PARTICIPANT BIRTH CERTIFICATES Teas will no longer be required to subit a picture and a copy of each participants birth certificate with their registration. However, a copy of each participants birth certificate or passport ust be ade readily available upon request of a Worlds Official. 5 AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION If you need transportation to and fro the Orlando International Airport (MCO), you ust read this inforation carefully. We will be sending you a transportation packet of iportant instructions for setting up your transportation to and fro the airport. This packet should arrive about 4 weeks prior to the event. Teas with 2nd deadline will receive this inforation with the return packet. H Transportation between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the Walt Disney World Resort will be provided by Disney's Magical Express. Attendees utilizing another airport will need to find alternate transportation. H Disney's Magical Express provides otorcoach transportation to/fro the Walt Disney World Resort and special luggage delivery service. H Disney's Magical Express requires a reservation. Each guest ust be registered at a Walt Disney World Resort prior to contacting Disney's Magical Express. H After registering for the event, each tea will be provided with specific details to book their Disney's Magical Express reservation. Reservations need to be copleted 14 days prior to arrival. Guests will be asked to provide a ailing address and inbound/outbound flight inforation. H Disney's Magical Express will ail Airport Transportation Booklets which include detailed arrival instructions and special luggage tags. 5

14 2014 ICU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM CHEER DIVISIONS RULES & REGULATIONS Ites in Black Bold are the differences fro last rules cycle A. UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES 1. If, in the opinion of the copetition officials, a tea s routine is interrupted because of failure of the copetition equipent, facilities, or other factors attributable to the copetition rather than the tea, the tea affected should STOP the routine. 2. The tea will perfor the routine again in its entirety, but will be evaluated ONLY fro the point where the interruption occurred. The degree and effect of the interruption will be deterined by the copetition officials. 3. B. FAULT OF TEAM 1. In the event a tea s routine is interrupted because of failure of the tea s own equipent, the tea ust either continue the routine or withdraw fro the copetition. 2. The copetition officials will deterine if the tea will be allowed to perfor at a later tie. If decided by officials, the tea will perfor the routine again in its entirety, but will be evaluated ONLY fro the point where the interruption occurred. 3. C. INJURY 1. The only persons that ay stop a routine for injury are: a) copetition officials, b) the advisor / coach fro the tea perforing or c) an injured individual. 2. The copetition officials will deterine if the tea will be allowed to perfor at a later tie. If the copetition officials allow a routine to be perfored at a later tie, the spot in the schedule where the re-perforance is to take place is at the sole discretion of copetition officials. The tea ay perfor the routine again in its entirety, but will be evaluated ONLY fro the point where the interruption occurred. 3. If a tea needs to re-perfor a routine but fails to do the routine in its entirety, then this tea will receive a score based on the lower level perforance. 14

15 4. The injured participant that wishes to perfor ay not return to the copetition floor unless: a. The copetition officials receive clearance fro, first, the edical personnel attending to that participant, the parent (if present) AND THEN the head coach/advisor of the copeting tea. b. If the edical personnel do not clear the participant, the participant can only return to the copetition if a parent or legal guardian in attendance signs a return to participation waiver. c. In the event of a suspected concussion/head injury, the participant cannot return to perfor without clearance fro a edical professional, even with a waiver fro a parent or legal guardian. 15

JUDGING PROCEDURES The judges for the event will be appointed at the sole discretion of the International Cheer Union. As the teas ake their presentations, the judges will score the teas using a 100 point syste. The highest score and the lowest score given for each tea will be dropped and the reaining judges scores will be totaled to deterine the overall tea score. In the event of a first place tie, the high and low score will be added back into the total score. If a tie reains, the ranking points fro each judge will be used to break the tie. XI. SCORES AND RANKINGS Individual score sheets are for the exclusive use of each particular judge. Each judge has the responsibility and authority to review and subit his or her final scores and rankings prior to the final tally of the scores for all teas. Scores and rankings will be available only to coaches or captains at the conclusion of the copetition. No scores or rankings will be given over the telephone. After each round of copetition, teas will receive the judges score sheets as well as their score and the top score in the group. In addition, teas will receive a ranking sheet with the naes and scores of the teas final placeent. XII. FINALITY OF DECISIONS 30

