1 Requirements for Yellow elt Part I: Kicking Techniques Front Kick Side Kick balls of the feet. blade of the foot. Foot pivoted degrees Foot pivoted 120 Key Points Internal vs. External Energy For most techniques, Internal power should be used 70% of the time. External should be used 30%. Internal: Relaxed body with no power. External: Tense body executing power. 2. Single Entity vs. Double Entity The entire body should be treated as a single entity. Single Entity: Utilizing your entire body to execute a technique. Double Entity: Only using your arms or legs to execute a technique.

2 Part II: Hand Techniques Middle Punch Face Punch Target area is the Solar Plexus. Target area is the upper lip. Two large knuckles impact the target. Toes pointed forward. Low Stance Down lock Chamber Down lock Chamber above the shoulder. Finger nails toward your face. Hand finishes on the inside of the thigh and two fists distance away. Non-blocking hand should be relaxed and act as a counter balance. High lock Chamber High lock locking hand begins at the opposite hip. locking hand finishes with the blocking wrist (located an inch below the wrist) in the center of the forehead. Distance from head is one fist. Key Points Solar Plexus Impact Solar Plexus is a dense cluster of nerve cells. Impact to the solar plexus causes pain and disrupts breathing. Face punch (fulcrum) Impact n attack to the upper lip can break teeth and potentially knocking the person out.

3 Part III: Kicking Combinations 1. Rear leg round-house kick to rear leg round-house kick. 2. Lead foot round-house kick to rear leg round-house kick. 3. Front kick toward the front of the classroom. Put foot down and side kick toward the side of the classroom. Re-chamber each kick and place your foot back under your shoulder. Do not let it drop straight down after your kick. Part IV: Poomsae: Kibom Poomsae Focus on good front stances throughout the form. Focus on hitting the target areas with blocks and punches. Make sure your head height stays the same between transitions (remember, front stances are low stances).

4 Part V: One-Step Sparring ttacker: Face Punch Defender: Left foot step forward into forward stance. Left hand face block. Right hand face punch (kihap). Key points:. Lead foot steps to the outside of the attacker.. Re-chamber high block when counter punching. ttacker: ody punch Defender: Right foot step forward 45 degrees into horse-riding stance. Left hand outside forearm block. Right hand middle punch, followed by left hand middle punch (kihap). C. Maintain close distance when stepping into horse-riding stance.. Maintain a good horse-riding stance. C. Focus on hitting target areas. ttacker: ody Punch Defender: Right foot step forward 45 degrees into horse-riding stance. Left hand knife-hand block. Right hand double middle punch (right hand then left hand punch) to solar plexus. Right hand face punch (kihap).. lock with the blade of the hand.. Shoulders should drive forward slightly on the punches. C. Loud Kihap.

5 Part VI: Sparring One minute and non-contact sparring. Show control by coming close to impacting the other person. Demonstrate a variety of kicking combinations.
