PRECAUTIONS HANDLING: Do NOT handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. This product must be under the personal control of an APPROVED HANDLER or secured. TRACKING: Location and movement of this product must be recorded at each stage of its lifecycle. STORAGE: Store in original container, tightly closed, in a well ventilated area, as cool as possible, out of direct sunlight, and under lock and key. Protect from temperatures above 25 O C. Keep away from sources of ignition such as heat/sparks/open flame/hot surfaces. Do NOT store near food, feedstuffs, animals, or fertilisers. Stores containing more than 100 litres require emergency response plans and secondary containment systems, and are subject to signage. When stored appropriately this product should show no significant degradation for two years from the date of manufacture. Contact your supplier for further information about the use of product that is older than this. TRANSPORT: Do NOT carry this product on a passenger service vehicle. SPILLAGE: Extinguish all ignition sources, evacuate the spill area, and prevent any product from entering drains. Wear appropriate protective clothing. Use a full-face mask with an organic vapour canister if ventilation is inadequate. Absorb spill with an inert material (such as vermiculite, clay granules or synthetic absorbent) and place in a labeled, sealable container for disposal. Wash the spill area with and an alkaline detergent, then absorb the washings and place in the same sealable container. Dispose of the container in an approved landfill or under at least 50cm of soil in a non-crop, non-pasture area away from sources and homes. FIRE: In case of fire, use spray, carbon dioxide, dry powder or foam for extinction. PERSONAL PROTECTION: When mixing or applying wear impervious proof clothing, PVC or neoprene gauntlet gloves, face and eye protection and respirator. GENERAL SAFETY AND HYGIENE MEASURES: Remove sources of ignition and take precautionary measures against static discharge before decanting product. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do NOT breathe vapours or spray mist. Wash splashes of concentrate from skin and eyes immediately. Do NOT eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Remove protective clothing and wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and before meals and after work. Wash protective clothing immediately after use. Store work clothing separately. USE: Remove domestic animals from the operating area. Apply with well-maintained and accurately calibrated equipment. Do NOT spray plants from 7 days before flowering to petal fall if the plants are likely to be visited by bees. Do NOT spray onto or into. Do NOT allow spray drift outside the target area to occur. Clean out application equipment thoroughly after use. Do NOT contaminate when disposing of equipment wash s. RECORD KEEPING: Records of use must be kept. NOTE: Storage, application and record keeping must be as described in the current version of the New Zealand Standard for the Management of Agrichemicals NZS8409. DISPOSAL: Container: Triple rinse container and add residue to the spray tank. Recycle through Agrecovery ( , Product: Dispose of this product only by using according to the label or at an approved landfill. Do NOT burn product. 3 FIRST AID If swallowed, spilled on skin or in the eyes, or inhaled, and/or if symptoms from exposure are occurring, contact the National Poisons Centre 0800 POISONS ( ) or a doctor immediately. Wear suitable gloves and ensure other skin protection is adequate when attending victims. Wear suitable respiratory protection if advised to do so. An antidote can be medically administered at a health care facility. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Do NOT give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If on skin, remove contaminated clothing and footwear and wash affected areas of skin thoroughly with soap and. Do NOT scrub the skin. Wash clothing and decontaminate footwear before reuse. If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush the eye gently with continuously running. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue flushing until advised to stop by the National Poisons Centre, or for at least 15 minutes. SDS Additional information is provided in the Safety Data Sheet. 4 DIRECTIONS FOR USE In the following table, the rates stated are for high volume spraying to run-off. For concentrate spraying, adjust dilution rate accordingly. 5 It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards. Withholding Periods Do NOT spray lucerne, pasture or fodder crops within 7 days of harvest. Do NOT spray fruit, vegetable or cereal crops within 14 days of harvest. Notes: Apply at first sign of attack and repeat as necessary depending upon climatic conditions and rate of reinvasion. Re-treatment is normally not required more frequently than 14 days. - Avoid treatment on hot dry days when plants are wilted. Under these conditions treat early morning or evening. - Delay spraying if rain is imminent. - Where a rate range is recommended, use the highest rate to control severe attack. - Where mite populations are resistant to organophosphate insecticides, use an alternate product. Wetting Agents: The addition of a suitable non-ionic surfactant is recommended on hard to wet crops. Compatibility: PERFEKTHION S is compatible with most commonly used pesticides. Do NOT mix with strongly alkaline materials such as Bordeaux mixture and lime sulphur. Page 5 of 5