31 By participating in this chapionship, each tea agrees that decision by the judges will be final and will not be subject for review. Each tea acknowledges the necessity for the judges to ake propt and fair decisions in this copetition and each tea therefore expressly waives any legal, equitable, adinistrative or procedural review of such decisions. XIII. APPEARANCES, ENDORSEMENTS AND PUBLICITY All teas winning titles or awards agree to have all appearances, endorseents and publicity approved through the ICU office. XIV. PENALTIES A five (5) point per judge penalty will be assessed to any tea violating any of the specific rules as stated above. This deduction does not apply to violations entioned above that are designated a lesser point value. 32 2014 ICU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM CHEER RULES & REGULATIONS GENERAL RULES GUIDELINES 1 All teas ust be supervised during all official functions by a qualified coach/instructor. 2 Coaches/instructors ust require proficiency before skill progression. Coaches ust consider the dancer and tea skill level with regard to proper perforance placeent. 3 All participants agree to conduct theselves in a anner displaying good sportsanship throughout the event. The director/ coach of each tea is responsible for seeing that tea ebers, coaches, parents, and any other person affiliated with the tea conduct theselves accordingly. 4 All progras should have, and review, an eergency action plan in the event of an injury. 5 Each tea will have a iniu of 1 inute and 45 seconds (1:45) to a axiu of 2 inutes and 30 seconds (2:30) to deonstrate their style and expertise. Tiing will begin with the first choreographed oveent or note of the usic. Tiing will end with the last choreographed oveent or note of the usic, whichever happens last. a. Event producers ay allow a axiu of 5 second leeway/grace period. b. If a copany adds the production/show category, the tie liit ay be increased to 5 inutes. 6 Substitutions ay be ade in the event of any injury or other serious circustance. Substitutes ust also abide by the age and gender restrictions in all divisions in which they copete. 7 Footwear is recoended but not required. Wearing socks and/or footed tights only is prohibited. (Exception: socks are allowed on a carpeted perforance surface) 8 Jewelry as a part of a costue is allowed. CHOREOGRAPHY AND COSTUMING 1 Suggestive, offensive, or vulgar choreography, costuing, and/or usic are inappropriate for faily audiences and therefore lack audience appeal. 2 Routine choreography should be appropriate and entertaining for all audience ebers. Vulgar or suggestive aterial is defined as any oveent or choreography iplying soething iproper or indecent, appearing offensive or sexual in content, and/or relaying lewd or profane gestures or iplications. Inappropriate choreography, costuing and/or usic ay also affect the judges overall ipression and/or score of the routine. 3 All choreography should be age appropriate. 4 All costuing and akeup should be age appropriate and acceptable for faily viewing. PROPS 1 Wearable and handheld ites are allowed in all categories and can be reoved and discarded fro the body. 2 Standing props are only allowed in the prop and production category. Any ite that bears the weight of the participant is considered a standing prop. (Exaples: chairs, stools, benches, ladders, boxes, stairs, etc.) BOLD font: Please read these carefully as anything bold is a deliberate change to the guidelines. 33 2014 ICU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM CHEER RULES & REGULATIONS Rules EXECUTED BY INDIVIDUALS (Technical Skills): PR REP Sk ills are developed and should be part of natural progression in learning. The prep category involves skills with the following liitations: 1 Any cobination of turns, leaps or jups is liited to 3 technical skills. (Clarification: any skill not broken by a pause, stall or step are considered ultiple skills [i.e. double pirouette is 2 skills]. Glissade and gallop/chassé are considered steps.) 2 Turns are allowed provided the following: a. Working leg is held in a passé or coupe position. b. Supporting leg is on ground through the copletion of the turn. c. Rotations are liited to 2 rotations. 