Began the season with Triple-A Colorado Springs before being recalled by the Rockies on 6/21 on pitching that day with a start for Colorado vs. Milwaukee, his fi rst Major League action since 2012 (7/28/12). Made three starts for Colorado, allowing 19 runs, 14 earned, in 13.1 innings pitched before being optioned back to Colorado Springs on 7/3. Recalled for a second stint on 8/27 and worked exclusively in relief the rest of the way, posting a 0.96 ERA (1 ER, 9.1 IP) in 12 games from 8/27 through the end of the season. On 9/1/14 he pitched in a game that was suspended on 5/22/14 between the Rockies and Giants, a game he was not currently on the active roster for when the game was suspended allowed one run in 1.2 innings, being tagged with the loss in that game, with his stats being credited to the date of 5/22/ : Made just four starts for Triple-A Colorado Springs before being placed on the disabled list on 4/28 with back inflammation, missing the remainder of the season. 2012: Made his Major League debut for Colorado with 16 starts for the Rockies. Made his Major League debut that day on 5/9/12 at Petco Park against the Padres, working 6.0 innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on fi ve hits and one walk with seven strikeouts to earn his fi rst career victory as the Rockies won by a score of 6-2. Went on to go 4-1 with a 4.50 ERA (18 ER, 36.0 IP) over his fi rst six starts from 5/9-6/4, with the Rockies 4-2 in those starts. Recorded his fi rst career hit on 5/25/12 at Cincinnati with a single of Reds starter Johnny Cueto, who he beat that day, earning the win after working 5.0 innings and allowing three runs in the Rockies 6-3 victory. Made 16 starts for Colorado before a stress fracture in his lower back landed him on the disabled list on 8/4, missing the remainder of the season. Struck out 74 batters in his fi rst 16 career starts, the third-most in Rockies franchise history for a pitcher through their fi rst 16 career starts behind only Jhoulys Chacin (88 SO, 87.0 IP) and Shawn Chacon (84 SO, 89.2 IP) struck out 17 in his fi rst two career starts, setting a new Rockies record for most strikeouts through a pitchers for two career games and the most by any Major League pitcher since Stephen Strasburg struck out 22 in his fi rst two games of June Struck out 10 batters in his second career game with a start on 5/14 at San Francisco just the fourth left-hander in Rockies history to strikeout 10 batters in a game. 2011: Played the entire season for Double-A Tulsa, going 6-10 with a 5.00 ERA (74 ER, IP) and 103 strikeouts against 43 walks, earning Texas League Mid-Season All-Star honors. Over 14 starts in the first half of the season he went 5-5 with a 3.89 ERA (33 ER, 76.1 IP), 22 walks and 60 strikeouts. Named the fourth-best prospect in the Rockies organization by Baseball America heading into the season.

His 159 strikeouts on the season were seventh-most among all minor league pitchers. Rated by Baseball America as the second-best prospect in the California League following the season also rated by Baseball America as the second-best prospect in the Rockies organization. Named a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star for Asheville. Began the year with Asheville, going 3-3 with a 2.18 ERA (11 ER, 45.1 IP) and 66 strikeouts against 15 walks over eight starts before being transferred to Modesto and going 3-2 with a 2.54 ERA (21 ER, 74.1 IP) and 93 strikeouts against 28 walks in the California League. 2008: Made his professional debut in the Rockies organization for Single-A Tri-City of the Short-Season Northwest League, going 2-1 with a 3.25 ERA (13 ER, 36.0 IP) in eight starts before being transferred to Single-A Asheville where he made three starts. As a starter he went 4-6 with a 5.68 ERA (36 ER, 57.0 IP) over his 12 starts, while going 0-1 with a 4.71 ERA (19 ER, 36.1 IP) in his 26 relief outings. In his fi rst start on 5/27 at PIT he held the Pirates scoreless on four hits while walking none and striking out two over 5.0 innings. In his second start on 6/2 vs. CHI he earned the win after allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Moved back to the bullpen on 6/14 and allowed just four runs over his next 10 outings and 11.0 innings before going back to the rotation on 8/4. In six starts in August he went 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA (15 ER, 35.2 IP), holding opponents to two-or-fewer runs four times. Worked 7.0 innings on 8/9 at ATL, allowing just one run on a Jonny Gomes home run prior to the home run, had tossed a season-best 16.1 consecutive scoreless innings dating back to 7/4. The home run allowed on 8/9 at ATL also snapped a streak of 82.2 innings and 34 appearances dating back to 9/1/14 (55.2 innings in 2015) without allowing a home run marked his longest single-season streak without allowing a home run (previous best was 43.0 innings from 7/3-8/5/14). Also on 8/9 at ATL he recorded two sac bunt RBI to become the fi rst player in Marlins history to do so and the fi rst player in the Majors since Alex Cora on 7/16/04 was the only pitcher since 1974 to do so, per STATS Inc. On 8/25 vs. PIT he tossed a career-best 8.0 innings while striking out a season-high tying fi ve, earning his fourth win of the season. 2014: Spent the entire season with the Major League club for the first time in his career outside of a stint on the 15-day disabled list for the Marlins. Worked in 32 games total for Miami, including 16 starts. In his 16 starts he went 3-8 with a 4.33 ERA (43 ER, 89.1 IP) and 49 strikeouts against 25 walks with a.268 opponent average, with the Marlins 5-11 in his starts. In his 16 relief appearances he posted a 4.57 ERA (11 ER, 21.2 IP) with 18 strikeouts against 14 walks with a.244 opponent average. Recorded his fi rst career save by working 3.0 scoreless innings against the Padres at Marlins Park on 4/4. Landed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/24 with a sprained right ankle pitched in six games on a minor league rehab assignment before returning from the disabled list on 7/3. On 7/20 vs. SF earned the win after working 7.0 innings and allowing two runs was his fi rst win as a starting pitcher since 7/7/11, three years and 13 days between wins as a starter marked the third-longest span between wins as a starter in Marlins history, with David Weathers eight years and 117 days between wins (5/26/96-9/20/04) and Al Leiter seven years and 221 days (9/24/97-5/3/05), per STATS Inc. 2013: Split the season between the minors and the Major League club, appearing in seven games total for Miami.
