Lanes 1 & 10 will be pace lanes and 2 & 9 will be sprint lanes. The Meet Referee has discretion to declare more pace and sprint lanes as necessary. SITE: The WPI Natatorium is a 17 lane 25 yard pool with 7 foot wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. The timing system includes a fully-automatic Colorado Time Systems electronic timing system with touch pads at the finish end of the pool with full video electronic display. There are touch pads at the turn end of the pool; however, splits may not be used. The Competition area of the WPI Natatorium consists of 8 to 10 lanes. There will be 6 open 25 yard lanes for continuous warm-up and warm-down through the meet. The Meet Director and Meet Referee reserve the right to open as many as 8 lanes for continuous warm up through the course of the meet. The pool depth at the finish and turn ends of the pool ranges from 8 5 in lane 1 to 14 in lane 10. Spectator seating is available for 300. The pool is located in the WPI Sports and Recreation Center at Worcester Polytechnic Institute 100 Institute Road, Worcester MA The pool may be entered via the main entrance or the lower entrance nearest the parking garage. Directions will be located later in this document. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards) MEET FORMAT: The meet will be conducted in a trials/finals format. Prelims and finals will be conducted in 10 lanes. There will be 3 heats in finals: a bonus, a consolation and a final heat, in that order, in all events except the two distance events and the relays. The 1000 freestyle and 1650 freestyle are timed finals events. The top heat (10 swimmers) of the women s 1000 freestyle and men s 1650 freestyle will be swimming in finals on Sunday. All relays will be swum with finals. If the number of relay entries causes the finals session to extend beyond 3 hours, the Meet Director and Meet Referee reserve the right to run slower heats of the relays in the prelims session. This will be determined after the entry deadline. No events will swim with more than one swimmer per lane.

2 DISTANCE EVENTS: The 1000 and 1650 freestyles are timed finals. On Thursday evening, the women s 1650 freestyle and the men s 1000 freestyle will be competed slowest to fastest, first women, then men (not alternating). On Sunday, the fastest heat (10 swimmers) of women s 1000 freestyle and men s 1650 freestyle will be swum during the finals session on Sunday. All of the other heats will be competed fastest to slowest alternating women, then men, immediately after the completion of the 200 butterfly. All distance swimmers in the prelim heats must provide at least 2 timers with watches and 1 counter for their swims. The 400 Freestyle and the 400 IM may be seeded in an A/B flight format. The decision will be made by the Meet Referee directly after the scratch deadline for those events. If A/B flighted, there will be 4 or 5 heats in each A flight. The A Flight will be swum slowest to fastest (with the top two heats circle-seeded) with the women s event first, followed by the men s event. The B flight will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating heats of women and men. All swimmers in the B flights for these two events must provide at least 2 timers. Both of these events will follow the scratch rules below. CUT PROTOCOL: If a session is over-subscribed, the following changes will take place in the meet format: The 800 free relays will be limited to one relay per team. Non-LSC bonus swims will be cut first by time followed by LSC bonus swims and then non-lsc qualified events, but every effort will be made to work with the non- LSC teams to reduce entries and accept and accommodate qualifying swimmers. Clubs will be notified of changes by Friday, December 8, RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: Once a meet is sanctioned, changes can be made to the meet invitation before the meet, only with the approval of the Technical Chair, Bob Menck. Any change to the meet format after the meet begins will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee, and will be presented to the coaches at a coaches meeting. MEET COMMITTEE/JURY: The Meet Jury will be made up of one official, one coach, and one athlete to be selected by the Meet Referee who will present issues and moderate the jury but not vote. The three members shall be from separate teams. The meet jury will decide all issues of eligibility and anything not addressed in the Meet Announcement. The Meet Referee shall have authority as described in the current USA Swimming Rulebook WEATHER PROTOCOL: If weather or facility conditions make it impossible to follow the original timeline of events, the Meet Director and Meet Referee have a right to make changes to the meet sessions. The Meet Director will notify the teams of the changes with as much notice as possible. Cancellation of the meet, or a session, is a decision of the Meet Director and the Meet Referee. If weather requires the cancellation of any finals session, the results of the preliminary session will be the final order. DISABILITY SWIMMERS: Any current athlete members of USA Swimming with a disability, as defined by USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, may enter this meet. If modifications to USA Swimming rules are necessary, the coach or athlete must notify the Meet Referee and Meet Director of any disability prior to competition. SWIMWEAR: Per New England Swim policy, swimmers 10 years old and younger are not allowed to wear Tech suits at this meet. The age of the swimmer is determined on the first day of the meet.

