2 Rule 1 The Field of Play PSA Indoor Soccer Rules 1.1 PSA Divided turf usage. Field Dimensions: PSA1: The length of the field will be 100 feet long and 65 feet wide. PSA2, PSA-McKinney and PSA-Murphy : The length of the field is 92 feet and are 65 feet wide. The full size turf field is divided into two small sized fields with a drop down curtain with equal goals at both ends. 1.2 Marking: The small fields are marked with distinctive 5 wide yellow lines 5. The markings are to scale of the full size turf fields. The small size turf fields are divided into halves with a center circle for Kick-Offs and a halfway line dividing the field equally. There is a 9 circle in each of the following areas: the halfway line and at the top of each Penalty Arch as well as the four (4) locations for the Corner Kicks. The function of each of the spots on the turf is as follows. The center of each line is as follows; the circle in the center of the Penalty Area is the location for Free Kick Re-Starts following fouls against the defending team, the circle in the middle of the field is for Kick-Offs. If there should be a Superstructure violation, (the ball hitting the ceiling or any fixture within the playing field, the center circle will be the placement of the ball for that Re- Start. 1.3 Penalty Area (Goal Area): At each end of the field of play two lines are drawn. They are six (6) feet from the outside of each goal standard. These lines extend into the field of play a distance of eighteen (18) feet. From the midpoint where these lines end there is an arch of 180 that completes the Penalty Area. 1.4 Free Kick Mark: There is a nine (9) inch circle at the top of each Penalty Area Arch for free kick restarts. 1.5 Kick Ins All Kick-Ins take place from the place on the turf where the ball was deemed by the referee to be out of play. The ball must be stationary and the distance shall be between from the wall. The distance is at the discretion of the referee. 1.6 Corner Kick Mark and Corner Flag: A Corner Spot and corresponding Corner Flag are located at each of the four corners. This indicates the location from which the Corner Kicks are taken. The corner flags are mounted on the netting a minimum of three (3) feet above the top of the wall. 1.7 Goals: A Goal is placed in the center of each Goal Line within the perimeter wall. The Goals consist of two vertical goal standards five (5) feet tall and equidistant from the corner flags and are equidistant from the inside of the goal standard. The bottom of the crossbar is five (5) feet from the turf. The goal structure is covered with netting on the left and right side and the top. The back wall is solid. 1.8 Player Benches: Player benches marked HOME and VISITOR are on either side of the Scorekeeper s area and the two Penalty boxes. Each bench has two doors for access to the field. The Visiting team will use the door nearest to the Visitors sign on the wall of the facility. The Home team will use the other end of the Player Box. These designations, Home & Visitor are listed each roster. All of the doors on both ends of the benches have latching doors. These doors are to be closed at all times, unless your team is making a substitution. Holding that door open waiting for the player coming off the field is not allowed, for safety reasons. The Referees are prompted to stop play if a coach leaves the door open. Safety for everyone is PSA s ultimate objective. The area above the shorter perimeter wall has netting that spans from six foot to the top of the structure. 1.9 Penalty Boxes: Penalty Boxes for each team are located on either side of the Scorekeepers area. Each Penalty Box has a door that opens to the field
