International treaties require that all luggage be security screened before being loaded on passenger airplanes. In countries, like the USA and Japan, baggage security often requires luggage to be opened to complete the inspection. If your luggage is locked with Travel Sentry Approved locks the TSA can open it for inspection and relock it. If your luggage does not use a TSA accepted lock the TSA can and will break it open for inspection. You can use your Travel Sentry Approved locks and luggage anywhere in the world. 15 Cleaning / Lubrication During the assembly of our padlocks, high quality grease is applied to all areas of contact within the internal mechanism. If the product is exposed to extreme temperatures, caustic or dirty environments, or such that the original lubricant becomes contaminated, Kwikset Corporation suggests cleaning the contaminated areas with a non-corrosive solvent and re-lubricate.
