1 2013 CALGARY OPEN DOUBLES SQUASH In an absolutely dominating and dazzling display Eric Watson and Craig Hiddlelston won the 2013 Calgary open doubles squash championship by a score of 3-0 over the Rob Birrell/Danny Rutherford combination. Despite Eric and Craig losing their respective mixed open matches just a couple of hours earlier they managed to regroup and regain their focus. However, thru the Saturday night banquet their mixed partners had a few questions for them concerning their previous performances! Eric Craig The ladies open final match had Lindsay and Kathy (#1 Seeds) playing the unseeded duo of Jackie and Anna. Lindsay and Kathy were put to the test winning the championship in 4 games. Hats off to Jackie and Anna for making it to the final by beating some very good teams and if they continue to play together they will be a team to be reckoned with. Lindsay Auld, Kathy Conquergood, Jackie Moss, Anna Pentland Congratulations to Lindsay and Kathy for another outstanding performance. BTW did I mention that Kathy played with Craig earlier on in a mixed open semifinal! 1

Mixed Open It should be noted that the mixed open doubles produced some of the most exciting squash of the tournament and there were many strong teams.

Meanwhile, Rob and Jackie were steamrolling the competition on their way to the final. Jack and Kelsey gave it all they had but finally succumbed to Rob and Jackie in four games.

Jack and Kelsey made it to the final by upsetting the #1 seeded Craig/Kathy combo in an absolutely fantastic semifinal. Meanwhile, Rob and Jackie were steamrolling the competition on their way to the final. Jack and Kelsey gave it all they had but finally succumbed to Rob and Jackie in four games. It should also be noted that Kelsey and Jackie were both absolutely fantastic in their Calgary open debut and I can tell you one thing----- don t mess with those 2 gals on the right wall unless you are ready to rumble! Congratulations to Rob and Jackie!!! Ode to a Mixed Doubles Partner Right Waller, Le* Waller my schedules wide open. My blood runs clean, my drop shot no doping. Natasha Doucas came from Vancouver to play doubles and won the Ladies Open consolation event and the Mixed Open consolation event. Her partner in the Ladies was a newbie (Christi Leibel) who just got stronger as the play went on and they beat the very talented duo of Allyson Kjenner and Sara McNeil from Edmonton. Good to see Christi back playing and as usual Natasha played awesome. 7
