2 Battle on the Gorge 7v7 Spring Kickoff Black Diamond FC and Fayette County Youth Soccer Registration The initial team registration must be received by Sunday February 23, 2014 either by mail or . Completed tournament rosters must be presented at registration along with parent signatures. Player pass cards are required at registration. If pass cards are not available for a player then a copy of the player s birth certificate is required. The player release form with signatures is also required at the time of registration. All teams must register one (1) hour prior to their first match at the registration shelter. Awards Championship Awards will be given to the 1 st place team in each overall age division. Runner up Awards will be given to all 2 nd place teams in the overall age bracket. Rules for Outdoor 7 v 7 Soccer Games are based on FIFA Laws modified for outdoor play. 1. Number of Players: 6 field players and one goalkeeper as set forth below. a. All Teams 6 + goalkeeper b. Coed teams must have a minimum of two (2) females, excluding the goalkeeper, on the field at all times. Teams must have a minimum of five (5) players to begin, continue and conclude a match. The official will start the game clock as scheduled, but provide teams with fewer than five (5) players, a five (5) minute grace period to produce the minimum required five (5) players before a forfeit is awarded to the opposing team, with the resulting score registered as a 3-0 result. 2. Ball: Home team (1st on schedule) provides. U8/U10/U12 Size 4 U13 & Up Size 5 3. Substitutions: Unlimited on the fly with the referee s permission. Must occur at the halfway line and must not interfere with play. Substituted Player must leave field of play before incoming player enters field of play. 4. Rosters: Fourteen (14) per team max. A maximum of two (2) additional adult personnel, coach or otherwise, are allowed in the player s bench. Only the players registered on the team roster are eligible to play. Players are not eligible to compete on more than on team in the same division. Teams with an ineligible player on the field will forfeit the match (0-3 Loss). 5. Equipment: a. Molded cleats. b. All players must wear shin guards. c. Teams are required to have a numbered dark colored jersey and an alternate numbered light colored jersey.

3 6. Duration of Play: Type of Play All Ages Half Halftime 2x25 4 minutes Overtime will only be played in the playoff elimination round. Overtime will use one (1) 5 minute period with golden goal sudden death rule in effect. If a tie remains at that time penalty kicks will determine the winner. 1 shooter for each team and it continues until one team s shooter converts and the opposing team does not. 7. Kickoff: On the whistle, ball may be played in any direction on the first touch. The first (1 st ) team to be lined up for the opening kick-off will be rewarded with the opening ball possession. All kickoffs are indirect. 8. Five Second Restart Rule: A restart must occur within 5 seconds of placing the ball for a free kick, corner kick or goal kick. Goalkeepers must also release within 5 seconds after gaining possession and returning to their feet. No punting by the goalkeeper allowed. All releases must by distributed by the hands. 9. Ball Out of Play: If the ball has wholly crossed the goal line or touch line whether on the ground or in the air, the restart is a corner kick or throw-in. Throw-ins will be used on the sidelines. 10. Injuries: Any player who is bleeding must leave the field. Time will not be stopped for injuries. 11. Indirect Free Kicks / Offsides: Opposing players must give 4 yards on all kicks and corner kicks or may be cautioned (Rekick). Kickers may not play these kicks a second time until the ball is touched by another player. All fouls will result in an indirect free kick. All kicks restarting play are indirect including corner kicks, goal kicks, etc. The Offsides Rule will not be enforced. 12. Misconduct Rules: a. YELLOW: A warning caution, no time penalty for this offense. b. Red: Ejection without replacement for the duration of match. The offender must leave the playing area (which includes the player s bench) and sit out the team s next match. c. Coaches can be issued cards and their team will play short one player for the required time. Notes: Goalkeepers must serve their own penalties. Black Diamond FC has a Zero Tolerance Policy towards fighting. Any player engaged in fighting will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament and reported to the WV Soccer Association. A second incident of fighting from any player on a team, in which a player has been previously suspended, will result in the ejection of the team from the current tournament, without refund and may warrant exclusion from future sessions. 13. Referees: One referee will be assigned to each match. Referees may ask for 1 parent from each team to assist with calling the out of bounds for each sideline. All referees calls are final and no challenges or appeals will be entertained.

4 14. Tie Breakers: 1. Head to Head 2. Goal Differential (goals scored minus goals allowed, max 5) 3. Most goals scored 4. Least goals allowed 5. Number of forfeits 6. Sudden Death Penalty Kicks (1 player from each team, any eligible player may be chosen to kick) 15. Point System: Win=3 Tie=1 Loss=0 Shutout=1 (except 0-0) Maximum of 5 goals per game for goal differential in tie breakers. 16. Playoff / Championships: Seeding is done using the point system referenced above. Brackets with 2 groups (6 or more teams) the group winner will play for the Championship game. Brackets with 1 group (4 or 5 teams) first and second place teams are determined by point total and will play for Championship game. 17. Field Dimensions: U8 / U10 Length 60 Width 40 U12 & Up Length 70 Width Brackets: Age brackets and groupings will be based on USYSA ages, on or before 1 st of August. A player may play up if they choose to do so. Black Diamond FC reserves the right to combine age groups to form a viable bracket in the event that there are too few registrations to fulfill an age bracket. 19. Refunds: In the event of a tournament cancellation, all funds will be returned with the exception of a 20% administrative fee for expenses associated with organizing the tournament. I assume full and complete responsibility for any and all medical and/or dental bills arising out of my or my child s participation in the Black Diamond FC and Fayette County Youth Soccer sponsored activity, and hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless both entities and its parties from any and all liability associated with my or my child s participation in clinics/camps. I insure that I am or my child is physically and mentally able to participate in physical activities and have been examined by a licensed medical physician within one (1) year prior to attending this clinic/camp/tournament. I give permission for Black Diamond FC and/or Fayette County Youth Soccer and its associates or contracted health care provide to start preliminary treatment and arrange transportation for me or my child to a local Emergency Room in the event that I or my child become(s) ill or injured.
