2 Martin Dudley Baber As far back as I can remember I always had this thing about photography and capturing images. It all must have started at about 9 when I got my first basic film camera for Christmas. I want to capture my images differently, to try creating art with my camera. I found that, not only do you need to capture the correct images well... but also understanding your editing techniques is of utmost importance for me to express what I do. I try to look at the world differently and try capture it that way and then create an art form out of my imagination and the image itself I love all aspects of photography but especially Creative Composites and Black and White. I have had no artistic training at all, the last time I was in 'Art Class' was in high school, I can't draw nor paint, No photographic training, and haven't had one lesson in photoshop. Everything I know has been self-taught through books and the internet. Today I give creative lessons and talks on photography, I teach creative and in-depth photoshop editing to groups, one on one lessons and on Skype to photographers across South Africa and even some photographers in Europe and as far as Dubai. How did this all happen See. we all been given and blessed with an amazing gift called creativity by our Creator, We just need to tap into it to reveal our own unique style and as we push on year after year we learn more about ourselves and we inspire... 16 Melanie Cornelius Professional photographer, who perceives the world in a whole different manner and finds beauty in places where others see nothing. She has always been highly creative from a young age and pursued a successful corporate career, before following her dreams and becoming a full-time photographer. She is known for her inspiration in the community, by helping others grow and her creative in-camera techniques which she has mastered and tutors in on a regular basis. Her favourite genre is monochrome, and she loves creating an image instead of just taking one and uses altered reality to create pieces of art in post-processing. Art to her is the process between creating an image and gripping the attention of the viewer. She has found a perfect balance between corporate photography and her fine art photography. 18 Michele-Ann Nel Munro Nel I am a photo enthusiast/amateur photographer with a keen interest in wildlife, nature and bird photography. Recently I have been experimenting with more creative in camera techniques as well as exploring the endless possibilities of Photoshop. I am basically self-taught although I have attended a few short courses. 19 Neille Vorster Nicolene Theunisen Neille grew up in family of photographers and was introduced to the Full Monty of photography genres from a very young age. She Qualified as a graphic designer and photographer and is a part-time lecturer at VSS Creative College. Neille is an accomplished events photographer: Dance, music concerts and wedding. However, like her brother, Gus Waschefort, she has a great love for travel and street photography. 20 In 2010, I was fortunate enough to buy my first DSLR and this got my adrenaline and creative juices flowing. I have trekked with gorillas, tracked leopards and lions, explored different cultures, floated down huge rivers, visited snow geese and eagles in temperatures way below freezing and gone on my knees to photograph flowers in the desert that are only a few millimeters in size. My first love was wildlife photography but this has since progressed to embrace all the photographic genres. Creative photography as introduced to me by VSS has been so exciting. I have been club photographer of the year a few times over the past few years and have received natonal and international acceptances and medals, but for me the greatest reward photography has brought me is a network of amazing friends.
