2 Ingestion Skin Eyes If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek immediate medical attention. Remove contaminated clothing and flush affected areas with water. Seek medical attention if irritation develops. Launder clothing before reuse. In case of eye contact, check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately irrigate eyes with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. 4 Routes of Exposure Health effects from likely routes of exposure Effects of Overexposure Existing Conditions Aggravated by Exposure Carcinogenicity does not exhibit flash point, vapour pressure, vapour density or explosive limits. Figures quoted are for the mineral oil and additive components. Inhalation, ingestion, eye and skin Inhalation: Ingestion: Eye: Skin: Inhalation of the vapours (generated at elevated temperatures) or mists can cause irritation to the nose and throat. In the unlikely event of accidental ingestion however, sodium nitrite may reduce the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. Cyanosis (bluish skin), shortness of breath, palpitations, coma and/or death may occur. Product may cause slight to moderate irritation of the eyes. Mildly irritating to skin. Frequent and prolonged contact can cause sensitisation. Repeated skin contact may cause dermatitis due to defatting effect.
