1 Canada Name: Applying the concepts, ideas, and events of the period running from , you are going to complete the following project in pairs which will be presented on the date specified in class. You are going to need to research ahead of where we currently are in the course to complete this assignment which will assess your communication and application skills, be marked out of 60, and graded using the following rubric (which you must submit on the day of your presentation). The Assignment You can either compose a song, similar to Little Pink Houses, and Livin in America, OR write a poem a long the lines of, Why I Love Her. HOWEVER, what you write must be about Canada in the time period specified above and the events, concepts, and/or ideas you make reference to must be about Canada, not the United States or any other country. If you write a song it must be of comparable length to those listed but a couple of stanza longer in the case of the poem. These songs are GUIDELINES, what you compose will make more reference to that which is Canadian then these do (poem excepted). As well, you will also need to construct a collage of images from Canadian history from the specified time period which will run while you are performing either your song or poem. If your collage is done in power point, or movie maker, it must work on the day of your presentation. Thus, it is your responsibility to ensure that your media component is complete and operable; if I were you I would test my collage on a computer different from that which it was constructed on. If you don t like using this software, you can construct your collage by hand but what you have must be clearly seen at the back of the class. There will be some time in class to work to begin research, but this project is homework. If you have any questions make sure you ask them soon than later.
