3 Ka Wai Ola: Bringing Back the Lo i In ancient times, the ahupua a of Wai anae Kai was the poi bowl of the Leeward Coast.

4 Ka Wai Ola: Bringing Back the Lo i In ancient times, the ahupua a of Wai anae Kai was the poi bowl of the Leeward Coast. Water diversions for sugar left the valley without its natural streams, overrun by koa haole trees and invasive grass.

In the late 1970s a group of community members began working to bring water back to the Wai anae Valley.
