17 New York Islanders: Head Coach and Player Bios Head Coach: Jack Capuano Jack Capuano was named the interim head coach of the New York Islanders on November 5, 00. Capuano joined the Islanders organization in the season as an assistant coach with the Islanders. The native of Cranston, RI, was named head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on April 0, 007. In four seasons he had a mark as head coach of the Sound Tigers. From he served as the General Manager of the Pee Dee Pride of the East Coast Hockey League.
