2 Warranty BROCK SHUR-STEP Stairway Assembly Instructions Warranty Brock Grain Systems ( BROCK ) warrants each new BROCK product manufactured by it to be free from defects in material wkmanship f one year from and after the date of initial installation by f the iginal purchaser. If such a defect is found by the Manufacturer to exist within the one-year period, the Manufacturer will, at its option, (a) repair replace such product free of charge, F.O.B. the facty of manufacture, (b) refund to the iginal purchaser the iginal purchase price, in lieu of such repair replacement. Lab costs associated with the replacement repair of the product are not covered by the Manufacturer. CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS. The product must be installed by and operated in accdance with the instructions published by the Manufacturer Warranty will be void. 2. Warranty is void if all structural components of the system are not iginal equipment supplied by the Manufacturer. 3. This product must be purchased from and installed by an authized dealer certified representative thereof the Warranty will be void.. Malfunctions failure resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, accident, lack of proper maintenance shall not be considered defects under the Warranty.. This Warranty applies only to systems f the care of grain and feed. Other applications in industry commerce are not covered by this Warranty. The Manufacturer shall not be liable f any consequential special damage which any purchaser may suffer claim to suffer as a result of any defect in the product. Consequential special damages as used herein include, but are not limited to, lost damaged products goods, costs of transptation, lost sales, lost ders, lost income, increased overhead, lab and incidental costs and operational inefficiencies. The WARNING Decal in Figure below is placed on the SHUR-STEP Platfm Handrail. Read and observe this precaution. Call the Dealer Manufacturer f replacement if the Decal is missing damaged. If the Decal becomes damaged wn with use, replace it. Keep SAFETY signs in good condition. Replace missing damaged SAFETY signs. WARNING! Stairway SAFETY Procedures Figure. WARNING Decal Failure to comply with the following instructions may result in death serious injury.. Never climb a damaged improperly assembled Stairway. Inspect it carefully befe use. 2. Keep Steps free from slippery material such as ice, mud, snow, grease, manure, etc. 3. Wear slip-resistant shoes.. Do NOT use Stairways if you tire easily, are subject to fainting spells, use medicine alcohol are physically handicapped. Never use the Stairway when in po health.. Maintain a firm grip on the Handrails. Center your body between the Rails and bin. 6. Replace the Stairway if it is exposed to fire damaging chemicals. 7. Never use the Stairway as a platfm, plank material hoist. 8. Never apply a side load. Never push pull anything while on the Stairway. 9. Never drop apply an impact load to the Stairway.. One is to follow step-by-step in the der of assembly of your SHUR-STEP Stairway. The other way is f easy reference if you have questions in a particular area. IMPORTANT! Read ALL instructions and study all Figures carefully BEFORE starting construction. IMPORTANT! Pay particular attention to all SAFETY infmation on Page. Metric measurements are shown in millimeters and in square parentheses, unless otherwise specified. " equals inches and ' equals feet in English measurements. Example: ' [ 72] 2' [7 3] Hizontal ( ) and Vertical (l), Bottom and Top, in the instructions refer to the bin as it is standing. Optional equipment contains necessary instructions f assembly operation. Maj changes from the last printing will be listed on the back cover. This Planning Symbol is used in areas where planning needs to take place befe construction continues. Identification of Parts and Hardware IMPORTANT! Diagrams are provided throughout this Manual to identify Parts and Hardware used in that application. All SHUR-STEP connections use /6 x " Grade 8.2 Hex Head Bin Seal Bolts and Flange Nuts. Grade 8.2 Hex Head Bolts are identified with markings such as in Figure 2. No hardware substitutions are permitted. Parts and basic components are identified in Figures and their accompanying Tables as Items with a black number in white circle. Hardware (and hardware connections between Parts) are identified with a white number in a shaded circle. See Figure 2. Hardware Item numbers are listed after the Parts in the Figure Table. Dimensions and lengths are noted with a white circle on an arrow line, then identified with numeric values in the Figure Table. Specific holes, positions, locations mentioned in the text are noted in the Figure with an asterisk*. 9 BROCK SHUR-STEP Stairway Assembly Instructions SHUR-STEP Platfm IMPORTANT! SHUR-STEP Platfm assembly begins AFTER the third ring/second tier (down) is installed. Plan from the Roof down to avoid obstructing Dos other Grain Bin components. Allow f adequate clearance of Platfms from adjacent Grain Bins. The Stairway can descend either clockwise counter-clockwise. Platfm Suppt Narrow 2.67'' Crugated Bins: Bolt a pair of Stairway Hanger Brackets (Item ) on the second ring down from the roof. Center Brackets under the Roof Ladder on the hizontal seam Bolts 28 /8'' apart. Use /6 x '' Bin Seal Bolts with the heads inside, and a /6'' Flange Nut outside. Wide '' Crugated Bins: Find two (2) hizontal seam holes that are 28 /8'' apart and centered under the Roof Ladder. Drill a pair of holes vertically in line with these hizontal seam holes at 32'' [83] and 6'' [ 626] below the TOP hizontal seam. Mount Stairway Hanger Brackets on these holes. Outside-Stiffened Bins: The Stairway Hanger Brackets can mount inside the Stiffener. Install a pair of Knee Brace Angles (Item ) to the Hanger Brackets.
