1 WATER SKI & WAKEBOARD AWARDS AND RECOGNITION Water Ski & Wakeboard BC annually presents the following awards to selected members to recognize their achievements and contributions to Towed water sports. These awards will be presented each year at the Annual General Meeting of the Association. The following criteria apply to all Water Ski & Wakeboard BC Awards: Persons nominated must be a member in good standing of WSWBC. Persons nominated can be competitive or recreational athletes. Persons nominated do not have to be members of a water ski club. Persons nominated must be residents of British Columbia. Nominations can be from individuals or clubs. Awards will be presented at each WSWBC Annual General Meeting. All persons who are nominated, other than the award winner, will receive a certificate of recognition from WSWBC. Deadline for nominations is December 31 each year. CURTIS MCDONELL MEMORIAL TROPHY Presented each year to an individual or group who has made outstanding contributions to the sport. 3 KIM DEMACEDO SKIER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Established in 1987 to commemorate Kim s achievements that year, helping Canada win the World Junior Championship title and being named to the Senior National Team, at the age of 14. In 1993 a special tier was added to the trophy to recognise Kim s winning Women s Jump at the Worlds in Singapore, and the Overall title at the US Open. Presented each year to a skier for outstanding performance achievement or improvement. 5 The WAKESKATE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (added October 2012) Is presented each year to a Wakeskate athlete who has had outstanding results and improvement during the season. The recipient of this award is chosen by the WSWBC Awards Committee from nominations received from the membership Tanner Champion 2013 No Nominations The RICHARD GRAY BAREFOOT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (added October 2010 and updated in 2012) Is presented each year to a Barefoot athlete who has had outstanding results and improvement during the season.
