2 Tournament Championships The Broncs are seeking their 12 th Conference Championship in the last 28 years. Rider won MAAC Championships in 2010 and Rider won Northeast Conference Championship Tournaments in 1996, 1995, and 1994, and Rider won East Coast Conference Championships in 1992, 1989, 1987, 1986, 1985 and Rider in MAAC Tournaments This is Rider s 15 th year in the MAAC and the 10 th appearance in the MAAC Championship Tournament and fifth in a row. Rider also qualified for the MAAC Tournament in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and Rider won the MAAC Tournament in 2010 and 2008 and finished runner-up in 2002, 2001 and In 1998 Rider won the MAAC South but lost in the first round of the rain-shortened, single elimination Championship Tournament. In 2010 the Broncs were the third seed and defeated the second seed and host Marist 10-7 before defeating the top seed Canisius twice, 10-5 and 4-2. In 2009 Rider was the fourth seed and lost a pair of one-run games, 2-1 to #1 Manhattan and 9-8 to #2 Canisius. Extra Bases After a 9-22 start the Broncs changed their uniform hat and have gone since then...a very young team, the Broncs start four or five freshmen and two sophomores after graduating four four-year starters last year...broncs also graduated three pitchers last year, two of which were drafted and the third led the team in earned run average as a reliever...in 2009 Manhattan was the top seed and defeated Rider 2-1 in the first round...in 2006 Manhattan was the second seed and defeated Rider 5-0 in the first round...rider is 7-1 when it scored 10 or more runs, 0-11 when it give up 10 or more runs after Friday night...rider is 19-5 when leading after six innings but is now 0-22 when trailing after six innings...rider (2010) and Manhattan (2011) are the last two MAAC Champions. Rider vs. the 2012 MAAC Tournament Field Rider is 3-1 against Manhattan and 0-4 against Canisius this year. 4 How Rider Got Here Rider beat Manhattan 6-4 in Game 1 Thursday, collecting 14 hits, before losing 10-3 to Canisius Friday, collecting just three hits. The Broncs won six of the eight MAAC series this year. Rider won six of its final nine conference games. The Broncs clinched a playoff spot with a 10-3 win at Iona in their final conference game before having the final weekend off from MAAC play. Rider's Championship Runs Rider was 3-0 in the 2010 MAAC Tournament. The Broncs were 3-1 in the 2008 MAAC Tournament, winning the first two games. The Broncs won all three NEC Titles by going 3-0 in the four-team, double-elimination tournament. In the ECC, Rider only swept the 1985 tournament, which was held on Rider s campus field. In 1984, 1987 and 1992, Rider lost the first game and came back to win four straight. In 1986 the Broncs won the first two, but lost the third and won the fourth, and in 1989 Rider won the first, lost the second, and came back to win three in a row. Rider in NCAAs The 1967 Broncs finished fifth in the College World Series. Since then, 10 Rider teams have advanced to an NCAA Regional. Rider advanced to the NCAA Austin Regional in Texas in 2010, losing to the host Longhorns (11-0) and Rice (19-1). Rider went to the NCAA Regional at Cal State Fullerton in 2008, losing to the host Titans (11-0) and to the University of Virginia (8-2). In 1995 and 1996, Rider won NEC titles but lost the NCAA Play-In series against the Ivy League Champions, once to Princeton and once to Penn. In 1987, Rider advanced to the East Regional Championship Game, the final 16 teams in the nation, before losing to Georgia at Georgia Tech. Rider as Tournament Host Rider hosted the MAAC Tournament in 2008, 2009 and 2011 at Waterfront Park in Trenton, home of the Trenton Thunder, the AA New York Yankee affiliate. The previous 10 MAAC Tournaments, as well as 2010, were hosted by Marist at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, NY. Rider hosted the Northeast Conference Tournament in 1996, 95, 94 and 93 at Moody Park in Ewing. Rider hosted the East Coast Conference Tournament at Mercer County Park in 1991, 90, 89 and 86 and at Rider in All-MAAC and MAAC All-Academic Mike Murphy was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Year, while centerfielder Brandon Cotten and designated hitter Ian Lindsay were named First Team All-MAAC. Four Broncs were named to the MAAC All-Academic team: senior Chris Pierfy, junior Tyler Smith and sophomores Mike Campbell and Kyle Kennett. Garden State Honors Seven Broncs were honored by the New Jersey College Baseball Association this year. Brandon Cotten, Mike Murphy and Ian Lindsay were named First Team All-NJ, Adam Wayman was named Second Team All-NJ and Kurt Sowa, Justin Thomas and Zack Mawson were named to the NJ All-Rookie Team.

