2 Welcome Our years of experience rescuing from confined spaces and training those people working in them, has enabled us to adopt very strict requirements for the equipment that we use and recommend. We are only prepared to recommend equipment for sale which, through extensive testing and on the job use, has proven to be fit for purpose. 2 This brochure shows what we use and have available for sale from any of our training centres - when your life depends on the equipment you use, it is good to know you are safe in our hands. 6 Mobile anchorage DIDSBURY TRIPOD The Didsbury tripod is lightweight, aluminium and fully adjustable. It provides an easy to handle hoist mounting for vertical lifts in restricted access situations. Easy to erect and adjustable for height and level, it can be deployed quickly for man-riding, general lifting and rescue operations. When not in use the tripod packs away neatly in its own compact carrying bag. 6 2 PROTECTA ALUMINIUM TRIPOD Lightweight and portable, this tripod is ideal for confined space manhole entry and retrieval. Easily transported from one location to another, it can be set up by one worker. Attach one or two mechanical devices, such as a winch or 3-way self-retracting lifeline, and you re ready to go. With locking legs, simple detent pin style adjustment, quick-mount mechanical device bracket and skid resistant tread plate soles on feet. 3 MITTLEMAN DB500 TRIPOD Lightweight, portable tripod for use with the Unidrive winch. Has two integrated anchor points, one adjustable foot to compensate for uneven floors, and solid footing by guy topes. It is dismountable for transportation and has a capacity of 500kg. 7 Winches/communications 2 LLRTZ DIDSBURY MINI LIFT WINCH Designed for safe goods handling and man-riding operations. The enclosed drum hoist is supplied with an extension tube and top sheath for overhead eye bolt mountings on tripods and davits or with spigot mounting where headroom is restricted. 2 DECO 2000 HIGHER RATED WINCH The compacted hoist offers a lightweight lifting system for man-riding and precision handling operations. Available with a choice of cable lengths incorporating a controlled multi-layering drum action. It is exceptionally versatile, easily portable and designed for use with the Didsbury Tripod, Davit systems or for suspension from any suitable overhead fixture. Built to Didsbury s quality standards, the hoist meets the highest safety requirements. 3 UNIDRIVE AUTO DESCENDER A working, abseiling and rescue lifting device that can be operated with any type of motor drive. It not only has a regulated lowering speed of approx. 0.8m/s, but also has a patented automatic return lock. The lifting function, which reacts quickly by means of the direct drive, is also regulated with a telescopic lifting rack or by means of a hand wheel. The corresponding cable with a 0.5 mm diameter, and a snap hook hooked on both sides, is available in various lengths. 8 Head protection/fall arrest 2 PETZL VERTEX BEST HELMET With an adjustable head band to ensure a secure fit, the strong chin strap limits the risk of losing the helmet during a fall. The solid shell reduces ventilation but does meet the requirements of EN397 and EN50365 for electrical insulation and molten metal splash. This helmet is a compromise between the sport and industrial standards. Featuring a stackable rope space-maximizing design and an impact indicator to provide easy verification of whether the equipment has been involved in a fall. The self-retracting lifeline will extend as the user moves away, and retract automatically enabling the user to move about within a recommended working area at normal speeds. Should a fall occur, a speed sensing brake system will activate, stopping the fall and reducing the forces imposed on the user to safe levels. The handle can be deployed to winch the casualty up or down to safety. 4 ROLLGISS R250 RESCUE POLE AND SCAFFOLD HOOK Can be used by anyone who is working at height and does not require any particular rescue skills. You simply find a safe anchorage point on the structure that is at a maximum of 4.5 m from the person to be rescued. Comprises a R250 descender telescopic pole (5 m) and recovery hook (aluminium, 60 mm gate). Able to raise worker and disconnect the fall-arrest equipment using a rope or other device. 9 Harnesses BOLERO FRS RESCUE HARNESS Two-point fall arrest harness, with 3 bar slide and rectangular link chest connection. Adjustable length leg loops and shoulder straps with a roller buckle to ensure the straps are positioned correctly. Includes an overhead rescue attachment and fitted with a Nyplax waistcoat. The chest strap on this harness is a full chest strap going all the way around the chest to provide an exceptionally secure configuration, which increases the distribution of load when using the front D ring. 2 AVEO BOD ROPE ACCESS HARNESS A full body harness, available in three sizes, suitable for work positioning, fall arrest and work restraint. Key features include: An X-shaped dorsal (rear top) section which has a double yolk (an inner and an outer section), that is linked through to the leg loops. This ensures that the pressures exerted on the user during suspension are distributed better, and offers greater comfort. Wide waist belt and leg loops to limit pressure points and give better support. 10 Medical/first aid DEFIBTECH LIFELINE AED With its bright yellow case, you ll always know where the DefibTech is in an emergency. Its durability, having been tested to US military standards, means that this product performs well even after the odd knock or two. Above all, the DefibTech Defibrillator is so easy to use with its audible prompts that even non-medically trained people can use it. This semiautomated defibrillator comes with a standard battery (approximate life 5 years). 2 SABRE EASE WITH REGULATOR This portable system provides a compact, low resistance method of self-administering O2 /N2O. The Ease demand valve is constructed in a way that creates minimal breathing resistance to the patient and can deliver high flows when required SABRE MARS MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC RESUSCITATION SYSTEM With Sabre Mars, the operator does not have to make judgements on the lung capacity of the patient to select a tidal volume, only the basic size or type of patient being cared for. Once this simple operation has been made, the Mars will control both tidal volume and pulse frequency within the parameters laid down in the British Standards. Even if the wrong setting is selected, there is no risk of over inflating the patient s lungs. 11 Stretchers PARAGUARD RESCUE STRETCHER Designed for a variety of rescues, the Paraguard Excel is a compact and versatile rescue stretcher. It is ideal for search and rescue operations and can be used to rescue casualties quickly and safely from confined spaces. Constructed from quality, synthetic materials, stainless steel and aluminium, it is impervious to oil, water, grease and other petroleum products and is resistant to rot and corrosion. Quick and simple to use, with various straps to secure the chest, arms, thighs and lower legs. The head is held in place by a 3 point, non-slip forehead strap. A figure of eight strap supports the feet. 2 K.O.D.E. EXTRICATION DEVICE A time-proven design, this rescue vest is the best spinal fracture management tool for emergency medical personnel to fully immobilize a casualty and remove them quickly. Includes two head straps, three torso straps and two legs straps, which are used to adequately secure the device to the casualty.
