1 On Thursday, December 16 th, the Brookridge staff threw a party for the Residents. The party began with a Christmas Parade and Christmas Caroling through Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living. Each department at Brookridge made their own floats to use in the Parade. Below are pictures of the train. Administration Car in Honor of Health Care Activities

3 Laundry The Christmas Train moves to the Auditorium where Independent Living Residents awaits its arrival. After the Christmas Parade through Health Care, the train proceeded to Independent Living and assembled in the middle of the auditorium for Christmas Caroling with the Residents and a Christmas Play with Brookridge Staff as the actors. 4 The Night Before Christmas at Brookridge Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the RIDGE Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse; (I said not even a mouse) Renee has Mickey Mouse ears on and is holding a mouse by the tail, she then puts the mouse in a basket and covers him up to sleep The stockings were flung by the heating units with care, Stockings are flung up in the air In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; Everyone clasp their hands with an excited look on their faces while nodding their heads The residents were nestled all snug in their beds; Everyone yawn and stretch While visions of Ginger Bread Men danced in their heads; Kathy and MC Holds up Ginger Bread Men And Phyllis in her PJ s Phyllis Enters and Renee in her Mouse Ears Had just settled down for a long winter s nap Phyllis and Renee act like spoiled, bratty children When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, Box of Pots and Pans and Utensils make noise I fell from the bed to see what all that racket was And Make a phone call to Terry to ask why all that noise was necessary at this time of night. Away to the window I flew like a flash? SEVERAL FLASH CAMERA S Ha! Ha! Ha! Tore open the shutters and took hold of the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

5 MC Holds up Festival Sun Kathy throws Snowballs Gave the luster of mid-day to all of the cars below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, Everyone look astonished But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, Point to a miniature sleigh and 8 tiny Reindeer at back of Auditorium With A little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be.st. Robert? Bob? Bob is at the doors of the Auditorium in his get up That being Red Santa Hat, Red Scarf, etc. Bob is pulling a Grocery Cart with Lowes Grocery bags of stuff for BINGO prizes (Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Banana s, Briefs, Pollident) More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, (Pause) and shouted, (Pause) and called them by name; Now, Dasher! (Bob Repeats) Now, Dancer!(Bob Repeats) Now, Prancer (Bob Repeats) and Vixen! (Bob Repeats) On, Comet! on Cupid! (Bob Repeats) On, Donder and Blitzen! (Bob Repeats) To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Now Stride away! Stride away! Stride away all! As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with and obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With a shopping cart full of groceries, and St. Robert, Bob, too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof Ring Bells The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. Everyone stomp their feet As I drew in my head, and was tuning around, Everyone point to their head and turn around Down Hayes Forest Drive St. Bob came in the bus.

6 Bob makes car sounds He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; Bob brushes his self off A bundle of Lowes Foods he had stripped to his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack? Bob starts looking in his pack His eyes how they twinkled! His dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! Put a rose pedal on his cheeks and a clown nose on his nose His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, MC ties Bow around his neck And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow; Kathy puts beard on him The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth Bob puts pipe in his mouth and then Everyone says while shaking their head and finger OH NO, No Smoking Allowed And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath; Have a FAIRY WAND and circle Bob while waving wand around his head as everyone says There s no place like Brookridge, There s no place like Brookridge He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. Bob does his laugh and pulls out of grocery bag A BIG GARNER JELLY JAR He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old activity director And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; EVERYONE LAUGH A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Bob winks at Phyllis and twists his head toward Bill and gives him a puzzled look at what he is wearing Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, (Renee says for a change ) but went straight to his work, (Renee says for a change ) And filled all the stockings; Bob grumbles about the stocking being everywhere then decides to give the residents the stuff instead of

7 putting stuff in the stockings then turned into a jerk, And putting his finger inside of his nose; And giving a nod, up the elevator he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, Blow a whistle and Bob says IT S TIME TO GO All the reindeer get ready to leave out the door with Bob Some say, wait for me, or I m not coming this time And away they all flew like the down of a thistle, But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, Bob leaves with the reindeer out the doors and we can hear him Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas to all, and to all LET S EAT. Everyone says
