30 Squash Strings It is the sum of all components that goes into the racket that makes the difference from an average product to something extraordinary. The string is sometimes a bit neglected, but it is really a key component of outmost importance. After all, you don't hit the ball with your racket frame (at least, not intentionally); you hit it with the string. Certainly, the racket frames is no doubt very important, because it holds the string, but the string has huge impact on power, control, and feel to every stroke quality makes a difference. Squash string is a very technical product, even though differences may not be easy to see at first glance, variables include diameter/thickness, materials and construction of the string. In addition, string tension has a huge impact on how the string performs. When we set out to design and build Salming squash rackets we required a unique high quality technical string. Therefore, we have formed a partnership with DoubleAR, a technical yarn specialist in northern Italy that holds a number of unique solutions and patents for their high quality squash strings. SOME OF THE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ARE ANTI WAVE SYSTEM We act at the molecular stage, changing radically the polymer structure of our monofilaments fram a traditional "in line" one into a new "in wave" one. Once the ball hits the string pattern, this new molecular disposition is able to counteract the negative vibrations generated by the impact. The player is able to benefit of a significant vibrations reduction without sacrificing performance and playability of the set up. This innovative technology is applied to the entire product range. EXCLUSIVE MATERIALS THERMONYL CHALLENGE Using the best quality Italian nylon and applying more than 15 in house processing stages in order to obtain Thermonyl the first high performance nylon monofilament available on the squash market. DoubleAR has succeeded where others have failed: to create a monofilament with the same (or even more ) power than top quality multifilament, capable to tolerate the extreme shock caused by the impact of a squash ball. Thermonyl is used for Salming Challenge string. For Thermonyl we can also offer a Bi-color technology, which allows to us to produce a unique filament with alternating colors without afflicting the yarn properties. The Challenge string enables us to offer an infinite range of possible customizations possibilities. The exclusive Thermonyl material gives the Challenge string: - Pure performance - Great feel, and; - Exceptional power. ULTRANYL INSTINCT RESPONSE Research and development is at the heart of DoubleAR and for 2015 Salming is proud to launch the latest material development from DoubleAR - Ultranyl which is featured in the new Instinct Response string and Instinct Everlast. Ultranyl is a revolutionary material able to fix all the weaknesses of traditional nylon (tension maintenance, durability) and enhance its positive features (power, feel and comfort). Instinct Response and Instinct Everlast is a blend of Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6 which, combined in a secret co-extrusion formula, determine a new standard in the nylon strings world. Technical lab data shows that Ultranyl has 50% more tension stability than standard Thermonyl and 75% more tension stability than common Nylon monofilaments. Together with all the unique Salming technologies, Kobra is wrapped up into one agile shoe. A new Wrap Around System Design (WAS Design) In order to facilitate agility and stability but still maintain the lightweight characteristics, we have designed the midsole rear end with higher side walls that wraps around the heel area. In combination with the LMS Plus 8 and the new fully integrated ExoSkeleton construction, it ensures an excellent stability and perfect fit. ExoSkeleton fully integrated! Kobras ExoSkeleton design is totally integrated with the lacing construction in order to facilitate the best possible wrap-around effect of the foot. This keeps the foot it in the right position during lateral movements and high performance activities. LMS - Lateral Movement Stabilizer An especially designed composite unit integrated into the midsole, that supports the foot during fast and irregular lateral movements. LMS Plus 8 and RollBar technology A winning combination - the 8 angle concept on the outer edge of the shoe helps avoid the risk of ankle injury and our innovative RollBar technology on the inner outsole edge, enables quicker and better lateral push-off. Salming s unique T.G.S. 62/75 At the core of the shoe s design, as on all Salming shoes by the way, you will find Salming s T.G.S. 62/75 system. This unique system specifically designates the distance from heel to the ball of the foot (62% of the shoe) in order to optimize stability, comfort, and performance. Key to this design is the firmer, stabilizing section which ends at the ball of the foot at the socalled ballet line, a 75 angle. In front of the 75 line, we have equipped Salming Kobra with a specially composed section which gives greater flexibility in order to further stimulate the foot s natural movements.
