3 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS - FRIDAY REGISTRATION, May 8th, The Suites Hotel: Registration for the show will be on Friday May 8th at the host hotel (The Suites Hotel Lake Avenue S. Duluth, MN 55802) Athletes who don t register on Friday will not be able to compete on Saturday May 9th, no exceptions. If you are a late entry who has not yet turned in an entry form, please have your form filled out. You must pay the late entry fee with either cash or money order. Registration: Men 6-7 pm, Women 7-8 pm The following must be brought to registration: 1. Music 2 copies (Bodybuilders and Women s Physique athletes). CD s or Flash drives only, you must have 1 track only :60 sec. See competitor information, if music contains profanity you will do routine to house music. 2. NPC Card, receipt of or a filled out registration card & check or money order for payment. ($120, made out to NPC). If you have registered with the NPC, and haven t received your card or don t have a receipt, you will have to write a check for membership. If the national office has you registered they will return your check. 3. Proof of Age, for anyone entering an age class, drivers license, passport, birth certificate (master s and teen). 4. Height Card, if you were heighted at a previous local show you don t have to be heighted at the Viking. 5. Posing suites MUST be worn for all weigh-ins. 6. Figure and Bikini athletes MUST wear the suits they plan on competing in, all suits are subject to inspection and must be cut according to NPC rules, see Competitor Information. Located backstage of the auditorium. ATHLETES ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS. 6:00 pm:... Evening Finals start, Tickets available at the Ticketmaster & DECC box office. { Important Information for YOU to know } Athletes WILL NOT be allowed to bring trainers or any helpers backstage. We will have athlete expediters backstage to help you get stage ready. Also only athletes at the athlete meeting prior to pre-judging and the night show. Please display good sportsmanship at all times. Must wear athlete pass to gain access to backstage and athlete meetings. Bring your own oil, we will provide the glue for suits. NO SPRAY GLUE BACKSTAGE. Backstage staff will assist you with oiling and suit gluing. Tanners will be backstage for touch-ups day of show. Please stay in the designated athlete area you are assigned to, if you are not in designated area when your class is called to go on stage - you will not be judged and automatically disqualified. Pump up room will be available backstage. Please travel on the routes that will be covered with protective coverings, keep tanning product off of walls and chairs. 4 NPC Competitor Rules and Information ALL DIVISIONS ELIGIBILITY: ALL COMPETITORS: (1) Each competitor must be currently registered with the NPC and to meet this requirement, he/she must present his/her current NPC card, current NPC receipt, or purchase a NPC card at this competition ($100). (2) Each competitor must be an amateur in good standing with the NPC. (3) Competitor must not have won overall in his/her division at any MN NPC competition in the last year. MASTER S CLASSES: Each competitor in these divisions must have reached the age of the class entered, ie their 35th birthday for master s 35+, and must provide proof of age with birth certificate, driver s license or state ID. BODYBUILDING DIVISIONS MEN S WEIGHT CLASSES: Bantamweight: and under, Lightweight: over and up to and including , Middleweight: over and up to and including , Light Heavyweight: over and up to and including , Heavyweight: over and up to and including , Super Heavyweight: over RULES: NO SPRAY OILS IN PUMP ROOM. Bottled oil permitted. NO HOT STUFF OR ANALGESIC SPRAYS ALLOWED, NO BOTTLED TANNING LOTION ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING, INCLUDING DREAM TAN! NO EXCEPTIONS! PLEASE HAVE YOUR TANNING PREPARATION DONE BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. Any competitor who competes in the judging must participate in evening show. Solid posing suits only and no jewelry will be worn during judging. All athletes must exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED IN COMPETITOR S PUMP ROOM OR BACKSTAGE EXCEPT COMPETITORS, CONTEST OFFICIALS AND EVENT SECURITY. Current NPC rules will apply. LADIES MAY WEAR EARRINGS, HAIR ORNAMENTS, AND MULTI-COLORED SUITS AT THE EVENING SHOW. NO COSTUMES OR PROPS ALLOWED. POSING & MUSIC: 30 second individual free posing during judging to house music. Competitor must provide a labeled CD for evening posing routine: 60 seconds of music (turn in at check-in). CD must have ONLY routine music and must be labeled. Recordings of poor quality, with