1 NOTICE OF RACE M32 European Series ORGANISING AUTHORITY The Organising Authority will be the local host club and the Sailing Series - B-Plan Sport & Events srl. in conjunction with the M32 International Class Association. 2 RULES 2.1 The racing will be governed by the rules as defned in The Racing Rules of Sailing M32 World Edition. National prescriptions that apply will be posted on the Ofcial Notice Board. 2.2 Changes to the rules in the M32 World Edition have been approved by World Sailing in accordance with RRS Racing will be umpired. 2.4 The M32 Class Rules will apply. 2.5 Nothing in this Notice of Race or any other governing document relieves the boat or her crew of the responsibility to comply with the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea or any other local regulations. 2.6 If there is a confict between languages the English text will take precedence. 3 LIMITATIONS 3.1 The RC may prescribe a maximum permitted sail area while racing. Boats may choose to sail with less than the maximum sail area permitted. 3.2 The gennaker shall remain hoisted while racing except in an emergency or when sailing with the mainsail set at the lowest halyard lock position. 3.3 When the gennaker is deployed on a leg defned as upwind by the Race Committee no crew shall be on the rack. 4 SCHEDULE AND VENUES 4.1 SEASON SCHEDULE ACT 1 - Valencia (ESP), April 20th - 22nd ACT 2 - Marina di Pisa (ITA), May 25th - 27th ACT 3 - Kristiansand (NOR), June 8th - 10th ACT 4 - Aarhus (DEN), June 28th - 30th ACT 5 - Balaton (HUN), July 22nd - 24th ACT 6 - Gargnano sul Garda (ITA), September 5th - 7th ACT 7 - Trieste (ITA), October 11st - 13rd

2 4.2 EVENT SCHEDULE Day 1: 11-11:30 Registration and weigh in 11:30 Mandatory skippers meeting and safety briefng 13:00 Racing Day 2: Racing Day 3: Racing. No start after 16:00. 5 ADVERTISING 5.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen by the OA as described in the WS Advertising Code. 5.2 Boats may be required to carry event advertising on the forward part of the boom. 5.3 Boats are required to carry a national fag on the mainsail as shown in Appendix. 5.4 Boats are not required to display national letters or sail numbers. This changes G.1.1(b) and (c). 5.5 The OA shall have the right to use the name and likeness of competitors and any images and sound recorded during the event free of any charge in any material produced in connection with the OA. 6 HOT SEAT GUESTS 6.1 The Race Committee may request a boat to carry 1-2 guests during one or more races each day. Any such race will not be scored. 7 ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY FEES AND LEASE BOATS 7.1 The event is open to M32 Catamarans. The OA may restrict the number of entries. 7.2 The entry fee is in EURO, 2.000,00 for each act of the series is due 20 days before the frst day of racing scheduled for each act of the Series. Late entry will be sanctioned with a 10% charge for late entry day and 25% after that Entries shall be paid directly to BPSE to the following bank Account: IT15K No World Sailing Classifcation Code shall apply 7.5 A number of lease boats are available. 7.6 To apply for invitation, entry documents and lease boats contact Riccardo Simoneschi, (r.simoneschi@sailingseries.eu) 8 CREW LIMITATIONS AND SAFETY 8.1 As described in class rule C2; The maximum total crew weight, determined prior to racing shall be 437.5kg in at least shorts and shirt. 8.2 As described in class rule C2; While racing there shall be a maximum of three crew members at the rack at the same time. 8.3 The number of crew shall not change during an event but may be diferent on events within the series.

3 8.4 Crewmembers, including the skipper, may be changed with RC approval. 8.5 While racing all crew shall wear a personal foatation device to the minimum standard ISO (CE 50 Newton), or USCG Type III, or AUS PFD 1, or EN Unless advised by the race committee all crew are required to wear a helmet to the minimum standard of CE EN 1077/1078/1385, ASTM 2040, or Snell S-98 and with at least 300 square centimeters of the exterior surface a high visibility color. White, green and blue are not considered high visibility colors. 8.7 While afoat all crew shall carry a knife that is capable of being deployed using one hand. 9 RACE FORMAT AND COURSES 9.1 Racing will take place on courses that will contain upwind, downwind and reaching legs around laid marks. 9.2 The format may contain races in groups and fnals. 9.3 The OA may change the format at their discretion. 10 SCORING FOR THE SERIES 10.1 High Point scoring. The winner of each event receives 12 points, 2 nd 11 points and so on 10.2 All event scores less one will count towards the series score 10.3 Ties will be decided in favour of a boats result in the fnal or last event 10.4 The scoring system for each individual event will be described in the Sailing Instructions 11 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS SI and a detailed schedule will be available to entered teams. 12 PRIZES Prizes will be awarded for each event and for the series. 13 BERTHING Boats shall be kept in their assigned areas which may change from day to day. 14 MEASUREMENT Boats may be inspected at any time by the RC.

4 15 COACH BOATS 15.1 Coach boats shall conspicuously display identifcation of the team being coached. A coach boat is any boat that is under the direction or control of a person gathering information or giving material support for the beneft of particular competitors either on the water or of The OA will not provide berths for coach boats Any interference by a coach boat with the racing or event organisation may result in a penalty applied at the discretion of the Protest Committee to the associated boat and/or crewmembers. 16 RISK STATEMENT 16.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk and they are reminded of the provisions of RRS 4, Decision to Race. Racing an M32 is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore involves an element of risk. By taking part in the event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that: They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport (and these events in particular) and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves, their crew and any boat supplied to them to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event; They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their supplied boat and their other property whether afoat or ashore; They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions; By participating in any race, they are satisfed that any supplied boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are ft to participate; The provision of a race management team, safety boats, umpires and other ofcials and volunteers by the organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities; The provision of safety boat support is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances; They have considered their own personal insurance position and are satisfed they have adequate cover for the event. 17 INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of EUR 1,500, per incident or the equivalent if expressed in other currency.
