3 Preparation In Advance: Get in shape (Aerobic workout / Running off- and pre-season) Know your mechanics (Attend clinics & meetings) Know your rules (Read the rule book over and over) Confirm with your partner Clean / Check your uniform & equipment Know where you re going n Game Day: Arrive at least minutes before game time (Get there earlier if possible) NCAA / NFHS / MYA Rules Conduct Pre-Game Conference with your partner Game Clock & ime (Who is keeping time? 7 Coin oss winner gets choice of goal to defend or first alternate possession. R U Note: Pre-game whistles belong to coaches! Don t blow your whistle until you call the players for the line-up. Note: R should leave about 5 steps before the U leaves to get the home team set up. 7 R gets Home, and has them face the bench. Visitor calls toss before coin toss. Catch coin, and don t flip it over. If you drop it, re-flip. Rotate their backs to goal they are defending. Coin oss

13 ead gets signal from rail, checks activity of players, then gets the ball ready for play. rail calls out flag down, stops play at appropriate time, tells his partner what the call is, then gets out in open and relays call to table. 18 New ead can pick up the quick offside, but should concentrate on getting to the goal. ake 10 second count coming over midfield. look rail (new ead) breaks out when goalie makes save. Runs a few strides, then looks for ball. If still coming, beat ball to offensive box, then goal. NCAA 30 sec count is taken by the new rail ead (new rail) has the 4 second crease count and 20 second defensive count. Stays w/the ball. Watches for late hits. 18 ransition

40 Situations to watch for: 1) How much time is left in period? 2) How much time is left in the penalty? 3) If less than 3-5 sec., tell table not to release until possession (except NFHS) 4) Watch player coming out of box B Communicate which number may be staying onsides.
