Toxicological Information 11.1 Information on toxicological effects Prolonged or massive exposure to alveolar dust can cause respiratory effects. Because of its low content of quartz, excessive exposure to the dust can cause lung disease. The scientific debate continues about the possible carcinogenic effect of quartz. There is evidence that cancer risk increases for those already suffering from silicosis. In accordance with the present state of things, worker protection against silicosis is logically provided by complying with the statutory limits for the profession. 12. 5 13.1 Waste treatment methods Residual waste / unused products: These can be buried in compliance with local regulations. The material must be buried to prevent the emission of respirable dust.
