FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW Tyler Ennis recorded his first NHL goal in his first NHL game on Nov. PHI Ryan Miller was named the NHL s Third Star of the Week (Nov.15-22) Buffalo went 2-0 at home last season against Florida The Sabres are 2-1 against the Southeast Division so far this year Jason Pominville has 14 points (4+10) in 15 career games against FLA. MILLER TIME Ryan Miller led Buffalo to a 3-0 record last week, finishing with a 1.30 GAA and.953 save percentage in three games. Miller started his week with a 28-save performance in a 3-1 win over Edmonton on Wednesday. He followed that up with a 2-1 shootout win over Calgary on Friday, where Miller stopped 3 of 4 Flames shooters in the shootout. (He has now stopped 9 of 10 on the season.) The next night, Miller turned away 29 shots including 13 in the 3 rd period as he backstopped Buffalo to a 3-2 win in Philadelphia. NOTHING GETS BY MILLER The 29-year-old Miller currently leads the league in wins (12), GAA (1.77) and save % (.939). The Sabres sit atop the Northeast Division, and have allowed a league-low 37 goals against (tied with NJ) through 17 games. Miller s 3-0 shutout on Nov. 4 vs. NYI was the 14 th of his career, moving him into a tie for third all-time in Sabres history with Don Edwards. Miller now trails only Martin Biron (18) and Dominik Hasek (55). ENNIS AND OUTS Tyler Ennis was the 21 st player to make his NHL debut with the Sabres and score his first goal in his first NHL game. He is the first Sabre to accomplish this feat since, Denis Hamel on Jan. 6, 2000 against New Jersey.

9 LEADER OF MEN Tim Connolly is Buffalo s leading scorer with 15 points (4+11) in 16 games. Connolly played in his 500 th career NHL game on Nov. 7 in Boston, and registered his 300 th career NHL point vs. Philadelphia on Nov. 6. Connolly made his NHL debut on Oct. 2, 1999 as a member of the NY Islanders, after being selected 5 th overall in the 1999 NHL Draft. WHEN WE FIRST MET Wednesday, October 21 at the BankAtlantic center in Florida; Buffalo scored all five goals in the first period. 14 different Sabres had at least one point. The Panthers peppered goaltender Ryan Miller with 43 shots. Defenseman Henrik Tallinder registered two assists to go along with his plus 2 rating. ENDING THE SHOOTOUT DROUGHT Buffalo entered play on Friday, Nov. 13 as one of three teams to have participated in just one shootout this season a 3-2 win in Tampa Bay on Oct. 24. Their second shootout win on Friday took four rounds, with Jason Pominville scoring the game deciding goal on Calgary s Miikka Kiprusoff. HOME ICE ADVANTAGE The Sabres have been leading or tied in 495:37 of a possible 607:42 in 10 home games. THE IRON MAN Jason Pominville enters tonight s game as the team s active leader in consecutive games played at 268 the seventh-longest active streak in the NHL. Calgary s Jay Bouwmeester is the NHL leader. Pominville has played in all 82 games in each of the last three seasons, and hasn t missed a game since being a healthy scratch vs. Philadelphia on April 7, MR. PERFECT Derek Roy s 14-0 night in the faceoff circle on Wednesday, Nov. 4 against the NY Islanders was the most impressive performance by a Sabre since Curtis Brown went 19-0 vs. ATL on Oct. 4/01. The last player in the NHL to go 14-0 or better was Antoine Vermette (14-0 with OTT) on Feb. 28/09 vs. TOR. QUICK ON THE DRAW Paul Gaustad continues to lead the NHL in faceoff winning percentage with 68.2%. He has won 161 out of a possible 236 faceoffs this season. Last week against Western Canadian teams, Gaustad won 24 out of 31 faceoffs (13-4 vs. EDM, and 13-3 vs. CGY). In addtion, he ranks tied for first in the NHL with three shutouts. COMING UP ZEROS: For the fith time in Florida's franchise history, the Panthers skated to a 0-0 tie after 65 minutes of play. Prior to Thursday night's 1-0 shootout win in Boston, the Cats last skated to a 0-0 tie after 65 minutes of play on Nov. 28, 2006, a game in which Florida would suffer a 1-0 shootout loss to Montreal. FIRST ONE IS A CHARM: Florida Panthers rookie defenseman Dmitry Kulikov scored his first NHL goal on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Washington. In addition, he also assisted on Cory Stilman's third period tally, marking the first two-point performance of his young NHL career. He ranks T-11th in the NHL among rookie scoring leaders with seven points (1-6-7) and T-2nd in the league among rookie leaders with five power play assists. RW Victor Oreskovich also netted his first NHL tally on Monday, Nov. 16 in the Cats 4-3 shootout loss to Los Angeles. MCCABE MILESTONE: Bryan McCabe played in his 1,000th National Hockey League game on Friday, Oct. 6. He became the seventh player to reach this milestone while playing for Florida, joining Chris Gratton (2007), Lyle Odelein (2004), Scott Mellanby (2000), Greg

17 Adams (2000), Kirk Muller (1998) and Mike Foligno (1994). He becomes the 247th player in NHL to reach the 1,000 games played milestone. Throughout his 14-year playing career, McCabe, 34, has played for NY Islanders ( ), Vancouver ( ), Chicago ( ), Toronto ( ) scoring 131 goals with 332 assists and 1,623 PIM. HAT TRICK FIRST: The Panthers got off to a fantastic start against Dallas on Oct. 30, all thanks to Steven Reinprecht. The center scored the game's first three goals (his fifth career hat trick) in a span of 5:11 in the first period, giving him a team-leading eight goals on the year. He becomes the 14th different Panther to record a hat trick but the first one to do it in the first period. Reinprecht finished off a four point night, setting up Jordan Leopold on a cross-ice feed in the second period. FEELING SHORTY: With his shorthanded goal on Monday, Oct. 12, RW Radek Dvorak surpassed Tommy Fitzgerald (12) as the franchise leader with 13 shorthanded tallies. In addition, Dvorak netted his second consecutive shorthanded goal on Oct. 16 in the Panthers 4-2 win over Philadelphia. Dvorak has recorded 21 shorthanded goals in his 14-year NHL playing career. NEW FACES: The Panthers were active this off-season adding several new players to their roster including, C Dominic Moore (FA signing), G Scott Clemmensen (FA signing), D Ville Koistinen (FA signing), D Jordan Leopold (acquired from Calgary), C Steve Reinprecht (acquired from Phoenix) and D Dennis Seidenberg (FA signing). CAPTAIN MCCABE: D Byran McCabe was named the club's sixth captain on Sept. 23. LONG TERM LOCK-UP: RW David Booth signed a six-year contract with Florida on July 1.