3 ELIGIBILITY All swimmers must be current registered swimmers with United States Swimming and have achieved at least one qualifying time between June 1, 2016 and the entry deadline. All swimmers must be registered before the entry is submitted. Teams that enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregistered swimmer. All NE teams entering the meet are required to check their entries with the online registration check tool on the New England Swimming web site. Please contact the New England Swimming Office for registration information: office@neswim.com. Any swimmer who is entered with incorrect swimmer information, including an incorrect or missing ID, or is unregistered, will be scratched from the meet until corrections are made. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. EVENTS and SESSIONS: See attached list. BONUS EVENTS (must have achieved bonus qualifying standard): 1 cut = 4 bonus 2 cuts = 3 bonus 3 cuts = 2 bonus 4-6 cuts = 1 bonus To bonus the 1000/1650 you must have the cut in the other event. ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries must be completed in OME by Tuesday, December at 11:59 PM EST Qualification period: June 1, 2016 through December 5, Seeding order: SCY, SCM, LCM Entry Fees: $8.00 for individual events 200 yards or less, $10 for events 400 yards and over, $25 for relay events (add $0.50 for non-electronic entries). Swimmer participation fee: $10 per swimmer (including relay only swimmers) New England Travel Surcharge: $2 per swimmer (including relay only swimmers) No deck entries will be accepted. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry LATE TEAM ENTRIES ARE SUBJECT TO A $100 FINE, if the entry is accepted. The decision to accept the entry is the sole discretion of the Meet Director. ENTERING ON-LINE: USA Swimming Teams/Athletes must enter this meet on-line at Do not your hy-tek entry file. On-line entries will be accepted from Friday, October 27th, 2017 until Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:59 pm EST. You will be required to pay for on-line entries with a check (credit cards will not be accepted). Once you check out of the entry on OME, send the cover/liability waiver page, and a copy of your online entry, with a check, using the cover sheet payment information (made payable to TNT Swimming) to the below address These must be received by Friday, December 9th for your entry to be considered received. OME is not an eligibility report. It is the coach s responsibility to know the events your athlete is qualified for. You can modify your entry on-line by adding to the original entry. You may not delete an on-line entry. Once you complete your on-line entry, you will be sent confirmations via by the OME program. Please print this report and include it with your payment, and keep a copy for yourself. (make check payable to TNT Swimming)

4 TNT Swimming Senior Meet Entry 210 Park Ave Suite 292 Worcester, MA NEW CUTS: No time updates from the original entry deadline of December 5 th, 2017 will be allowed. If the meet is not full on the entry deadline, late qualifiers achieving the qualifying time standards for the first time between December 5th and December 11th will be accepted into the meet. All coaches will be notified by Wednesday, December 6th at 9PM as to whether or not the meet is full. If new qualifiers are accepted, their electronic entries should be sent via in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format attached to: pbennett@wpi.edu. These NEW CUTS ONLY (no updated times) entries must be received no later than 11:59 PM EST on Monday, December 11th. Full payment and a printed copy of the entry, including the swimmer facilities fee, must be received by December 15th. If payment is not received before prelims on December 14, 2017, then the swimmers will be scratched from the meet. Make checks payable to TNT Swimming and overnight mail a hard copy of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to Paul Bennett Senior Entry 100 Institute Road, Dept. PERA, Worcester MA, Check the no signature required box. All entries must be complete and accurate and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. All entries must include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver. No refunds for entries that are accepted or entries that are rejected due to improper entry (i.e., meet fees will not be returned or credited to new entries for scratches or errors or unverifiable times). Deck entries will only be accepted based on clerical errors by the entering team or the meet host. Please include the address of your team s contact(s) so all future meet correspondences can be sent to this address. ENTRY LIMITS: Swimmers may enter as many events in which they have qualified, but may only compete in a maximum of three (3) individual events per day (including time trials) and a maximum of seven (7) individual events in the meet (not including time trials). TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be available at the discretion of the Meet Director and the Meet Referee, after the trials sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All time trial swimmers must provide two timers for their swims. Time trials are $10 for individual events and $25 for relays. Swimmers cannot swim more than 3 individual events per day, including time trials. Sign-up for time trials is at the Control Table. Time trials are open to any swimmer registered with USA Swimming. Time Trial swimmers not already entered in the meet must notify the entry chair by Tuesday, December 9th, of their intent to do a time trial and provide their USA Swimming registration information and if not already entered in the meet must pay the swimmer participation and travel fee of $12 in addition to the time trial fee of $10 per event. These fees can be paid at the Control Table on the day of the time trial. LEGAL SPLITS: Legal splits must be requested by a coach before the event using a legal split form (available at the Control Table) and the requesting party must supply two additional timers, to meet USA- S requirements. VERIFICATION SWIMS DATABASE PROOF OF TIME: Times from the USA Swimming Sanctioned, Approved, and Observed competitions will be in SWIMS, the national times database. Times must meet qualifying time standards and any entry times not in the SWIMS database will be rejected. All entries will be verified before the meet. Do not ask to change entry times or events after the entry deadline.

