NOTE OF THE NIGHT A Night for Nicky - The Capitals will hold a pre-game ceremony tonight to honor Nicklas Backstrom for reaching the 6 assist milestone. During the ceremony, Backstrom will receive a special gift from the National Hockey League and the Capitals organization. Backstrom became the first player in Capitals franchise and the 87th player in NHL history to reach the 6 assist mark on Nov. against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. Backstrom has registered 85 points (g, 6a) in 88 career NHL games and ranks first in franchise history in assists, third in points and sixth in games played. Backstrom also became the second-fastest Swedish-born player in NHL history to reach the 6-assist plateau (Forsberg, 55 GP).
