1 2015 North Carolina Rice Festival Pageant North Carolina Rice Festival September 19-20, 2015 Saturday 9-6, Sunday 9-5 Brunswick Riverwalk at Belville, NC Applications are being accepted for the 2015 North Carolina Rice Festival Pageant. The North Carolina Rice Festival celebrates our rice growing history and continued rice production. This pageant will be held Saturday September 5 th, 2015 and is open to all contestants in eastern North Carolina. Deadline to enter is August 28th, The location of the pageant is to be announced. Age division is determined by your age the day of the pageant. 4-6 Mini Miss Rice Festival 7-9 Little Miss NC Rice Festival Junior Miss NC Rice Festival Teen Miss NC Rice Festival Miss NC Rice Festival Applications accepted on or before August 21, 2015, entry fee is $ After August 21st and until August 28th entry fee is $ Applications will only be accepted through August 28th, Entry fee is non-refundable. Each Queen will receive a crown, trophy, & sash. All contestants will receive a trophy and a gift. The number of runner-ups will be determined by the number of contestants.

2 AREAS OF COMPETITION INTERVIEW All Contestants will have a private interview with the judges. Wear a dress (any color), but be dress-casual. Shoe style and color is up to you. CASUAL WEAR Tiny and Mini Miss will only compete in casual/festival wear. Casual/festival wear is the time to be creative. In this category of the competition you may glitz up your festival wear and make it to reflect you. EVENING WEAR All contestants will compete in this category. Contestants will compete in long formal evening gown. Age appropriate is recommended as well as no high low dress for evening gown. Please send a picture if there are questions. Contestants must introduce themselves during this part of competition by saying their name, contestant #, sponsor and/or something about the rice festival or rice production. OPTIONAL AWARDS PHOTOGENIC You may enter photogenic for an additional $ Each age division will have a winner and there will be an Overall Photogenic winner who will receive a trophy and gift. Please mail this in along with your application or you also will be given the opportunity to turn in your picture before interviews begin. Please turn in one photo, either a 5x7 or 8x10 for judging. TICKET SALES The contestant who sells the most tickets, Overall Ticket Sales Winner, will receive a trophy and gift. Advance tickets are $6.00 and at the door is $8.00. Money and unused tickets are due by rehearsal/day of pageant. AD SALES Ad sales can be sold for the program. The Overall Ad Sales Winner will also receive a trophy and gift. 3 The North Carolina Rice Festival Pageant title is a closed title. If you participate in another pageant while holding this title, you will forfeit the title and it will go to the first runner up. If you presently hold a title, you cannot participate in the pageant. Also, if you do not make any of the required appearances during the first 3 months of you winning the title, the crown will go to the first runner up. All queens will be required to be present at the North Carolina Rice Festival. All title winners/parents will be expected to sign a contract agreeing to their reign. The judges decision is final. Please do not approach the judges, directors, or any of the committee members at any time before, during or after the pageant. Poor sportsmanship will also not be tolerated! The North Carolina Rive Festival Pageant, Directors, the North Caroline Rice Festival, committee, sponsors, staff, and the auditorium and school property will not be held responsible for accidents, damages, theft, illnesses or lost items the day of the pageant or any activities pertaining to the pageant.