5 RELAYS: o Use of Electronic Relay Judging Pads: Dual Human Confirmation of relay take off violations will be required at all New England Swimming meets. If Electronic Relay Judging pads are to be used at a meet, they will serve in the following capacity. Once a Dual Confirmation of a relay take off has been confirmed (Dual Human Confirmation), the Meet Referee or his/her designee shall request the RJP data. This data can only be used to support the disqualification or overturn the disqualification. In the event the RJP data is either missing or deemed invalid, the disqualification will stand. Up to two (2) relay entries per team can be entered and scored. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit teams to one (1) relay entry for the 800 Free Relay after entries are received. The 200 freestyle relay must be entered with 200 relay times while the 200 medley relay must be entered with 400 relay times. If they aren t, they will be changed to your team s 400 relay equivalent. Relay teams must have achieved the qualifying time or may use an aggregate time. If a team has a qualifying relay or uses aggregate times to qualify a relay, then it may use any swimmer entered into the meet, including relay-only swimmers, on the relay. All relays will be swum as timed finals. Some relay heats may be moved to the end of the pre-lim session if the timeline for finals is too long. Relays may be A/B flighted at the discretion of the Meet Referee in the following manner: the top 2-5 heats of women s relays followed by the top 2-5 heats of men s relays will swim slowest to fastest. All other relays will then swim in the B flight, fastest to slowest alternating heats of men and women. There will be a 10 minute break between events and relays in the finals sessions. SCRATCH DEADLINES: Scratch forms will be located at the Control Table on deck. Thursday events will be positive check in by 5:45 PM Other pre-meet scratches can be ed to Paul Bennett (pbennett@wpi.edu) by 6:315 PM on Thursday, December 14, Write SCRATCH: your team name in the subject of the . Thursday, 6:15 pm: all Friday events. Scratches for Friday events may be made at the meet or by to Paul Bennett (pbennett@wpi.edu) by 6:30PM. Friday, 6:15 pm: all Saturday events. Saturday, 6:15 pm: all Sunday events, except the 1650 freestyle. RELAY CHECK-IN & SEEDING: The 200 yard freestyle relay must be positively checked in by 5:30 PM Thursday night. The remaining relays must be positively checked-in by 12 PM the day of the event and The 200 free relay cards must be turned in by 6:15PM on Thursday and the 200 medley relay cards must be turned in by 5:15PM on Saturday. The 400 and 800 relay cards must be turned in by 6:30 PM on the night competed. Each coach shall pick up relay entry forms from the Control Table on which he/she shall list the competing relay swimmers, their first and last names and order of swimming for each entered relay. Relay order may be changed up to the time of the swim.

