7 8U Baseball Division: NEW THIS YEAR Max of 4 teams / 5 weeks / 7 s and 8 s Uses HLL AA Rules (described in p19-20 of): With the following modifications: 1. Mound distance is 43' (to assist with pitching). 2. The 10U Softball Pitching rule #2 will be enforced (pitcher cannot walk home a run, coach-pitch completes at-bat, see p16 of above rules). 3. Three (3) steals per inning and one (1) per player within that inning. As such, an extra base cannot be taken on an overthrow during a caught stealing attempt unless it is by another runner not advancing to home plate AND the just successful steal attempt is not the 3rd stolen base of the inning.
8 AGE GROUP Info: 8U: Players born between 9/1/2008 and 8/31/2009 9U: Players born between 9/1/2007 and 8/31/2008 * 10U: Players born between 9/1/2006 and 8/31/2007 * 11U: Players born between 5/1/2005 and 8/31/2006 (16 months) 12U: Players born between 5/1/2004 and 4/30/2005 * note that in the Fall 2015, Little League International approved a new league age determination (adjusting the age change from last year). There is no impact for the 12U division. However, it does impact the 10U and 11U divisions. Players born between 5/1/2005 to 8/31/2006 are now considered a 11-year-old. Little League International shortened this 20-month grouping to a 16-month grouping (making the age cut off August 31 st ). Players born between September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008 are now considered a 10-year old.. ** YES, YOU CAN PLAY UP
9 Rules Continuous batting order All players must play at least one inning in the infield, and one inning in the outfield No player can play the same position for more than three innings (four for a catcher) A Starting Pitcher can remain at Pitcher for an unlimited # of innings provided he does not exceed the pitch count. However, once he is done, he must satisfy the outfield requirement.
10 Pitching Rules (Little League International) Game Limit: 75 pitches (9/10) or 85 pitches (11/12) If >65 pitches in game, 4 days of rest required If >50, 3 days if >35, 2 days if >20, 1 day Pitch counts must be logged onto Sizzler website If >40, cannot play catcher for remainder of game If a player plays catcher for 4 innings, he cannot pitch that game.

12 Limits on Stolen Bases For 9U and 10U divisions only, there is a cap of FIVE stolen bases per inning. You can steal home. Stolen bases include any advancement when a ball is not hit (i.e. overthrows on a steal) Example: Situation runners on 1 st and 2 nd base, guy on 2 nd steals 3rd and it results in an overthrow into left field. Guy steals home and runner from 1 st is now on 3 rd. How many steals are recorded? Coaches should track this every inning

What runner has to return to the base?

The runner from 1 st heads to 2 nd for the final steal. However, the runner on 3 rd also steals home. Both are safe, however, you have exceeded the 5 steal limit. What runner has to return to the base? ANSWER Lead base is considered the final steal (runner from 3 rd scores and runner on 2 nd is required to return to 1 st base)
18 Limits on Stolen Bases Example: Situation # 4 A Runner is on second base. He makes a decision to steal third without the 3 rd base coaches approval (also his Dad). He gets thrown out dead to rights. Does this count toward the 5 steal limit in an inning?

22 Other Dropped Third Strike (12U only) Mercy Rule: 12 Runs (after game is official) A Game is considered official after 4 innings are completed Ex # 1 : Home 13 runs, Visitors 1 run. Middle of the 4 th GAME is complete Ex # 2: Visitors 18 runs, Home 3 runs> Middle of the 4 th Home team MUST bat for it to be considered a complete game Max 5 runs per inning for first four innings (9U/10U) Two Hour time limit on all games (cannot start a NEW inning past 1:45 mark GAMES MUST START on TIME)

(Can t begin on SUNDAY before 11:00 AM)

25 Umpires Provided by HLL We provide both patched and non-patched umps All Umpires have completed a town training program Experience: 2 years as Umpires 1-2 years as Summer Ball Umpires We provide Patched umpires behind Home Plate for Championship playoff games Send us feedback (good or bad) Be KIND no one is perfect.
26 Make-up Games PRAY for GOOD Weather!!! Should coordinate with opposing coach Pyne Field generally available, but you may play on your home field if it s mutually agreeable If you decide on your home field, you will need to supply Umpires from your town. $60 MAXIMUM will be reimbursed make up games due to rain outs (Not applicable to scheduling conflicts) Notify us so that the website is updated.
