Competitions The Swissalpine Irontrail comprises several competitions of various disciplinary standards. 2 General Information page UTMB - Qualification Race Regarding registration for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), the following points will be awarded: T127: 6 points, T88: 4 points, T43: 3 points, T39 and T29: 2 points, K43: 1 point. The special scores of the T127 to Samedan (62 km) / Bergün (88 km) warrant 4 points. The special rating of the T88 to Bergün (48 km) is awarded 3 points. For the K23, K10, H20, H21 and H16, no UTMB points will be awarded. Only the finishers of the routes receive the respective points. 2. Registration Basically, registration is carried out online ( The whole registration process, as well as management of participant data, is conducted by Datasport. By registering for the Swissalpine, participants accept the Swissalpine Irontrail regulations. 3 General Information page 3 Discounts: - Residents of The Grisons receive a discount of CHF10.00 for the events T127, T88, T39, K43 and T43. - Juniors (U18) pay the amount in brackets. The following methods of payment are possible: Late registrations can be paid for cash in CHF or Euro (exchange rate 1:1) on site. A change in race is only possible by to info@swissalpine.ch by 15th July After this, it is only possible during issue of the starting numbers. When a registration is changed from a longer to a shorter distance, the difference in starting fee will not be reimbursed. When a change in race registration is made to a longer distance, the difference in starting fee must be paid. If the change is made on site, an additional surcharge of CHF 20.- must also be paid Registration Close Online registration is possible up to an hour before the Start of the respective event. Payment of the starting fee for registrations made using a registration form must be made by 10 th July The post mark date validates this Cancellation of Registration Participants are strongly recommended to take out a cancellation insurance when registering. This insurance enables reimbursement to be claimed (in form of a Datasport coupon / voucher or cash), particularly in the case of injury or illness in which case, a doctor s certificate will be required. A cancellation insurance can only be taken out during online-registration. Further information is given in the insurance terms and conditions on the website of Datasport: It is possible that settlement by the insurance company may take some time. In the case of non-starting due to illness or injury (accident), it is not possible to transfer the starting place to the

4 General Information page 4 following year. 3. Railway Tickets For environmental reasons it is strongly recommended to travel by public transport. This also turns the journey to and from the races into an unforgettable experience! Swiss Runners Tickets and Regio Tickets are included in the starting fees for all categories. Swiss Runners Ticket All participants can profit by travelling free of charge using public transport from their place of residence, Swiss border railway station or airport to the starting location and back via usual or annual train pass routes in second class. All participants will receive a start card from Datasport with two personal promotion codes. With these promotion codes, two free public transport return tickets can be printed out exclusively from sbb.ch/ticketshop for the journey in second class. The Starter s cards will be distributed in the beginning of July 2018 by Datasport to the addresses supplied during registration. Swiss Runners Tickets are personal and only valid on the return journey together with a start number. Should there be a control, the ticket needs to be presented with the Starter s card. The earliest possible journey to the race start location is 17 th July; the latest return journey possible is on 2 nd August. Further information can be found at sbb.ch/swissalpine from the middle of February Regio Ticket (regional tickets) All participants can travel between 21 st and 29 th July, 2017 free of charge on the following public transport routes: RhB railway: Klosters Dorf Davos Filisur Klosters Vereina Samedan Chur St. Moritz Samedan Pontresina St. Moritz Chur Arosa All participants will be given a personal promotion code on the Starter s card from Datasport. With this promotion code, a second class Regio Ticket pass can be printed out exclusively from rhb.ch/en/swissalpine. The Starter s cards will be distributed in the beginning of July 2018 by Datasport to the addresses given during registration. In the train, the ticket is only valid in printed form. 3.1 Arriving by car The following parking locations are recommended for participants arriving by car: Davos Dorf: Lake parking or the Parsenn ski lift parking Davos Platz: Jakobshorn ski lift parking 4. Refreshments (food and drink) As soon as the locations of the refreshment stations have been determined, these will be marked on the race pro-