6 DISTANCE CHECK -IN & SEEDING: Entrants in the 1000 and 1650 yard freestyles must positively check in and confirm their intention to compete by 5:45 PM on Thursday and 10AM on Sunday. During the positive check in process for distance events, coaches will have the option of declaring for a preliminary swim option. Swimmers can also ensure an early distance swim by entering with a nonconforming, qualifying time. SPECIAL SCRATCH NOTES: 1. Coaches and swimmers are expected to understand the scratch, verification and relay rules before the meet begins. 2. Any swimmer who fails to compete in an individual event heat in which he/she is entered and has not been scratched will be barred from further competition for that day, including relays and time trials. The swimmer will be also automatically scratched from his/her remaining events unless the Admin Official has been notified of the swimmers intention to compete by 6:30 PM. NOTE: Finals are considered continuation of events starting with trials. 3. Any swimmer who competes in an preliminary heat and qualifies for finals and fails to notify the Admin Official of his/her intention to withdraw from finals within 30 minutes of the posting of the results and qualifiers for that event, and does not compete nor is excused by the Meet Referee, will be barred from all subsequent competition in the meet, including relays and time trials. 4. On Sunday, any team whose swimmer competes in an individual heat and qualifies for finals and fails to notify the Control Table of his/her intention to withdraw from the finals within 30 minutes of the posting of the results and qualifiers for that event, and does not compete nor is excused by the meet referee, will be fined $100. The Meet Referee may waive the fine, if based on his judgment, the swimmer was ill or the reason for missing the final was beyond the control of the swimmer. WARM UP: USA-Swimming warm-up policies will be in effect for the meet. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups in the warm-up/down pool at all times during the meet. One way sprint lanes will be announced during warm-ups for starting practice only. Coaches must instruct their swimmers to obey these rules. Failure to comply with a designated safety marshal s orders could result in disciplinary action. All swimmers participating in the meet without a USA Swimming registered coach shall report to the referee before warm-ups prior to each session. The last 40 minutes will be controlled warm-up. Lanes 1 & 10 will be pace lanes and 2 & 9 will be sprint lanes. The Meet Referee has discretion to declare more pace and sprint lanes as necessary. Only those swimmers competing in the Thursday evening session will be allowed in for warm-up. NO EXCEPTIONS. On Thursday evening after the session, the pool will be open for 30 minutes to all entered swimmers for warm-up. Failure to abide by these rules and any other rules that may be announced or posted by meet officials during the meet may result in ejection from the facility. DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. All non-athletes on the pool deck must display their USA Swimming registration card at all times. Credentials for this event will be provided at no charge for participating athletes and officials who are members of USA Swimming. Credentials for coaches that will serve as deck passes for this event shall be issued to those coaches listed on each team s deck pass request list in OME. These deck credentials are issued according to the below schedule, based upon the total number of participating athletes. If a team

7 wishes to purchase more coach passes than the below stated amounts, there will be a charge of $25.00 and all coach names and payment must be submitted by the entry deadline. All individuals should check in upon arriving at the meet to pick up their deck passes. 1-3 swimmers in individual events: 1 coach pass 4-6 swimmers in individual events; 2 coach passes 7-9 swimmers in individual events; 3 coach passes swimmers in individual events; 4 coach passes swimmers in individual events; 5 coach passes swimmers in individual events; 6 coach passes swimmers in individual events; 7 coach passes 51 or more swimmers in individual events; 9 coach passes Unattached swimmers with a team shall be included in above schedule even if listed on separate entry Unattached swimmers not with a team: 1 coach pass Replacement passes will be $10 per person COACHES NOTES: 1. All coaches must check in with the Control Table upon arrival at the pool. Heat sheets, scratch cards, and relay cards for that session will be available at the Control Table. Coaches must provide their cell phone numbers for emergency purposes when they pick up their deck passes at the beginning of the meet. 2. Coaches are responsible for checking with the Admin Referee to see if their athlete(s) has scratched into a finals event. 3. Coaches' information will be available at the beginning of warm-ups at each session from the office. These will include the heat sheets for that session and any notes that may be needed. There will be a coaches meeting at 8:40 AM on Friday, then as needed. 4. Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their swimmers at all times. Any damage to the premises or equipment is the responsibility of those doing the damage. Swimmers, parents, coaches, and spectators are restricted to the pool, spectator stands and concession area. 5. No smoking is permitted inside the building. 6. WPI, TNT Swimming, Greenwood Swimming and New England Swimming will not assume responsibility for lost or stolen articles. Parents are in charge of supervising younger children in attendance at the meet. 7. Meet Staff will be patrolling the facility and locker rooms and will have the authority to dismiss swimmers and spectators immediately from the facility. There will be no exceptions. Coaches are responsible for communicating this to both swimmers and parents. SAFETY: 1. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. There will be no diving in the warm-up and warm-down areas at any time 2. No shaving is permitted at the competition site. 3. No glass containers are permitted within the facility. 4. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups. 5. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, locker rooms, behind the blocks, or in any marked NO CAMERA ZONE. 6. Deck changes are prohibited.

