4 Congratulations!! Welcome the world of DPV diving. Your recent acquisition of a new Salvo Mojo will quickly open up a whole new world of opportunities in the underwater realm. T ired of endless swims for the first few hundred feet of gold braid? Would you like to go visit that deep shipwreck or section of reef that eludes you? Or, do you just want to glide effortlessly through innerspace feeling more like an Eagle Ray rather than the hydrodynamic nightmare that you currently are. The Mojo DPV introduces itself as a leader in exploration grade equipment, utilizing only the finest of materials and craftsmanship currently available. Warranty and Contact information The Mojo DPV carries the same one year warranty as all of our products. This is in no way a limited warranty and covers everything from batteries and associated electronics to drive train. Please do note that prop blades and clutches from improper use of the DPV are not covered. Additionally, we strongly recommend a DPV training program from a certifying SCUBA agency. 5 Features The Mojo DPV is designed for easy diving in a convenient package to maximize time spent underwater. Your choice of battery configuration either Nickel-Metal Hydride or Lithium-Polymer in an o-ring sealed battery compartment to minimize damage if the hull was to flood. Completely sealed motor compartment. Ergonomically correct trigger mechanism for those long cruises to minimize fatigue. The trigger is connected to the magnet wheel via a solid rod stainless steel linkage to ensure no cables falling off pulleys or breaking. Additionally, the magnet wheel is designed for manual operation if needed. Speed is adjusted at the rear hub with a variable pitch blade adjustment knob. Locking latches on the hull to prevent the accidental line from popping latches open unintentionally. All DPV s come with a tow line, 1 Stainless Steel bolt snap, 2 spare hull o-rings, trim weights and charger. 2

6 Battery Charging To ensure the integrity of the power source, all Mojo DPV battery packs are o-ring sealed to protect in the rare event of a hull flood. There are no customer serviceable components sealed within this pack SO, STAY OUT OF IT! All warranty claims will be nullified if the internal seal of the pack has been compromised. Charging Li-Pol and NiMH Battery Packs Ensure trigger lock pin is in trigger or battery is disconnected from motor. Connect universal charger to wall outlet. Connect DPV to universal charger. LED will glow red while charging and will turn green when the charge cycle is completed. It is recommended from the battery manufacturer to leave the Li-Pol packs partially discharged (30-50% rated capacity) when storing. It is recommended from the battery manufacturer to completely charge the NiMH packs when storing. 3

7 Pre-Dive Always make sure to check the following before placing your Mojo DPV into the water. Doing so will definitely help to reduce headaches in the water and underway. Check connectors between battery and motor compartment to ensure they are connected. All Mojo DPVs are delivered positively buoyant in fresh water and supplied with adhesive backed trim weights. The weights are trim able and easily shaped to apply where you want and need them internally. 4

8 Inspect all sealing surfaces and clean off o-rings before closing up DPV. When closing latches, be sure to actuate opposing latches simultaneously. Check integrity of tow tope and also any accessories that you have installed are secure and in place. After you place your Mojo DPV in the water, do a quick bubble check to ensure that you have sealed everything properly. 5

9 Diving Diving a Mojo DPV is a truly surreal event. Please keep the following in mind to keep that effortless glide continuing safely. Salvo strongly recommends a DPV course through a certifying SCUBA agency before engaging in DPV diving. Streamlining gear is extremely important and will maximize the efficiency of the DPV. Remember to keep the danglies (including fingers) away from the shroud and spinning prop. Stop-Pin located in trigger and convenient carrier located adjacent for traveling. Remember to place the Stop-Pin in the trigger during transport and when you are not actively on the trigger, this will help to avoid slicing and dicing objects you wish to keep whole. The ergonomically correct trigger/handle design allows for easy one handed gliding through the water. Adjust the tow leash to a length with arms very slightly bent and as far forward as comfortable. This will help to give you the most hydrodynamic layout in the water. Take note of anything hanging below and try to get these items effectively out of the prop wash 6

10 Speed adjustments can be achieved by coming off the trigger and adjusting the variable speed yoke on the backside of the prop. Settings from 1 (slowest speed/longest burn) to 9 (fastest speed/shortest burn) are available. Ideally a setting of 5-7 will yield the best combination of speed and burn times. When changing depth, always be aware of maximum ascent and decent rates. The Mojo DPV was not designed as a buoyancy assist device, always maintain unassisted neutral buoyancy through the entire dive and verify this by occasionally coming off of the trigger. Always lock the trigger out when not actively using the Mojo DPV. When getting back on the trigger, remember to check the prop and shroud for foreign debris (fishing line, kelp, sticks, leaves, mud, etc.) Clear away any obstructions before removing the trigger lock. Save your clutch and make sure that only water is moving through the prop blades. Do not attempt to use the Mojo DPV beyond its recommended rated runtime. Over discharge of the battery may cause irreversible damage to the pack. 11 Post Dive As with the rest of your gear, there are a couple of tips for storing the Mojo DPV that are recommended for years of dependable use. Always make sure the trigger is locked out or the battery is disconnected when transporting or storing your Mojo DPV. Thoroughly rinse the Mojo DPV after diving, especially if it was used in salt or brackish water. If a large tub of freshwater is available, submerge the DPV and cycle the trigger with prop pitched to 1 a couple of times for a five minute duration. Charge NiMH battery packs as soon as possible and leave Li-Pol packs partially discharged. No batteries like heat!! Store all batteries in the coolest areas possible. If disassembling DPV for storage, pay attention to sealing surface and take care not to unintentionally mar them. 8
