2 Variable Size and Depth A key advantage of an Endless Pool is the flexibility inherent in our steel panel, elastomeric membrane system. Pools from 6' x 6' to 15' x 15' in one foot increments are possible using our freestanding structural panels. Our Fiberglass Endless Pools are 8'6" wide by 18' long with a water surface area of 7'6" x 17'. A therapy or exercise pool requires water at the appropriate depth. Our residential, steel-panel Endless Pools, intended primarily for swimming, are 42 tall with a water depth of 39. For most commercial applications, however, we recommend either our 48 or 54 models. With our 54 model and a built in treadmill, water depths of 51, 47 and 36 are available to the user. (see diagram). All of these water depths are achievable without excavation. If excavation is possible, of course, any depth or combination of depths can be achieved. Be sure to speak with our design professional about your depth requirements. Our three Fiberglass Pools have water depths of 51, 57 or 63. While typically backfilled leaving no more than 18 above a finished floor, our 51 deep model can be installed as a freestanding unit. Hydrotherapy Jets Installed on any of the four walls of an Endless Pool but typically at the rear where seating is located, hydrotherapy jet arrays provide soothing relief to sore muscles. An array of four jets is powered by a single 1 hp pump which is controlled with a handy poolside display. The jets may be installed in multiple arrangements. Interior Seating The Endless Pool provides perimeter seating in our 42 model and bench seating at the rear in our 48 and 54 models as well as with our Fiberglass Endless Pool. 3 Variable Speed Current The current available in every Endless Pool is remarkably smooth and completely variable in speed. Wider than your body and deeper than your swim stroke, the current is ideal for swimming as well as a variety of therapy protocols. Typically installed in our deeper pools (51 water depth) the treadmill provides walking speeds from 0.4 to 6 mph. For running applications we offer a treadmill with speeds up to 8 mph. The treadmill is built into the floor of an Endless Pool centered on the current. The immediate performance feedback offered by the front and bottom mirrors as well as a video recording system allows the swimmer to make slight alterations and actually see results. 7 Cruise Ship Endless Pool Perfect for any Application While most of our commercial Endless Pools are installed in physical therapy clinics and swim centers, we have had our fair share of special projects over the years supplying pools for television shows like This Old House and Extreme Home Makeover to Hollywood features like Gattica. Cruise ships including the Grand Princess, shown above, now rely on our Fastlane system to create a perfect swim in a tiny shipboard pool. Our special fabric-walled Endless Pool sets up in about 30 minutes and is used in Iraq and Afghanistan for physical therapy as well as swim exercise by the US Army. Navy Seals use our Fastlane swim propulsion systems sunk in 20 feet of water for swim training at depth.
