4 On behalf of the Board of Directors of Softball NSW, I am pleased to welcome all players, officials, umpires and supporters to the 2018 Softball NSW Under 17 State Championships being hosted by Southern Districts Softball Association. To all players and officials congratulations on your selection to represent your Association at this event. We thank you for all your time and commitment to your team and the association that you are representing at these Championships and trust you will enjoy the experience. Wonderful Parents - the support you give your child as a player in Softball where they gain such wonderful sport and life skills. Your support and encouragement is vital in ensuring that the experience is a positive one. Thank you. Our appreciation, on your behalf to the Umpires, Scorers, and other officials for your dedication and commitment to these events. Good luck to all candidates seeking to gain a higher level. To Southern Districts, our host Affiliate, Softball NSW express sincere appreciation. Many people work hard behind the scenes to make this event happen. THANK YOU all, for your time, efforts and dedication to this great team sport of Softball. To all participating teams I wish you GOOD LUCK. Frances Crampton AM President
5 It is with great pleasure that I extend a welcome to all those attending the 2018 Softball NSW Under 17 s State Championships at Jacqui Osmond Softball Centre Warwick Farm this weekend. The Board and members of Southern Districts are privileged to have the opportunity to host this event on behalf of Softball NSW. We are confident that all those involved, participants and spectators will have an enjoyable weekend of fun and friendship with true sportsmanship on display. Softball is a sport which relies almost entirely on volunteers, including coaches, umpires, officials, grounds staff, canteen staff, board members and parents, who selflessly give up their time and energy for the betterment of our young athletes and our sport. To our affiliate clubs thank you for your ongoing support. I would especially like to thank Liverpool City Council for their support, without whom we would not have the excellent playing fields we are enjoying this weekend. I would like to give special mention to Tony Jackson our head groundsman who along with his team has done an outstanding job of preparing the grounds for this event. To all the teams competing this weekend, I wish you the best of luck and congratulate you on your achievement in representing your Association at these State Championships Kathryn Warburton SDSA President
