1 WAINUIOMATA WORLD WAR ONE SERVICE PERSONNEL During World War One around 62 service personnel associated with the Wainuiomata district enlisted for service and/or registered with the First or Second Reserves. The list is made up of 7 (typed in red) who died while serving, 21 who were discharged after service, 1 (typed in blue) defaulter, 7 who registered with the First reserves and 23 with the Second Reserves and 3 (typed in blue) no traces. From the list there are 7 service personnel who had the address Wainui Avenue. Perhaps the Wainui Hill Road was originally Wainui Avenue but as I am unsure I have placed these service personnel names on the Wainuiomata WWI list. There are also 2 Service Personnel with the address Wainui Road. Again I do not know if they resided on the Lower Hutt side of the Hill or in Wainuiomata. In time I hope to locate which side of the hill these service personnel resided in. Please note that some researchers and/or relatives forwarded additional names to me but for some I have been unable to locate a link to the Wainuiomata district.