5 #42 Head Coach Barry Davis Now in his eighth season at Rider...collected his 200 th victory at Rider this year and owns a record of (22-33 this year) at Rider...he enters Game 3 of the 2012 MAAC tournament with an overall college coaching record of was named the New Jersey Coach of the Year in 2010 and the MAAC Coach of the Year in at Georgia Southwestern State University was , winning the 2002 conference regular season and finished with an NAIA national ranking of fifth...was a four-time NJCAA Division III National Coach of the Year at Gloucester (NJ) Community College. #11 Brandon Cotten senior centerfield Wiconisco, PA 2-run home run gave Rider 6-2 lead vs. Manhattan in Game 1 Thursday First Team All- MAAC for second year in a row...team MVP for the second year in a row...first Team All-New Jersey for third year in a row...regarded by many as the finest defensive outfielder in the MAAC and in New Jersey...second on the team in hits (61), leads Rider in triples (4), RBI (32), slugging percentage (.453) and stolen bases (16 for 18) despite missing seven games in April with a foot injury...collected his 200 th career hit in win at Iona May 12 and enters Game 3 of tournament sixth in career hits (209), ninth in career runs (140) and 21 st in career RBI (105)...collected 24 hits in 19 MAAC games, including four against Fairfield...compiled 17 multi-hit games, including two games with four hits, three games with three hits and 12 games with two hits...enjoyed a 14-game hitting streak this year...has batted leadoff 23 times this season and batted third in the lineup 19 times...after Game 2 now has nine career hits in eight MAAC Tournament games. #20 Nick Crescenzo sophomore leftfield Hammonton, NJ Single, walk and run scored in Game 1 Thursday vs. Manhattan enjoyed a five-hit game this year...enters tournament with 52 hits, fourth most on the team, and 107 career hits...played every game this season, starting all but one...collected 28 hits in 24 MAAC games this season...batted second in the batting order 29 times this season and led off 16 games...his 212 at bats this season leads the team...third on the team in stolen bases with 12...batted.385 in series with Manhattan with five hits...collected his 98 th, 99 th and 100 th career hits in a 4-3, extra inning win at Saint Peter s...was a Freshman All-American last year after being named the MAAC and New Jersey Rookie of the Year as well as Second Team All-MAAC. #28 Patrick Devlin fifth-year senior lefty pitcher Richboro, PA Won his first start of the season, striking out four Norfolk State batters in five innings of work...14 career wins...member of the 2010 MAAC All-Tournament team...graduated from Rider on May 11...lost to Niagara (two earned runs in five innings) and Canisius this year...will be a situational lefty out of the bull pen in MAAC tournament...series of injuries over the years have depleted his velocity but still possesses a very good curve ball.

6 #3 Greg Fazio freshman middle infield Far Hills, NJ Started the first 38 games of the season at shortstop and the last 16 at second base...enters game 3 of the tournament with 50 hits, fifth most on the team...third on the team in at bats...bats fifth (18), sixth (16) or seventh (12) in the line up...batted.364 in Canisius series (four hits) with a triple, three RBI and four runs scored...his seven doubles is fourth on the team...nine for nine in stolen base attempts in MAAC games...leads the team with 138 assists...has turned 19 double plays. #8 Richie Garcia junior (transfer) catcher Franklin Square, NY Started 19 games, 17 behind the plate...threw out four base runners attempting to steal...older brother Evan pitched for Rider in #31 David Hafer freshman left-handed pitcher Pine Grove, PA Fourth starter...made six starts this season, fourth most on the team...all 11 of his appearances were in non-conference games...defeated Saint Joseph s while losing to Rutgers and NJIT...struck out eight NJIT batters in six innings...struck out six Monmouth batters in eight shutout innings. #23 Ken Kremer sophomore right-handed DH/reserve catcher Hershey, PA Son of two-time Rider All-American Ken Kremer, who was named the MVP of the 1987 NCAA East Regional at Georgia Tech and won a National batting title in started 21 games as a DH this year after splitting the catching duties last year...batted.273 against MAAC pitchers this year. #32 Ian Lindsay junior outfielder/designated hitter Oaklyn, NJ First Team All-MAAC...leads Rider with a.335 batting average...enters game 3 of tournament with 94 career hits...made 42 starts this season after just 28 starts his first two seasons...batted.375 vs. MAAC pitchers this year with 27 hits in 19 MAAC starts...had five hits in series with Manhattan this year, including a double and a walk-off home run and five RBI...named First Team All-NJ this year...rider s fourth outfielder, has started 18 games as the DH and 23 games in left field...enjoyed a nine-game hitting streak this year...has seven sacrifice bunts, second most on the team...ranks sixth in the MAAC in batting average...enjoyed four three-hit games this season...as a rookie collected a hit in the NCAA Regional against the Texas Longhorns. #12 Zach Mawson freshman left-handed relief pitcher Magnolia, DE Leads Rider with five saves this year... member of NJ All-Rookie team with two saves against MAAC teams with 3.71 earned run average...credited with the save in his first collegiate appearance...saved wins over Manhattan, Siena, Saint Peter s, Saint Joseph s and Norfolk State...became the closer after Tyler Smith moved to starting rotation...played outfield in six games this year...started the Princeton game in right field, going 1 for 3 at the plate, and came in to earn the save.