5 General Information page 5 file map. The latest version of the route map showing the refreshment stations will be published in the internet. Waste bins will be provided at all refreshment stations. Littering outside of the refreshment zones is strictly prohibited. 5. Timing and Tracking All participants are entitled to an accurate race time. This is made possible by a disposable chip integrated in the Starter s number. Various intermediate times will be recorded electronically during the races. The exact location of these intermediate times is given on the route map for each race. Special Rankings Participants on the T127 can finish the race early in Samedan (61 km) or in Bergün (86 km). These runners will be classified in a separate ranking. Participants on the T88 can finish the race early in Bergün (46 km). These runners will be classified in a separate ranking. Special rankings result in a special prize or an award ceremony. 5.2 Tracking Participants on the T127 and T88 will be equippped by Datasport with a Tracking system. Participants of those two categories can decide between a GPS-Tracker for CHF 15.- or the free of charge Datasport Event App. For those who want to let their friends and family participate at their competition, the App can be upgraded with the DS live gold for CHF Thanks to this service they are at all times informed about the location of the participant. More information here. Important notice: The Tracking ist part of the security concept. Therefore a newer smartphone with full batteries is required.

6 General Information page 6 The GPS Trackers have to be ordered at the time of registration. (limited while stocks last). 6. Security and Medical Services If participants encounter difficulties due to injuries or health problems, they must abide by the following instructions: 1. If possible, proceed to or contact the next refreshment station. 2. Ask other participants for help. 3. Call the race emergency number. The locations of medical services are noted on the route map. 7. Route markings / Finish, Withdrawal from the Race A prior in-depth study of the route is strongly recommended. Even though the routes are marked, some individual route markers may be missing or moved by weather conditions (wind) or third parties. All routes are marked by flags, warning tape, coloured spray markings and signs. Sectors which runners may encounter during the night, will be marked with reflective materials. All competitions are subject to time limits, which must be adhered to by all participants. These are given in the respective time schedules in each case. Participants must leave the time stations before the end of the given time limit. Runners who arrive too late will be removed from the race by the person responsible. Such participants must return their optional tracking device to the finishing line stewards in Davos. Starter s numbers serve as travel passes for the journey home using public transport. Except in cases of injury or exhaustion, participants can only retire from the race at one of the refreshment stations. They must always report to the steward in charge of the station and follow his instructions. Participants who retire from the T127 and T88 events must return their tracking device to the finishing line stewards in Davos. 8. Starting numbers are personal, must be displayed throughout the race and be clearly visible on the participant's chest, stomach or thigh. They entitle participants to refreshments, medical care, entry to rest areas, showers and baggage drop-offs as well as travel by public transport. It is prohibited to give the personal Starter s number to another person. Participants must collect their Starter s numbers personally. Disposable Timing Chips for all Events The timing chip is integrated into the starting number and does not have to be returned. Tracker for T127 / T88 The tracker device enables electronic tracking, and must be returned immediately by the participant after reaching the Finish line. Participants will be charged CHF for trackers which are not returned. The tracker must be returned by participants in to the stewards at the Finish line in Davos, after withdrawal from the race, or after disqualification from the race. 9. Transport / Deposition of Running Gear Participants in all competitions can leave their running gear in an official bag sized 40 x 50 cm at the Start and collect it again afterwards at the finish. Transport of Luggage To provide participants who do not start in Davos with the best service possible, their luggage, with a maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23 cm, will be transported free of charge as follows: T127: Fri Deposit at the Promulins Arena Samedan T88: Sat Deposit at the start in St. Moritz H20: Sat Deposit at the start (Arosa) 11. Prizes and the Award Ceremony Participants of all races receive a medal and finisher T-shirt upon completion of the course (excluded KIDS). The first three men and women in the overall category will be named and called up during the award ceremony and be presented with natural prizes. These will only be given to prize winners who are actually present, and will not be forwarded. First-place winners of the various other categories cannot be called up due to time limitations. Date and location of the award ceremony will be published at a later satge.

Lost and Found Lost and found articles should be deposited at the information stand and can be collected there during the races. They cannot be stored or returned by post. 13. Changing Rooms, Toilets and Showers Changing rooms, toilets and showers will be located near the Start / Finish area in Davos and will be signposted. Participants will also have access to changing rooms and toilets in Samedan and Bergün. 14.
