 1-2 times per week. If possible, the club will have teams in the same or differnet age groups practice together. Practice Notes: Practices scheduled for a 7:30pm start time at Eastpointe HS, will eventually go to a 7:00pm start. This will happen when spring sports are outside full time. Also, practice day and times could be changed. Skill training: is also a big part of the MWA culture. Many developing players have their own trainer and train outside of practice. Basketball is a skill set game and players must always look to improve fundamental skills outside of practice. The official trainer of the MWA Elite is A.W. Canada with Prime Basketball. A.W. can be reached at or awcanada77@gmail.com Local Season Fees: The MWA Elite-Local:-(Formerly the Michigan Hoopers & Michigan Lady Pride) AAU Basketball Club is designed to expose new players/families to AAU basketball, build competitive teams from season to season, have roster continuity and offer the opportunity for players to move up to a State or National year team within the MWA Elite club structure. We offer team opportunities for boys 1 st - 12 th grades and girls 3 rd -12 th grades. The spring & summer season will coincide with the AAU Licensed Detroit Leagues. The 10th Annual D- League is the most competitive league in Michigan. Teams travel in from all over Michigan, Ohio & Canada to compete in the league. The D-Leagues provide mid-to upper level AAU competition, weekly games and appropriate age brackets. To learn more about the D-Leagues go to Local teams practice twice a week at Basketball City, usually play in 1-2 local AAU friendship tournaments and have a paid, non-parent and qualified coach. Players can opt in and out of the Local Team program during the AAU calendar year. We take every precaution to keep rosters together from season to season. This is great way to have a greater chance of success on the AAU circuit. Local Team Cost Breakdown: Uniform cost is $100 and includes UA reversible shorts & jersey Tryout fee of $25 needs to be paid only 1-time per AAU calendar year-(august 31-September1). Spring Season cost is $300 AAU membership of $14- paid only 1-time per AAU calendar year--(august 31-September1). Follow the link for the Midwest Athletics event list

3 Local Payment Options: 1. Pay in full at the beginning of the season 2. Partial payment at the beginning of the season and remaining balance 30-days later-(balance must be set-up on a credit card auto-pay) 3. NOTE-If you are not set-up on auto-pay, you cnnot enter in to a payment plan State & National Season Fees: Season fees will be handled partially by the club and partially by each individual team. This formula will work better, as each team cannot attend all of the same events. The club will handle all of the Midwest Athletics events and practices and individual teams will handle all of the travel tournaments outside of the Midwest Athletics event schedule. The monthly costntsis $100 per month and includes your practice time, coaching fees and Midwest Athletics leagues & tournaments. State & National Cost: $300-(April/May/July) State & Natinal Payment Options: 1. Pay in full at the beginning of the season $ Monthly $100 payments -(Balance must be set-up on a credit card auto-pay) 3. NOTE-If you are not set-up on auto-pay, you cnnot enter in to a payment plan 4. Uniform cost is $100 and includes UA reversible shorts & jersey State & National Travel Events: The club plays in some of the top events in the Midwest and AAU Nationals. The club will provide a travel schedule that teams can select the events they would like to attend for Each team will be responsible for the team entry fees for travel events.