3 Leaps and jups are allowed provided the following: a. Does not involve a change in body position, facing direction or leg placeent, fro preparation through copletion of the skill. b. Do not involve axis rotation (Exaple: tour jetté/jeté or axle is not allowed) 4 Skills that do not include inversion or hip over head rotation ay be airborne provided the following: No ore than one axis rotation in a straight/pencil position (Exaple: A jup full turn is allowed, a windill or butterfly is not allowed) EXECUTED BY INDIVIDUALS (Tu ubling & Aerial Street Style Skills) Tubling as a dance skill is allowed, bu ut not required in all divisions with the following liitations: PREP CORE EXPANDED HIP HOP 0.5 Inverted Skills: a. Non airborne skills ust involve hand support with at least one hand through out the skill (Exaple: shoulder stall) b. Airborne skills are not allowed 1 Tubling skills with hip over head rotation: a. core applies b. Airborne skills with hand support are not allowed (no exceptions) c. Airborne skills without hand support are not allowed (no exceptions) Inverted Skills: a. Non airborne skills are allowed (Exaple: Headstand) b. Airborne skills with or without hand support that land in a perpendicular inversion ay not have backward oentu in the approach Tubling skills with hip over head rotation: a. Non airborne skills are allowed b. Airborne skills with hand support: i. May be airborne in descent if the approach is non airborne and is liited to two consecutive hip over head rotation skills (Clarification: a round off is allowed - hands touch the ground before the foot leaves the ground) ii. May not be airborne in approach (Exception: Dive rolls) c. Airborne skills without hand support are not allowed. (Exception: Aerial cartwheel that is not connected to any other skill) 2 core applies Siultaneous tubling over or under another dancer that includes hip over head rotation by both dancers is not allowed. 3 core applies Drops to the knee, thigh, back, shoulder, seat, front or head onto the perforing surface are not allowed unless the dancer first bears weight on the hand(s) or foot/feet. 4 core applies Landing in a push up position onto the perforance surface fro a jup in which the legs are in front of the body and swing behind are not allowed. All variations of a Shushunova are not allowed. 5 core applies Hip over head rotation skills with hand support are not allowed while holding pos or props in supporting hand(s). (Exception: forward rolls and backward rolls are allowed). Inverted Skills: a. core applies b. Airborne skills are allowed Tubling skills with hip over head rotation: a. core applies b. Airborne skills with hand support i. Are allowed (Exaple: Back Handspring) ii. Are liited to two consecutive hip over head rotation skills (Clarification: both skills ust have hand support) c. Airborne skills without hand support are allowed provided: i. Involves no ore than one twisting transition ii. May not connect to any other skill (group or individual) or jup core applies Only drops to the shoulder or seat are peritted provided the height of the airborne dancer does not exceed hip level. (Clarification: For drops to the knee, thigh, back, front or head the core rules apply.) Landing in a push up position ay involve any jup. core applies * Aerial Street Skills are Hip Hop skill sets that dancers develop over tie. They can include rotation that is hip over head or twisting. These skills are NOT eant to incorporate gynastics or cheerleading style tubling. Such gynastic skills are NOT ALLOWED. This prohibits standing full twisting layout in the Expanded Hip Hop Rules but allows capoeira style folha secca twist. (Clarification: The Executing Dancer ay not be released) The Executing Dancer ust receive support fro a Supporting Dancer who is in direct contact with the perforance surface. (Exception: kick line leaps) At least one Supporting Dancer ust aintain contact with the Executing Dancer(s) throughout the entire skill above shoulder level. A Supporting Dancer does not have to aintain contact with the perforance surface provided the height of the skill does not exceed shoulder level. core applies 3 Executing Dancer ust aintain an upright position in any elevated skill. Hip over head rotation of the Executing Dancer(s) is allowed if: a. A Supporting Dancer aintains contact until the Executing Dancer returns to the perforance surface or is returning to the upright position. b. The Executing Dancer is liited to one [hip over head] rotation. (Clarification: Any hip over head rotations within a partnering or lift sequence ust have a clear stop in the upright position). 4 A Vertical Inversion is allowed if: a.the Supporting Dancer(s) aintains contact until the Executing Dancer returns to the perforance surface or returns to the upright position. b.when the height of the Executing Dancer s shoulders exceed shoulder level there is at least one additional dancer to spot who does not bear weight. RELEASE MOVES (Unassisted disounts to the perforance surface) 5 The Executing Dancer ay not be released An Executing Dancer ay jup, leap, step or push off a Supporting Dancer(s) if: a.the highest point of the released skill does not elevate the Executing Dancer s hips above shoulder level. b.when the height of the skill is between hip level and shoulder level, the Executing Dancer ay not pass through the prone or inverted position after the release. c.
