Composition/Information on Ingredients Ingredients: This health hazard assessment based on information from commercial and scientific literature. May cause erosion to the esophagus and stomach with perforation and peritonitis. Ingestion causes burning pain in the mouth, throat, stomach and thorax, constriction of throat, and coughing. This is soon followed by vomiting of blood or by passage of loose stools containing blood. Ingestion of 3-4 ml may be fatal. Vapor is irritating to the eyes. Liquid will cause burns. Causes smarting of skin and first degree burns on short exposure. May cause second degree burns on long exposure. When absorbed, ammonia, because of its alkalinity and water solubility, tends to breakdown and disrupts the outer cell layers, permitting rapid penetration. Even so, ammonia is not a systemic poison and the effects will be limited to local effects. If inhaled, will cause nausea, vomiting, breathing difficulty and convulsions. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Have eyes examined and treated by medical personnel. Wash material off skin with soap and pleny of water. If redness, itching or burning sensation develops, get medical attention Give 1 or 2 glasses of water to drink.
