A fourth-round pick by the Capitals at the 2010 NHL Draft, Grubauer has made 42 appearances, including 32 starts, over four NHL seasons, posting a record of with a 2.38 goals-against average and a.921 save percentage. Grubauer was with a 2.22 goals-against average and a.920 save percentage in 11 appearances at the Verizon Center in The native of Rosenheim, Germany is one of nine Capitals players participating in the World Cup of Hockey. That group includes forward Nicklas Backstrom who is with tonight s opponent, Team Sweden. Head coach Barry Trotz is a member of Team Canada s coaching staff.

Players on other clubs who also played in 2004 include Jay Bouwmeester and Joe Thornton (Canada), Mikko Koivu (Finland) and Pavel Datsyuk, Andrei Markov and Alexander Ovechkin (Russia). Henrik Zetterberg (Sweden) also played in 2004 and was expected to compete this year until he was forced to withdraw due to injury. Henrik Lundqvist of Sweden was a third goaltender in 2004 but did not see any game action. Daniel and Henrik Sedin were named to Sweden s roster in 2004 but did not play.
