2 Welcome to our 2017 Sale We appreciate the time and effort for those of you who look over our offering in this catalog and who have invested in our genetics in the past. We truly hope the animals you have purchased in the past have lived up to your expectations. And we also truly believe the genetics are moving forward in a positive way because the bulls in this sale are some of the best we have produced in this, our 30 th year, in the Gelbvieh business. Our Balancer Futurity for the National Western this year was one of the best we ve ever raised; however it was not to be because he died two weeks before we left for Denver. If there is any good news to come from that, it s that there are several good half-brother Yarborough sons in this year s sale. Besides the Yarborough sons, don t overlook the offspring by King James, BARB 114Y and our newest herdsire, Edison. Once again a supplement sheet will be available sale day with yearling weights, ultrasound data and scrotal measurements. And most importantly, we ve had two grand babies in the last 60 days (Rhett Thomas by Cody and Samantha and Karlee Marie by Matt and Sarah). 3 Raile Gelbvieh/Balancer Production Sale Thursday March 9 th :30 p.m. MST Burlington Livestock Exchange Burlington, Colorado Sale Day Phone: Selling: 50 Spring Yearling Bulls and 5 Select Open Females (several Homo Black and some Homo Polled) Auctioneer: Joe Frazier McCook, NE First Season Breeding Guarantee: Buyers of all bulls selling for $2,500 or more injured the first breeding season will have credit at the next sale at the value of the purchase price minus salvage value. Contact Raile Gelbvieh promptly so the decision to return the bull to Raile Gelbvieh or sold by buyer may be made. First breeding season begins at turn out and ends September 1 st of the year of the purchase. Death loss is the buyer s risk as one can purchase mortality insurance. We will feed the bulls free of charge until April 1 st at the purchaser s risk; $2.50/day thereafter. Trucking: Free trucking on bulls of $2,500 or more within a 200 mile radius. Otherwise to a central location. If bulls are taken home sale day there is a $50 per head discount. Viewing: Bulls may be viewed at home or online at All bulls have been ultrasounded DNA Tested: All bulls have had a DNA test for coat color and BVD-PI negative and some for the homozygous polled trait. Herd Health: All bulls have had shots, been poured and will have passed a semen test by sale day. Necessary health papers will be supplied with each sale animal.