8 DRONES: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Exceptions may be granted with prior written approval by the Vice President of Program Operations RULES: Current USA Swimming rules will govern all competition. Decisions by the Meet Referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum. All swimmers, coaches and officials will follow the USA Swimming code of conduct under article 304 of the USA Swimming rules and regulations. Any violation of such policy will be reported to the Meet Referee and the New England Swimming office for further review and/or action. SAFE SPORT: The conduct of all participants and spectators at a meet is governed by USA Swimming Rules 304/305. Any and all infractions must be reported to an official, the Meet Referee or the Meet Director to be resolved. USA Swimming and NE Swimming encourage all to report any witnessed or suspected forms of abuse/safe sport violations to the NE Swimming Safe Sport Chair, Anne Kaufman: nesafesport@gmail.com ( ) or through the USA-S online reportable form. PHOTOGRAPHY/ PHOTOGRAPHERS ON DECK: As per New England Swimming policy, professional photographers contracted by Greenwood Swimming/TNT or press photographers who have been approved in advance by the Meet Director are allowed on deck. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted behind the starting blocks, including in any spectator area behind the starting blocks, nor in any other marked NO CAMERA ZONE, including on deck. All NO CAMERA ZONES will be clearly designated. the Meet Director with questions and requests Individuals without proof of registrations will be removed from the pool deck, and will be subject to a fine by New England Swimming. TIMERS AND OTHER WORKERS: According to New England Swimming policy, GS will make timing assignments for this meet based on the size of a team s entry. Please be cooperative and punctual. We need the full cooperation of all teams, large and small, to adequately run this meet. All teams will be given timing/work assignments based on the number of entries. Teams treating this meet as a team travel meet need to assure that they have enough parental workers at the meet to fulfill their team obligation. The timing assignments will be posted on the web page with ample time to get workers. All swimmers in the prelim heats of the 1000 and 1650, and the B flights of the 500 free and 400 IM are reminded that they must provide at least 2 timers and 1 counter for these distance events. NO SHOW WORKERS: If a team does not provide the timers it has been assigned at a championship meet, the team will be fined $100 per incident and will not be allowed to enter swimmers in another New England meet until the fine(s) is paid. This can be appealed to the Board of New England Swimming and is enforced only if the meet management has properly assigned timers based on the number of swimmers a team has entered in the meet. OFFICIALS: This meet has been designated as a National Qualifying Meet (OQM) to all officials who wish and are eligible to be evaluated for advancement or re-certification. Opportunities will exist for N2 and N3 evaluations in all positions as approved by USA Swimming. All officials seeking an evaluation should complete and submit an Application to Officiate and are asked to complete the Request for Evaluation form and send the completed document to Ken Galica at KennethGalica@gmail.com. As an OQM, this meet is open to officials from all LSC s. Application to Officiate Request for Evaluation.

9 Officials not requesting evaluations are also requested to help with the pre-meet planning for this meet by stating their availability to help as soon as possible. Please provide the information requested on the Application to Officiate. All applications to officiate that are received by the meet entry deadline will count towards the work requirements for the official's team. "Walk-on" officials are always welcome and will be assigned to positions that are not filled. The uniform for all preliminary sessions and all timed final sessions will be navy blue bottoms with white polo shirts. The uniform for all finals sessions will be khaki bottoms and navy blue polo shirts. Officials briefings will take place one hour before the start of competition. For specific questions concerning your availability or for further information, please contact the Meet Referee before the meet: SCORING PLACE IE RELAYS AWARDS: The first 3 places in individual events and in relays will receive awards. Timelines for the evening sessions, including any awards ceremonies, will be distributed during the finals warm-ups. Awards will be presented to the top three high point winners for women, men and teams. A high point distance towel will be given to the top female and male swimmer scorers in the combined distance events. The high point ceremony will take place on Sunday evening at the conclusion of the session. Coaches are responsible for making sure their swimmers are present to receive their award. Please note that only the top 20 final swims will be scored for team and high point awards. ADMISSION: $5.00 per session. PROGRAMS: $3.00 per session MEET MOBILE: Meet Mobile will be functional for this meet. All users should be aware that Meet Mobile publishes unverified raw data which cannot be relied upon until the official results and been published and posted in the facility. RESULTS: Event results will be posted on the pool deck and in the spectator area immediately after each event and on live results from the NE Swimming website: HOSPITALITY: Coaches and officials will be served lunch and dinner at the appropriate times. Coffee and bagels will be provided in the morning and cold drinks and snacks will be available throughout the meet. READY ROOM: A Ready Room will be used at this meet prior to each final event. Each swimmer participating in the A final must report to the Ready Room 10 minutes preceding the event. FOOD: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet. EQUIPMENT VENDOR: Swimwear-in-Motion will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for Friday and Saturday all day and Sunday prelims. LOCKER ROOMS: The locker room area will be strictly for use by properly credentialed individuals. Do

10 not leave locks on lockers overnight. Do not leave valuables in your locker. WPI, Greenwood Swimming and New England Swimming are not responsible for lost or stolen property. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Medical assistance will be provided at the facility. If you require medical assistance, please notify a facility lifeguard, or a member of the meet staff.
