HYDROTHERAPIES FOR No other substance on Earth can match the healing properties and restorative powers of water. For untold generations, people have recognized water as a natural medicine, one that can ease the body and calm the spirit. Hydrotherapy harnesses the life-giving power of water and uses it to provide relief and comfort to those who suffer from all manner of aches and pains. SENSORY THERAPIES Sensory therapies appeal to our senses of smell, sight, hearing and touch. Each of these therapies is naturally therapeutic, healing and beneficial. When combined with the power of water, however, an incomparable combination for promoting wellness is created. Soaking Bath A simple soaking bath is the most elemental form of hydrotherapy where heat and the water s natural buoyancy foster deep relaxation. Designer soaking tubs are ergonomically designed for maximum comfort with lumbar support and backrest angles to accommodate different needs and preferences. Stream Bath Stream Bath creates the ultimate soaking tub.by replicating the feeling of sitting in a tranquil forest stream. Directional slotted vents provide a slow-moving, gentle current of water created by a whisper-quiet pump. The current of water is very soothing and relaxing, and the sound of the moving water is equally therapeutic. Air Bath An air bath provides a gentle, full-body massage that is restorative and relaxing. MTI s air bath system places the air jets on the floor of the tub to provide maximum coverage of the bather s body with millions of tiny bubbles. The air bubbles come in contact with skin, open the pores and raise the capillaries toward the surface to detoxify the bather. Two different air bath packages are available. If Air Elite is selected, either alone or in combination with a whirlpool, the control key pad includes a wonderful feature called Spa Mode. This provides 3 preprogrammed settings that will sequence through the various therapies in different combinations to create a spa experience that is energetic, relaxing or deep tissue. Whirlpool Bath This hydrotherapy utilizes a mixture of water and air that is drawn in from the bathtub by a pump and then propelled toward the bather through jets. It provides a deep, penetrating massage that can be targeted at different parts of the body. This is perfect for tired, strained muscles. Two whirlpool equipment packages are available, with pulsating Tsubo massage included in the Ultra Whirlpool packages. Combination Air Bath & Stream Bath Expand your options. You can select a package that combines Stream Bath with either of the two air bath packages available. Aromatherapy This ancient therapy uses aromatic essences naturally extracted from plants to harmonize and promote health of body, mind and spirit. Different aromatic essences have different effects. Most MTI air bath systems for drop-in tubs include a built-in aromatherapy diffusion system to allow the bather to enjoy the benefits of this ancient form of therapy while bathing. Chromatherapy For centuries, light and color have been recognized as having an effect on human bio-rhythms and life equilibrium. Different colors affect individuals differently. A control button allows selection of constant colors or preset programs to achieve the desired lighting. Thermaltherapy Thermaltherapy uses heat to soothe, quiet and relax the body, making hot water an essential ingredient in any form of hydrotherapy. It will even make the body more receptive to the benefits of an air bath or whirlpool. Recirculating water heaters are available to be used with the various forms of hydrotherapy so you can enjoy them longer, and you can even have radiant heat installed to warm the tub s backrest and floor. The soothing sounds of the gently flowing Stream Bath are certainly restorative. But you can also use the power of music to soothe, relax and revive. MTI s Stereo H2O integrates electronic transducers into the bath shell, essentially transforming it into a sounding board so the bather not only hears the sounds but also feels the music through the body as it travels through the bath water. 26 Popular Options for Acrylic Tubs CHROMATHERAPY Most MTI baths offer the possibility of including the therapeutic effects of chromatherapy through the use of underwater lighting provided by digitally controlled LEDs. A control button allows selection of constant colors or preset programs to achieve the desired lighting. Includes 2 digitallycontrolled LEDs unless otherwise specified. While chromatherapy lighting can be added as a separate option, it is also included in a number of hydrotherapy packages. STEREO H 2 O Audiotherapy is delivered through highperformance acoustic transducers that are integrated with the bath shell s exterior to transform it into a sounding board. Two versions are available. One system includes 4 transducers with pre-wired leads from each so you can use the stereo receiver/amplifier of your choice or a product such as those available from Sonos, Inc. The second is an installed system ready to use with Bluetooth amp, on/off button and 2 integrated transducers. An optional waterproof, floating remote control is available for the Bluetooth system. MICROBUBBLES Microbubbles innovative technology draws water in from the tub and infuses it with up to 50% more dissolved oxygen. The water enters a compression chamber and then on to a turbulence chamber, which creates tiny bubbles the size of the head of a pin. Billions of these tiny bubbles fill the tub with such a density that the water turns milky white. These tiny oxygenrich microbubbles gently remove impurities from skin and pores, leaving the body cleansed and gently exfoliated. RADIANCE Radiance Bath Surface Heating System applies radiant heat to the interior surface of tub to make leaning back more comfortable. Factory-installed and fully integrated in the acrylic shell structure, the Radiance system includes electronic heating grids for 2 areas, plus all of the electronic controls. Two systems can be specified for a two-person tub. Radiance can also be applied to Designer shower bases. INLINE HEATERS Inline heaters are available for soakers, air baths and whirlpools. These systems do not heat cold water but maintain bath water temperature at 104 F. While an inline heater can be added as a separate option, it is also included in a number of hydrotherapy packages. PILLOWS Bath pillows provide support for head and neck. Four styles are available. All are removable. Shown is the most versatile, the Roll-Up pillow. Against sound advice, he started a company in the challenging financial climate of a time when the interest rate was over 20% and his own age was nearing 60.