more than one song and/or vulgar or obscene lyrics (this INCLUDES any swearing) will not be played and will be replaced by house music. MANDATORY POSES: Front double bicep, front lat spread, favorite side chest pose, back double bicep, back lat spread, favorite side tricep, abdominal pose showing thigh, most muscular (men only). PREJUDGING: Quarter turns, arms at side, no twisting; 30 second individual routine to house music; mandatory poses/comparisons. EVENING SHOW: All athletes will perform their individual posing routines. Routines are 60 seconds, no exceptions, anything longer will be cut. TROPHIES: All trophies are to be presented at the end of each division. MEN S PHYSIQUE. HEIGHT CLASS: Classes will be evenly divided into height classes according to final athlete entries. RULES: Above BB rules apply with following exceptions/additions: Suits must be cut according to NPC rules, board shorts above knee and 1 below navel, no shirt, barefoot. No lewd acts permitted on stage. PRE-JUDGING: The contestants will present quarter turns individually with hand on hip or in pocket for 10 seconds, ending facing judges, then proceed to stage left. Then athletes will be brought as a group to center stage for quarter turn comparisons. No lewd acts permitted on stage. WOMEN S PHYSIQUE. HEIGHT CLASS: Classes will be evenly divided into height classes according to final athlete entries. RULES: Above BB rules apply with following exceptions/additions: Two piece suit cut according to NPC rules, solid suit is not required, jewelry allowed. POSING & MUSIC: Above BB rules apply. MANDATORY POSES: Open hand front double bicep, arm extended side chest pose, open hand back double bicep, side tricep leg extended, abdominal pose showing thigh PRE-JUDGING: Quarter turns, arms at side, no twisting; 30 second individual routine to house music; mandatory poses/comparisons. EVENING: All athletes will perform their individual posing routines. Routines are 60 seconds, no exceptions, anything longer will be cut. WOMEN S FITNESS FITNESS ROUTINE/MUSIC: Competitor must provide a labeled CD at check-in with her fitness routine music, 2 minutes maximum. Recordings of poor quality, with more than one song and/or vulgar or obscene lyrics (this INCLUDES any swearing) will not be played and will be replaced by house music. Routine is worth 2/3 of total score, 2 piece round is 1/3 of total score. RULES: Above BB rules apply with following exceptions/additions: Suits must be cut according to NPC rules, minimum of 50% glute coverage, no thongs. No oil may be worn. Jewelry may be worn in the swimwear round, but not in the fitness round. PRE-JUDGING: The contestants will present quarter turns in the two-piece swimsuit, in a line with other contestants, and high heels, as well as individual model poses. Each athlete performs an individually designed routine to music, no longer than 2 minutes. Routines may include aerobics, dance, gymnastics or other demonstrations of athletic talent. Contestants wear tennis athletic shoes and a fitness outfit of their choice. Props carried on stage with the athlete and approved by the Director in advance, are permitted. WOMEN S FIGURE HEIGHT CLASS: Without heels, A: up to & including 5 1, B: over 5 1 up to & incl 5 2.5, C: over up to & incl 5 4, D: over 5 4 up to & incl 5 5.5, E: over up to & incl 5 7, F: over 5 7. Height classes may be adjusted according to final athlete count, final heights taken at registration RULES: Above BB rules apply with following exceptions/additions: Suits must be cut according to NPC rules, minimum of 50% glute coverage, no thongs. Jewelry may be worn. PRE-JUDGING: The contestants will present quarter turns, in a line with other contestants, as well as individual model poses, wearing a two-piece swimsuit according to NPC rules (50% minimum glute coverage, no thongs permitted) and high heels. Jewelry is allowed. WOMEN S BIKINI HEIGHT CLASS: Without heels, A: up to & incl 5 4, B: over 5 4 up to incl 5 6, C: over 5 6. Height classes may be adjusted to final athlete count. RULES: Above BB rules apply with following exceptions/additions: Suits must be cut according to NPC rules, minimum of 50% glute coverage and not too low in front, athlete can face disqualification if inappropriate suit is worn, alternate suit is suggested. Jewelry may be worn. PRE-JUDGING: The contestants will present themselves individually with front pose, hand on hip, back pose, hand on hip, front pose hand on hip, then to stage left, then group comparisons at center stage with front and rear hand on hip poses, wearing a two-piece swimsuit according to NPC rules (50% minimum glute coverage, no thongs permitted) and high heels. Jewelry is allowed. No lewd acts permitted on stage.