7 #27 Jerry Mulderig sophomore right field/relief pitcher Langhorne, PA Named the Team s Most Improved Player this season...enters game 3 of tournament batting.285 with 39 hits in 35 starts after collecting just five hits as a rookie in in a game against Marist this year hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to give Rider the lead and pitched the ninth inning for a save...batted.417 (five hits) in the series with Fairfield and collected a save...suffered the loss against Manhattan...served as the team s closer for a week when Tyler Smith moved from bull pen to starting rotation. #21 Mike Murphy red-shirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Hamilton, NJ First Team All-MAAC...losing pitcher in game 2 vs. Canisius leads the team in earned run average (3.29) and victories (6-5 record) and is second on the team in strikeouts (55 in 95.2 innings)...started the first game of every MAAC series this season...was 5-1 vs. MAAC teams this year...went 5-0 in his final six MAAC starts...named First Team All- NJ this year...red-shirted last season after Tommy John surgery...defeated Canisius in 2010 MAAC Tournament, helping Rider win MAAC Championship...a pro prospect...was 2-0 vs. tournament field, defeating Manhattan and Fairfield...won the Bob Koehler Award this year as Rider s Most Valuable Pitcher. #34 Ryan Murphy grad. student first base/dh Yardville, NJ Red-shirted 2008 and graduated in first year as a starter...collected 31 hits in 35 starts...two hits, including a home run, and two RBI in 11-9 win over Manhattan, the second time in his career he hit a home run to beat the Jaspers. #2 Mike Parsons freshman middle infielder Liverpool, NY Started the first 38 games of the season at second base and the last 15 games at shortstop...leads the team with nine sacrifice bunts...has batted in seven different spots in the line up...second on the team with 129 assists...has turned 25 double plays...second on team with 31 runs scored...nine doubles is second most on the team...started every game. #25 Tyler Smith junior pitcher lefty Westmont, NJ Complete game victory in Game 1 against Manhattan...a Preseason All-American (Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) closer after compiling 24 saves in his first two seasons, was moved from bull pen to starting rotation in April...first collegiate start was April 7 vs. Fairfield, a complete game (7 innings) victory striking out six while allowing one run on four hits record as a starter, defeating Fairfield, Manhattan and Siena...also earned the victory over Niagara, pitching seven innings of relief in 13 inning game...possesses second best e.r.a. on team (3.72) while leading the squad in strike outs (62 k in 71.1 innings)...maac Relief Pitcher of the Year last season as well as New Jersey Relief Pitcher of the Year for 2011 when he compiled a Rider-record 15 saves.

8 #13 Kurt Sowa freshman right-handed pitcher Bensalem, PA Rider s third starter this year...member of NJ All-Rookie team...made 13 starts, tied for most on the team...owned a team-best 3.33 earned run average against MAAC batters...overall was fourth on the team in e.r.a. (4.62)...five wins is second most on the team...49 strikeouts third most on team, 72 innings pitched is second most on the team...was 2-2 in eight MAAC starts, defeating Saint Peter s and Iona while losing to Canisius and Fairfield...struck out five Manhattan batters in six innings...pitched four and two-thirds shutout innings for a no decision in 3-2 win over Niagara...struck out eight Norfolk State batters in five innings to win his collegiate debut. #6 Eric Strano freshman catcher Robbinsville, NJ Started 37 games behind the plate...has thrown out nine attempting base stealers...owns a.979 fielding percentage with 28 assists...17 walks is third most on the team...his.391 on base percentage is fourth best on the team...usually bats eighth or ninth in the line up...collected a hit in his first two collegiate games. #44 Eric Thomas freshman left-handed pitcher Dallastown, PA Held hitters to a.176 batting average, best on the Rider staff e.r.a. was third best on the team...25 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched...struck out eight Princeton batters in five relief innings for his first collegiate win. #26 Justin Thomas freshman first base Richboro, PA Named to the New Jersey Division I All-Rookie team...enters tournament batting.299 (third highest on team) with 35 hits in 30 starts...batted.329 against MAAC pitchers with 19 hits in 13 starts...started 20 games at first base and four at third base, as well as six as the DH...had a four-hit game (with two doubles) against Siena, a three-hit game against Saint Peter s and five two-hit games. #5 Adam Wayman junior third base Wilkes-Barre, PA Enters game 3 of the tournament with a team-high 62 hits... leads the team with 13 doubles and 35 runs scored...a very good defensive third baseman, owns a.942 fielding percentage with 119 assists...leads the team with six sacrifice flies...enjoyed a 10-game hitting streak this year...named Second Team All-NJ this year...19 multi-hit games this year leads the team...enters tournament with 100 career runs scored...his 161 career hits is already 34 th most ever at Rider with a full season remaining...owns a.351 batting average against MAAC pitchers this season with 33 hits in 24 conference games...batted.500 (5 for 10) vs. Manhattan and.385 (5 for 13) vs. Canisius this season...as a sophomore batted.338 vs. MAAC pitchers and batted.330 vs. MAAC pitchers as a rookie.
