FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WARNINGS, INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE, MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY Warnings: The LPI Double-T Universal Harness is rated for and has a weight capacity of 300-lbs. Do not use this product if you and your clothing exceed 300-lbs or serious injury or death may result. You must fully read, understand and follow these warnings and instructions (written and video) before using your LPI Double-T Universal Full Body Harness. Failure to follow these instructions may cause serious injury or death. Never exceed the capacity rating of a harness (fall arrest system) or any other device. Inspect your harness (FAS) and or any other device before each use. Practice the use and adjustment of this harness (FAS) and any other device at ground level before using. Have a personal recovery plan in place and practice the plan in the presence of a responsible adult before leaving ground level. Hunt from the ground when you do not have a recovery plan. Inform someone of the hunting location, where tree stand will be located and the expected duration of the hunt. The length of the tether/lanyard strap must be minimized at all time. It should be adjusted so that it is above the head with no slack (snug) in the sitting position and you should have the minimum amount of slack possible when climbing. Page 1 of 12 Revised 3/12/2013

2 Practice the use of a full body harness at ground level in the presence of responsible adult to experience the feeling of handing suspended before using in a hunting environment. Never allow the tether strap to get under your chin or around your neck. Failure to follow harness instructions could result in not being able to return to the stand and being suspended in a harness after a fall. If the hunting location is unknown by anyone and communication efforts are unsuccessful, you must have a personal plan for recovery/escape because prolonged suspension in a harness can be fatal. It is important to exercise the legs by pushing against the tree or doing other forms of continuous leg exercises to avoid blood pooling while being suspended. Hunters with varying degrees of physical fitness may require different plans to recover/escape the effects of prolonged suspension. Have a personal plan and practice it in the presence of a responsible adult before leaving the ground. No one escape/rescue plan will work for every hunter on every tree in every circumstance. Only you can determine the best recovery/escape plan for your hunting situation and you must have a recovery/escape plan for your situation before leaving the ground. A suspension relief device must be on your person and readily accessible while using a harness. These devices allow the user to relieve the load on the lower extremities if suspended in a harness and help maintain circulation in the legs, mitigate suspension trauma (blood pooling) or allow descent to the ground. Be sure to follow the manufacturers directions on the safe use of any suspension relief device. Several optional products/systems are available that offer self-recovery or self extraction from a fall when suspended in a harness. Some systems automatically descend the user while others allow user control. One of those products/systems can be considered for use as an additional safety precaution against prolonged suspension and suspension trauma. Be sure to follow the manufacturers directions on the safe use of these products/systems. Hunt from the ground when self-recovery/escape ability in absent. There is time to make a correct decision on what action to take if a fall occurs while wearing a full body harness. It is important to remember DO NOT PANIC. Remain calm and implement your practiced rescue, relief and recovery plan. In the event of a fall either use a self recovery device or the suspension relief device (SRD) which this harness is equipped with. Do not panic if you fall. Discard and or remove this harness and tree strap from use of service after five years from Page 2 of 12 Revised 3/12/2013

3 the manufacturing date or after the first fall which ever occurs first. Failure to discard and/or remove your harness and/or tree strap from service after five years from the manufacturing date or after arresting a fall, may cause serious injury or death. Wrap the front leg strap around the outside of the leg up

6 6. Connect the quick release buckles for each leg by inserting male end into female end you will hear it click it if is engaged. If you do not hear a click retry until you hear a loud click or do not use. 7. Adjust the slide bar on each side of your back leg straps so that the slide bar is even with the top of your hip. 8 Instructions for Tree Strap: 1. Thread the tree strap through the tether loop on your harness. 2. Wrap the tree strap around the tree and feed the strap up through the backside of the floating buckle and back over the floating buckle and out the front of the floating buckle. See Photo 11 and 12. 9 3. The tether needs to be at least 8" from the floating buckle. Instructions for Suspension Relief Device (SRD): In the event of arresting a fall the suspension relief device (SRD) will allow the user to the stand up to allow some relief of the persons weight on the lower extremities. This is to help maintain blood circulation and aid in the prevention of suspension trauma known as blood pooling. The SRD is a device made of one inch black webbing attached to the front of the harness. This device is bundled and bound with a rubber band or velcro strap. To use the SRD: 1. Release it by removing the rubber band or strap and unbundle it. See Photo 13 and 14. Photo 13 Photo 14 Page 9 of 12 Revised 3/12/2013

10 2. The SRD has a three bar slide for adjustment. To adjust the device remove the three bar slide up or down the strap to lengthen or shorten it as needed. See Photo 15. Photo 15 Page 10 of 12 Revised 3/12/2013

11 3. The proper adjustment is when the SRD is about half way between the knee and the foot of the user. The length should allow the user to insert his/her foot into the loop and stand up on the SRD comfortably and adjust as needed. See photo 16. 12 Limited Warranty for Full Body Harness and Tree Strap: Lewis Products, Inc. warrants to the original retail purchaser that the full body harness and tree strap are free from defects in materials and manufacture for sixty (60) months from the date of purchase or one fall, which ever occurs first. Lewis Products, Inc. will repair or replace any part found defective if the unit claimed to be defective is returned to Lewis Products, Inc., (postage prepaid) within the warranty period along with proof of purchase. Please let us know the nature of the problem and where to send the replaced item. What is not covered by Limited Warranties: We do not warrant our products for defects caused by modifications or alterations, improper use, improper maintenance, misuse, or if the products are used for a purpose for which they were not designed or intended. Fading of nylon webbing and/or rope is not covered under this warranty. This Warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
