First Pitch ULM looks to right the ship after dropping four straight as it hosts Troy for the first home Sun Belt series of the season this Saturday. Softball Around the Horn Hamby Deals No-Hitter, but Warhawks Swept Samantha Hamby recorded her first career no-hitter on Mar. 29 at then-no. 12 South Alabama but it wasn t enough as the Jags won the contest 2-0. USA eventually swept the series in Mobile. Record Crowd for Steele Strong Tuesday s home game against LSU was dubbed Steele Strong Night, to benefit former ULM pitcher Lindsay Rittenhouse-Becton s son, Steele, who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The Warhawks had a record 1,081 fans on hand for the contest, which ULM lost, Games 30 & 31 Apr. 5 vs. Troy ( , 1-6 Sun Belt) 2/4 p.m. Game 32 Apr. 6 vs. Troy 1 p.m. Faith Bohack s.378 average is seventh in the league while Sidney Coy s.367 mark ranks ninth. Scouting the Warhawks Two of the conference s top 10 sluggers are Hollie Letourneau (1st,.743 SLG) and Faith Bohack (6th,.646 SLG). Bohack leads the Warhawks at the plate, hitting.378 with 23 RBI. Meanwhile, Miyuki Navarrete is second on the team in hits with 30. She is 28-of-31 stealing bags this year and is the national leader in stolen bases per game. In the circle, Samantha Hamby, Jessica Colliver and Haylie Wilson have split the innings in conference play so far. Hamby has fanned a team-high 40 batters. As a team, ULM has a commanding lead in stolen bases in the conference, swiping 83 bags this year. The Holloway-Hill File Head coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill is in her 30th season at the helm of the Warhawks. She is joined on staff by first year assistants Ashlyn Williams and Garrett Furnal.
