Tahe Marine One of the biggest kayak manufacturers in Northern Europe, Tahe Kayaks was founded in 1989. Over time both the range and number of kayaks has increased.

Tahe Marine product range is primarily marketed in Europe but the market has grown with each year and now Estonian kayaks are known and appreciated in many other countries around the world. Due to the enquiries from our partners, we would like to take a chance and explain what Tahe Marine as a brand name means. Tahe in Estonian means willpower translated into English and Marine of course an English word for sea and everything related to it. Therefore, we interprete Tahe Marine as the willpower on the sea!

5 Technology Tahe Kayaks has concentrated over the years in developing manufacturing techniques together with the composite and thermoplast industry. We use the newest materials and up-to-date production methods. In the company the following production methods are being used: hand lay-up we have used the standard composite construction method now for more than 20 years very successfully in our company, with each kayak constructed by employees with many years of experience. Of course over the years the properties of the raw materials have improved which, with our long time of experience, has helped us to build even stronger and nicer looking kayaks. In this production method we are combining the high performance properties of the DCPD based polyester resin with several types of fibreglass reinforcements. carbon/aramide this composite construction method was launched in Tahe Marine range during 2009 season, due to the demand from our customers. Although 2009 season being more like a custom option, Tahe Kayaks has decided to implement it from 2010 season as a standard lay-up option. In this lay- up the carbon/aramide reinforcement increases durability and stiffness of the kayak, absorbing even less energy during paddling and withstanding the most challenging environments. vacuum infusion do not confuse this with vacuum bagging! Vacuum infusing is one of the most advanced construction methods used in the industry. This production method ensures the best strength/weight ratio possible. We believe it to be a very successful method of extending our range of materials and products. Tahe Kayaks is producing fibreglass kayaks, carbon/aramide kayaks, semi-carbon vacuum infused kayaks and polyethylene kayaks. Tahe Kayaks has also been manufacturing paddles since Tahe Kayaks is working closely together with the leading suppliers around the world in the industry to offer customers the best value-for-money kayaks available on the market.
